राजा नृग का वृतांत
श्रीमद् भागवत कथा सुनाते हुए श्री सुखदेव जी से बोले हैं परीक्षित भाग मैं तुम्हें राजा नल की कथा सुनाता हूं ध्यान पूर्वक सुने सूर्यवंश में महाराज श्री महावीर के पुत्र राजा निर्भीक हुए दामों में महादानी राजा ने भी किया संख्या गांव में दान दिए जिस प्रकार आकाश के तारों का गिरना जाना संभव नहीं है उसी प्रकार निर्भीक द्वारा तान दी गई है गांव वालों की संख्या गीत सकना संभव है उन्होंने गमों की सिंह मिश्रण मार्ट काट काट कर उठा कर गांव नांदेड़ ए राजा ने एक बारदाना लेने वाले ब्राह्मण की एक गांव उठे से छूटकर राजा निर्भीक लोगों में मिलेगा और अनजाने में राजा ने एक ब्राह्मण को दान कर दिया जब वह ब्राह्मणों को लेकर जा रहा था कि मार्ग में ब्राह्मण मिला इसकी कब थी और वह उसने अपना बताने लगा तब दान लेकर जा रहे रामायण ने कहा रे भाई इस प्रकार जीत करना उचित नहीं है क्योंकि राजा निर्भीक ने अपने हाथों से इस ग्रुप को मुझे दिया है किंतु फिर भी जब मार्ग रोकने वाले ब्राह्मण में नाम आना तब दोनों झगड़ने लगे तब ना राजा निर्भीक के पास जाकर अपनी अपनी बात करने लगे राजा को जब वास्तविक ज्ञात हुआ तो उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर प्रार्थना करते हुए पानी रहे ब्राह्मण देवताओं से अनजाने में यह अपराध अवश्य हुआ है कि मेरी प्रार्थना है कि आप में से कोई मुझसे ₹10000 ले ले और दूसरे को देख परंतु वे दोनों उसी गांव के लिए लड़ते रहे उसी से ₹10000 लेना शिकार ना किया और अगर बिना किसी ने उसके घर छोड़कर खाली हां चलेंगे तब राजा के रानी को निश्चित है उतने ही दिनों जीवित रह सकता है ना उससे एक पल एक पल ज्यादा समय अनुसार राजा निर्भीक की मृत्यु हुई और उसके प्राणों को लेकर यमराज के पास पहुंचे पाप और पुण्य के अनुसार नर्क और स्वर्ग प्रदान करने वाले धर्मराज ने सम्मान सहित राजा निर्भीक व संप्रदान करने के उपरांत बोले राजधानियों में श्रेष्ठ ज्ञान में उत्तम आपने अपने जीवन काल में बहुत अपने कर्म किया किंतु आपसे बात कर भी हुए हैं जो पुण्य की तुलना में बहुत कम है आप स्वयं नीचे करें कि पहले पाप कर्म का फल भोगना चाहेंगे आप अपने कर्मों का यमराज के वचनों को सुनकर राजा ने कहा था मैं पाप कर्मों का फल भोगना चाहता हूं उसी समय उसे गिरगिट की योनि प्राप्त हो गई और एक कुएं में जा गिरी एक दिन यदुवंशियों के बालक खेलते हुए के पास गए तब बाहर शुद्धि स्वभाव के कारण हुए में झांक कर देखने लगे वहां एक विचित्र प्रकार के जंतु को लटका कर देख कर रस्सी हाथ डालकर उसे निकालने का प्रयास करने लगे किंतु उसका हर प्रयास सफल रहा था वह वापस लौट गए और श्री कृष्ण जी के चित्र जी ने कहा कि हो सभी भक्तों ने उसे निकालने का बहुत प्रयास किया किंतु वह जीव इतना भारी था कि बाहर ही नहीं निकला बालकों के मुख से कुएं में लटके गिरगिट का प्रधान सुनकर स्वयं श्री कृष्णा जी वहां गए आप क्षण मात्र में उसे बाहर निकाल लिया है राजन श्री कृष्णा जी के कर कमलों का स्पर्श होते ही राजा निर्भीक का स्वरूप बदल गया तत्पश्चात उन्होंने भगवान को प्रणाम किया उस समय संसारी प्राणियों को देखने के लिए कृष्ण जी ने पूछा है यह प्रश्न आप कौन हैं और आप कैसी गति क्यों हुई तब राजा निर्गुण बिना भाव सिपाही स्वामी आप तीनो लोको सावधान भगवान के मालिक हैं आपसे कोई बात कैसे चुप रह सकती है महाराज देवताओं का पुत्र राजा निर्भीक और अपने पाप कर्मों का फल भोग रहा था आप भी प्रकार से मेरी मुक्ति हो गई तत्पश्चात राजा निर्भीक ने पूरा वृतांत बताते हुए कहा मैंने ब्राह्मण की गाने में अपनी समझ कर दूसरे ब्राह्मण को दान दे दिया था उसी का डंड मुझे यमराज जी ने दिया और गिरगिट बंद कर भेजते समय अभी कहा कि कृष्णा जी का अवतर होगा तब तुम्हारी मुक्ति होगी हे भगवान आपकी कृपा से आज मेरी मूर्ति हो गई या आगरा जाने की कौन से प्रणाम यह और स्वार्थ से आए हुए दिव्या विमान पर चढ़कर चली गई
