वरुण देव द्वारा नंद जी का बंधन जाना
श्री सुखदेव जी राजा परीक्षित से कहने लगे हे राजन कर्तिक शुक्ल एकादशी को नंदराय जी ने व्रत किया और संध्याकाल में अपने इष्ट दव की विधि विधान से पूजा अर्चना की और द्वादशी तिथि अर्धरात्रि के बाद के लगने पर रात्रि काल में व्रत का पारायण करने के लिए स्नान करने हेतु उठकर यमुना तट की तरफ चल दिए वह समय हुए यहां ना जान सके कि अभी रात्रि कितनी शेष है और यमुना जल में उतर कर स्नान करने लगे उस समय वरुण देव के सेवक पहले पढ़ते हुए नंद जी को पास में बांधकर अपने स्वामी के पास ले गए और कहने लगे हे स्वामी या मनुष्य समय स्नान करने के लिए जेल में आप गुस्सा आता है हम लोग इसे पकड़कर आपके पास ले आए उस घड़ी नंद जी ने बलराम एवं श्री कृष्णा जी को बहुत पुकारा किंतु उस तक नंद जी की आवाज ना पहुंच सकी वरुण देवता नंद को तक्षण पहचान गए और आदर सहित उन्हें अपने महल में ले जाकर खाने लगे हैं नंदराय जी आपके भाग्य प्रबल है जो आप के पुत्र के रूप में श्री नारायण में अवतार लिया आप सुख पूर्वक मेरे महल में विश्राम करें तब नंदराय जी कहने लगे हे देव मेरे पीछे सभी लोग घबरा रहे होंगे अतः शीघ्र हमें यहां से जाने की अनुमति दें यह सुनकर वरुण देवता कहने लगे यह नंदराय जी हम आपको इसी समय आपके गृहस्थ स्थान पर पहुंचा देते हैं किंतु भगवान श्री कृष्ण के दर्शन की अभिलाषा को मैं किसी प्रकार रोक नहीं पा रहा हूं अंतर्यामी प्रभु आपको ढूंढते हुए अवश्य यहां पर आएंगे उनका दर्शन पाकर मैं धन्य हो जाऊंगा यह परिणाम जी जब जेल से बाहर ना निकले तब उनके साथ आए ग्वाल अत्यधिक चिंतित हुए और यमुना तट पर उनकी रखे हुए वस्तुओं को ले जाकर यशोदा जी को दिखाते हुए कहने लगे कि नंदराय जी स्नान करने यमुना जी के जाल में उतरे और अभी तक बाहर नहीं निकले यह सुनते ही वह रोटी चिल्लाती हुई यमुना के घाटों की तरफ दौड़ चली तब अंतर्यामी भगवान श्री कृष्णा एक क्षण मात्र में जान गए कि बाबा को वरुण देव के पहरेदार पकड़ कर ले गए हैं माता यशोदा को धीरज बनते हुए कहने लगे यह मैया तो जरा भी चिंता मत कर मैं अभी नंद बाबा को लेकर आता हूं यह कह कर वह क्षण वरुण लोग जा पहुंचे हे राजन उस समय भगवान वासुदेव का मुख मंडल हजार सूर्य के समान आलोकित हो रहे थे उन्हें आता हुआ देखकर वरुण धवन आश्वासन त्याग कर उठ खड़े हुए और उनके चरणों में दंडवत प्रणाम किया और इतना सम्मान सहित रनजड़ी सिहासन बैठ आते हुए विधिवत पूजा की तत्पश्चात हाथ जोड़कर बिना वक्त आने लगे ऐसा अपराध क्षमा हो आपके दर्शन की इच्छा से आपके पिताश्री को मैंने प्रेम पूर्वक रोक रखा था अन्यथा क्षण मातरम में माय इन्हें आपके पास पहुंचा देता हे भगवान आपके पिता नंद जी सब कुशल यहां बिराज रहे हैं आप इन्हें ले जाइए हिंदू हे दया निधान आपने इस सेवा को सदैव आपके चरणों का स्मरण बनाए रखें या कृपा प्रदान कीजिए वरुण देव की इस प्रकार स्तुति करते हुए देखकर भगवान श्री हरि नारायण अवतार कन्हैया जी अति प्रसन्न हुए और अपना भाई वरुण देव के मस्तक पर रख दिया तत्पश्चात नाथ जी को लेकर वृंदावन लौट आए हे परिचित वरुण देव एवं अन्य देवताओं ने श्री कृष्णा के चरणों में मस्तक रखकर प्रणाम किया यह दृश्य देखकर नांदिया अपने भाग्य को सहारा ने लगे वापस वृंदावन आने पर यशोदा रोती हुई करने लगी आज भगवान ने हमारे प्राणों की रक्षा की है तब मांझी ने बोले अरे बावली तू क्यों क्लॉथ रही है मैं किसी साधारण बालक का पीता नहीं हूं श्री कृष्णा साक्षात परम ब्रह्म परमेश्वर है मुझे कोई भी दुखी नहीं कर सकता उस समय समस्त ब्रजवासी सहित यशोदा उपनाम आदि बहुत प्रसन्न हुए
