राजा परीक्षित का श्री सुखदेव जी से श्री कृष्णा चरित्र का वर्णन करने हेतु आगरा श्री सुखदेव जी से बिना करते हुए राजा परीक्षित बोले हैं महात्मा जान आपने सूर्यवंशी ओम चंद्रवंशी राजाओं तथा ऋषि-मुनियों का वृत्तांत सुनाकर मेरे मन की क्षमता का हरण किया आप की दया माय वाणी से मैं धन्य हुआ अब आप मुझ पर अपनी कृपा दृष्टि डालकर उस कथा का रसपान कराएं जिससे यदुवंश श्री कृष्ण चंद्र जी ने अवतार लिया तथा भगवान श्री कृष्ण जी ने कौन-कौन श्री लीलाएं की तब श्री सुखदेव जी बोले हे राजन् भगवान श्री कृष्ण चंद्र जी ने आने के लायक जितना मुझे ज्ञान है वह समय सुनाता हूं ध्यान पूर्वक सुनो आमुख नामक यदुवंशी राजा की स्त्री के गर्भ से उग्रसेन तथा देवक नामक दो पुत्र उत्पन्न हुए राजा उग्रसेन अपने पिता की मृत्यु के पश्चात राजा हुए एक बार राजा उदय सिंह की पत्नी पवन रेखा पति से आज्ञा लेकर ब्राह्मण करने हेतु अपनी सखियों के साथ वन में गए वहां वहां अपनी सखियों से अलग होकर वन में विचरण करने लगी उसी समय एक कामिक दाना वहां आ गया जो उसे 1 में रहता था पवन रेखा के रूप सौंदर्य को देखकर वाना हो गया और राजा उग्रसेन का रूप धारण कर पवन रेखा के सम्मुख जाकर बुक करने की इच्छा प्रकट करने लगा उसके वचनों को सुनकर उसे अपना पति जान पवन रेखा उससे कहने लगी यह स्वामी दिन में बुक करने से धर्म का नाश होता है परंतु वह काम निदान रुमाली का काम के वशीभूत हो रहा था वह पवन रेखा के कथन को ना मानकर उससे भूख किया तत्पश्चात अपने वास्तविक रूप प्रकट हुआ उसी वास्तविकता जानकर पवन रेखा अत्यंत क्रोधित होकर कहने लगी अरे दुष्ट दाना पुणे का पाठ रूप धारण कर्म मेरा धर्म भ्रष्ट किया इसलिए तुझे नरक भोगना होगा महारानी के वचनों को सुनकर वह बोला है रानी तू मुझ पर क्रोध करके सर आप ना दे तेरी को बंद देखकर मुझे अति चिंता हुई तेरे साथ भोग करके मैंने अपने समस्त शुभ कर्मों का फल तुझे दे दिया तेरे घर से एक महा बलशाली एक प्रताप भी बालक का जन्म लेगा और समस्त भूमंडल के राजाओं को जीतकर एक छत्र राज करेगा उसे मारने के लिए स्वयं श्री नारायण अवतार लेंगे हे राजा परीक्षित रानी पवन रेखा के गर्व से 10 में मां में घुस गर्भावस्था बालक का जन्म हुआ उसका नाम कंसुआ और काम जब 5 वर्ष का हुआ तब वह अपने दुष्ट स्वभाव से प्रजा को सताने लगा अन्य बालकों को ले जाकर यमुना के जल में डुबोकर मार डालता राजा के दुखों को देख राजा उग्रसेन ने कंस को समझाया परंतु उनके समझने का उस पर कोई प्रभाव ना हुआ श्री सुखदेव जी बोले हे राजा परीक्षित जब काम युवा हुआ तब जा राधा ने अपने दोनों कन्याओं का विवाह काम से करा दिया और कुछ दिन तक अकाउंट में आपने स्त्रियों के साथ विहार किया तत्पश्चात वह अपने पिता उग्रसेन को मारा सिहासन से उतारकर स्वयं राजा बन बैठा और उन्होंने कैद खाने में डाल दिया और राज में ढिंढोरा पिटवा दिया कि मेरे राज्य में योगदान एवं पूजा मेरे लिए हो देवताओं का पूजन पूर्ण रूप से वर्जित कर दिया हे राजा परीक्षित का उसके भाई से सभी शुभ कर्म बंद हो गए जिससे पृथ्वी पर ताप का भार बढ़ने लगा उस भारत से दुखी होकर गांव का रूप धारण वह ब्रह्मा जी के पास जाकर अपनी व्यथा कहने लगी हे पिता मां मेरी रक्षा कीजिए माय बाप के बाहर से अभी जा रही हूं ब्रह्मा जी उसे लेकर शिवजी के पास गई तब शिवजी भोले ब्रह्मा जी पृथ्वी का भार उतारने के समस्त एकमात्र भगवान श्री नारायण में है वह समस्त लोकों के स्वामी हैं अतः आप उसके पास जाएं शिवजी के वचनों को सुनकर गौरव पृथ्वी को अपने साथ लेकर शिव सागर के तट पर गए और भगवान श्री हरि नारायण की स्तुति करने लगे उनकी स्तुति से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान श्री नारायण ने दर्शन देते हुए उनके आने का कारण पूछा तब ब्रह्मा जी ने पृथ्वी को पीड़ा वृतांत भगवान को बतलाया तब भगवान श्री नारायण बोले हे ब्रह्मा जी मैं भूमि का भार हरण करने के लिए माता देवकी के गर्भ से जन्म लेकर यशोमती मैया के घर जाकर बाल लीला करूंगा और दुष्टों का संहार करूंगा यह कह कर भगवान श्री हरि नारायण अंतर्ध्यान हो गए और ब्रह्माजी अन्य देवता समेत आपने लोग को चले गए हे राजा परीक्षित कुछ काल वह आज देवास ने अपनी पुत्री का विवाह वासुदेव से करने का निश्चय किया देवक महाराजगंज के चाचा थे और कंस उनकी पुत्री देवकी को अपनी सगी बहन समझता था अतः देवकी और वासुदेव का विवाह उसने बड़ी धूमधाम से किया और 15000 हाथी अट्ठारह दो घोड़े एवं वस्त्र आभूषण रत्न आदि दहेज में दिया और प्रेम पूर्वक स्वयं भारत पर सवार होकर सारथी की भांति पहुंचाने जा रहा था उसी समय आकाशवाणी वह राजा कंस जिस देवकी को इतना प्रेम पूर्वक विदा करने जा रहा है तेरी इस बहन के आठवें पुत्र के हाथों तेरे मृत्यु होगी आकाशवाणी सुनते ही कम के नेत्र लाल हो गए और कोट से उसका शरीर थरथर कांपने लगा और उसने म्यान से तलवार खींच लिया और दांत पीसकर देवकी को मारने के लिए झपटा उसी समय बासुदेव ने उसका हाथ पकड़ लिया और बोले ही मित्र का मिस्त्री का वध करना शूरवीर का धर्म नहीं है देवकी निरपराध है आपको इसके गर्व से उत्पन्न होने वाले आठवें पुत्र से भय है आकाशवाणी मैंने भी सुना था मेरा जान मैं आपको यह वचन देता हूं कि मेरी मिस्त्री देवकी के गर्भ से जो बालक उत्पन्न होगा उसे मैं आपके पास पहुंचा दूंगा यह सुनकर कंस बोला था मैं जानता हूं बासुदेव कि तुम सत्यवादी को कभी असत्य नहीं बोलते किंतु जब तक तुम्हारा आठवां बालक उत्पन्न नहीं हो जाता तब तक तुम और देवकी मेरे कारागार में जेल में रहोगी नेहा काकर उसने अपने सैनिकों को बुलाकर देवकी और वसुदेव को कारागार में डाल दिया कुछ काल पश्चात देवकी के गर्भ से प्रथम बालक उत्पन्न हुआ जिसे वासुदेव ने स्वयं ले जाकर कंस के हाथ में दे दिया कांस्य उस बालक को वासुदेव के हाथों में लगाते हुए कहा हे वासुदेव मुझे तुम्हारे इस बालक से कोई भाई नहीं है केवल आत्मा बालक मुझे चाहिए हे राजा परीक्षित बाला बासुदेव को दे दिया वे उसे लेकर आए उसके पास आए और पृथ्वी पर आकार रेखाएं खींचकर सब ओर से प्रत्येक रेखा को सिद्ध करके समझाते हुए बोले जिस तरह में कोई भी रखा आठवीं हो सकती है उसी तरह देवकी का कोई भी पुत्र आठवां हो सकता है यह कह कर नाराज जी चले गए तब कंस ने उस बालक को मंगवा कर मार डाला नारद जी ने यह भी कहा था कि गोकुल में देवताओं का अंक प्राप्त कर गई बालक जन्म लेंगे वह भी तुम्हारे साथ रहूंगी तब काटने पर मलबा सुर असुर बकासुर एवं केसी आदि असुरों को बुलाकर वज्र के समस्त बालकों को मार डालने का आदेश दिया
