जरासंघ का वध की कथा

श्री सुखदेव जी बोले हैं परीक्षित श्री कृष्णा चंद्र जी को सेना सहित सम्मान पूर्वक ठहराने के उपरांत हाथ जोड़कर निवेदन करते हुए धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर बोले जगदीश आपके दर्शन प्राप्त मनप्रीत हो गया आपके चरण जिस देश की धरती पर पड़ जाता है वहां की धरती आप को सौभाग्यशाली समझते हैं चराचर जगत के स्वामी आपके दर्शन मात्र से प्राणियों की समस्त अभिलाषा पूर्ण हो जाती है मेरी भी पूर्ण हुई है अब आप कृपा करके यह कार्य कीजिए जिससे मेरा राजसूय यज्ञ निर्मित पूर्ण हो और उसका उत्तम पर मुझे प्राप्त हो धर्मराज के वचनों को सुनकर श्री कृष्ण चंद्र जी सदैव की बातें मुस्कुराते हुए युधिष्ठिर तुम्हारे विचार श्रेष्ठ है रात सूर्य के करने से उत्तम गति की प्राप्ति होती है और जगत में अमर कृति स्थापित होती है अतः यज्ञ को पूर्ण करने के लिए तुम अपने भाइयों का यह आज्ञा दो कि वे चारों दिशाओं में जाकर समस्त छोटे बड़े राजाओं को युद्ध में पराजित कर बहुत साधन द्रव्य आदि लेकर आया जिसे यज्ञ संपन्न आपके सभी भाई महावीर एवं प्रतापी हैं श्री कृष्ण के वचन को शिरोधार्य करके युधिष्ठिर ने अपने भाई को चारों दिशाओं में भेजा पुरवा की और भीमसेन गए उत्तर की ओर अर्जुन दक्षिण की ओर सहदेव और पश्चिम की ओर नकुल ने प्रस्थान किया उसके साथ बहुत से सैनिक भी थे उन्हें देख कर दी इस देश के राजाओं ने अपने अधीन था हार की जीत राजा से सस्ता से स्वीकार नहीं किया उन्हें अपने हरियाणा कौशल से प्राप्त की इस तरह जो साधन द्रव्य रत्ना आदि लेकर वापस लौटे तो श्री कृष्णा जी मैं प्रेम पूर्वक उनसे पूछा कि आखिर राजा तुम्हारे छात्र के नीचे आ गए अथवा अभी कोई ऐसा राजा सेठ जी से तुम्हारी अधीनता स्वीकार ना कि होता हुए चारों भाई कहने लगे हे प्रभु प्रदेश के राजा जरासंध अभी बाकी है तब श्री कृष्णा हंसकर बोले हे युधिष्ठिर जरा शाम को जब तक तुम पराजित नहीं करते तब तक तुम्हारा यज्ञ कैसे होगा अतः तुम उसे जीतने का उपाय करो जरा शाम को पराजित करने के लिए धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर अपने विचार करने लगे तब श्री मुरली मनोहर भाई तुम अपने मन में चिंता स्थान ना दो हम अभी अर्जुन भीमसेन को लेकर जरासंध के निकट जाते हैं वह एक असाधारण योद्धा है इसलिए उन्हें अन्य राजाओं की भांति सम्मान पूर्वक से पराजित कर पाना असंभव है अतः उसके साथ हम छल करके इस तरह धर्मराज के हित में धीरज धारण कराया कि हुए अपने संघर्ष को लेकर 30 को चल प्रदेश के निकट पहुंचते श्री कृष्ण जी ने कहा जरा सा अपने वास्तविक स्वरूप में जितना होगा क्योंकि वह मुझे एक दृष्टि में ही पहचान जाता है ब्राह्मण यात्रा का रूप धारण कर लो उसके वचनों को स्वीकार कर अर्जुन एवं टीम ने उनके अनुरूप कार्य किया है परिचित मायाधर प्रभु की माया निराली है सदैव भिन्न भिन्न प्रकार की माया रचते तत्पश्चात अर्जुन भीम और सृष्टि के सृजन हार भगवान वासुदेव प्रवेश नगर में प्रविष्ट हुए और जरासंध के द्वार पर जा पहुंचे कर द्वारपाल से बोले हैं भाई द्वारपाल तुम अपने घर आजा से जाकर कहो कि द्वार पर तीन या चार ब्राह्मण आए हैं द्वारपाल उसी क्षण भीतर जाकर जरा सुन को सूचना दी ब्राह्मण गाड्याचं आपके घर पर आया जानकर यारा संग नंगे पांव बाहर आया और हाथ जोड़कर उसके समस्त नतमस्तक होकर बोला है ब्राह्मण देवता आपने मुझे दर्शन देकर कृत किया है कृपा करके आप लोग भीतर चली और भोजन ग्रहण कीजिए जरा संघ के वचन को सुंदर श्री कृष्णा जी मन मन मुस्कुराते हुए ब्राह्मण के स्वरूप अनुसार व्यवहार करते हुए जोर बोले हे राजन तुम्हारा कल्याण हो आपके यश को सुनकर हम बहुत दूर से पैदल चलकर आए हैं हमने सुना है कि ब्राह्मणों और यात्रियों को कभी आपने तो हार से निराश होकर खाली हाथ जाने नहीं देते हे राजन हमने सुना है कि राजा हरिश्चंद्र के यहां ऋषि विश्वामित्र याचक बनकर गए और उन्हें विश्वामित्र को अपना संपूर्ण राजदान दे दिया तथा स्वयं दरिद्र होकर गंगा जी के घाट पर जा कर दो मुर्दा जलाने वाले नीच कार्य करने लगे तत्पश्चात उसके सत्य की परीक्षा लेने के लिए विश्वामित्र जी उसके पास जाकर कहने लगे कि यदि तुम चाहो तो मैं तुम्हारा राज वापस कर देता हूं किंतु राजा हरिश्चंद्र ने राजना लिया और सत्य पूर्वक अपना जीवन पर अडिग रहे पुत्र को सांप ने डस लिया और मृत्यु को प्राप्त हुआ उसके मृतक शरीर को लेकर आनी उस घाट पर सौदा करने आए उसी समय राजा हरिश्चंद्र ने घाट का कर मांगा जी से पूर्ण करने के लिए रानी ने अपना आंचल पार राजा बलि राजा को तिलों का दान दिया यही विचार कर हम तीनो आपके द्वारा आए हैं हमें निराश नहीं प्राप्त होगी रे राजन राजा भरत री देव की कथा जग विख्यात है उन्होंने 48 दिन का समय भूखे रहकर व्यतीत किया तब 49 में दिन कहीं से थोड़ा सा मिला तो भोजन तैयार कर जिस समय भोजन करने बैठे उसी समय एक दरिद्र ब्राह्मण उसके निकट आकर बोला हे राजा में कई महीनों से भूखा हुआ था कृपा करके आप मुझे भोजन दे उसी घड़ी राजा रंतिदेव ने स्वयं भूखे रहकर ब्राह्मण को भोजन दिया शिवि ने करतूर की प्राण रक्षा के लिए अपने शरीर का मांस काटकर तराजू पर रख दिए जब वह हमास करतूत के बाहर के बराबर ना तब तलवार उठा कर अपना सिर काटने जा रहे थे उसी समय करतूतों की अग्नि देवताओं की योग्यता कर दिया और आशीर्वाद दिया कि हे राजन तुम्हारा नाम जग में सदैव अमर रहेगा हे राजन मैंने सुना है कि तुम भी सभी रानियों के समान महादानी हो जिस समय ब्राह्मण वेश में आए हुए कृष्ण अर्जुन और भीम सिंह उक्त बातें कर रहे थे उसी समय जरा संघ की दृष्टि उसकी उंगलियों और कलाइयों में दिखाई दे रही थी धनुष की तरह का वह पहचान गया और वह यहां जान गया कि याचक बनकर आए हुए तीनों प्राणी ब्राह्मण नहीं है इनके स्वभाव शरीर के कांड आदि से प्रतीत होता है कि यह छतरी हैं फिर भी उसने प्रत्यक्ष में कुछ ना कहा अभी तो मन ही मन विचार करने लगा कि तिरलोक विजेता राजा बलि को दान लेने आए वामन भगवान की वास्तविक से जब प्राचार्य जी अवगत कराया की यह कोई साधारण याचक नहीं बल्कि समस्त नारायण है उसे तीन पग भूमि मांग रहे हैं उस तीन पग में तीनों लोगों को नाप कर दो अदाओं को दे देंगे और तुम दरिद्र हो जाओगे यह ज्ञात बनन पर राजा बलि ने कहा हे गुरुदेव दानी को यह कदापि विचार नहीं करना चाहिए कि आजाद किस वस्तु को योजना के लिए आया है यदि दान देने वाला परमेश्वर विचार कर दान करता तो वह दानी नहीं कहा जाता फिर यह तो बड़े हर्ष की बात है कि स्वयं त्रिलोकीनाथ मेरे सम्मुख याचक बनकर आए हैं सो उन्होंने वामन भगवान को तीन पग भूमि दान दे दिया जाता हम मेरे द्वार पर आए हुए 3 प्राणी चाहे ब्राह्मण हो अथवा छतरी माय इनकी याचना को अवश्य पूर्ण करूंगा ऐसा विचार करवा प्रयत्न में बोला है ब्राह्मणों तुम्हें किस वस्तु की अभिलाषा है तुम निर्भय होकर कहो मैं उसे पूर्ण करूंगा हे राजा परीक्षित जरासंध के वचनों को सुनकर श्री कृष्णा जी मन मन मुस्कुराते हुए बोले हे राजन् तुम महावीर और बलशाली हो तथा युद्ध कौशल में पारंगत हो जो क्षत्रियों की शोभा होती है हम दूसरे युद्ध की याचना करते हैं कि कृष्ण के वचन को सुन कचरा संघ बोला है मानव श्रेष्ठ मुझे इस बात का पूर्वानुमान हुआ है कि तुम ब्राह्मण नहीं किंतु संकोच एवं चरित्र में दाग लगाने के भय से मैं कुछ ना कह सका अतः आप अपना वास्तविक परिचय दें पुनः श्री कृष्णा जी बोले है जरा संघ तुझसे तुम पूर्व परिचित हो मैं यदुवंशी कृष्णा और मेरे साथ धनुर्धर अर्जुन और महाबली भीमसेन है हम तीनों प्राणियों में से तुम किस से युद्ध करना चाहोगे कृष्णा जी के वचन को सुनकर जरा संघ ने कहा है कृष्णा तुम मुझसे युद्ध में एक बार पराजित हो चुके हुआ था मैं पराजित व्यक्ति से युद्ध नहीं करूंगा और अर्जुन इसलिए युद्ध नहीं करूंगा कि राजा विराट के यहां 1 वर्ष का हिजड़ा बंद कर रहा जो ना तो स्त्रियों की श्रेणी में आते हैं और ना पुरुषों की श्रेणी में इससे युद्ध में विजई होना भी अपमानजनक है तदुपरांत भीमसेन की ओर देखकर बोला युद्ध में मेरे सामने वाली फर्स्ट सरी वाला भीम सेना से युद्ध करना गौरव की बात है यह कह कर उसने अपने सेवकों को दो लोहे की गदा लाने की आज्ञा थी जब से वह लाकर दिया तब जरासंधा भीमसेन को देखकर काहे भीम सेना युद्ध करो राजा परीक्षित जरासंध और भीम की गदा युद्ध आरंभ हो गया दोनों महाबली यह दूसरों पर भीषण प्रहार करने लगे गदाधारी की तारा हिट से चिंगारी निकलने लगी दोनों महाबली मत गजराज की भांति अपने शत्रु को मारना डालना चाहते थे किंतु लड़ते-लड़ते संध्या हो गया और युद्ध नीति के अनुसार सूर्यास्त होने पर बंद करके अर्जुन भीम श्री कृष्ण और जरासंध वापस मोहल्ला उठाया और एक साथ भोजन किए पूरे होने पर युद्ध में इस तरह कई दिनों तक युद्ध चलता रहा जब किसी की कदर टूट जाती तो दूसरा उस पर प्रहार ना डालता था और जब तक कि वह दूसरी कदम उठा लेता था जरासंध और भीम सेन के बीच धर्म युद्ध हो रहा था हे राजन लड़ते-लड़ते इसमें दिन बीत हो गए और साथ में दिन जब दोनों की गदा टूट गई तब हुए मल युद्ध करने लगे तब जरासंध भीम सेन की छाती में ऐसा मुक्का मारा की भीमसेन के छक्के छूट गए और व्याकुल होकर पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़े उसी समय सूर्यास्त हो रहा था होता है युद्ध बंद हो गया पुनः आज आप 28 के दिन युद्ध के लिए जाने लगे तो भीमसेन ने कहा है यदुनाथ मैंने जरा संघ पर अपनी गदा से बहुत मारा किंतु वह मरता ही नहीं और मैं भी लड़ते-लड़ते निगह हो गया हूं मेरी शक्ति क्षीण होने लगी है यह राजन भीमसेन के वचनों को सुनकर श्री कृष्ण चंद्र ने उसके मस्तक पर अपना भाई हाथ फेर कर नई शक्ति प्रदान कर मधुर मुस्कान के मध्य बोले हैं भैया भीमसेन आज तुम जरा संघ से अपनी पूर्ण शक्ति लगाकर युद्ध करो कृष्ण की आज्ञा पाकर भीमसेन लड़ने लगे लड़ते-लड़ते जब दोपहर होने को आया उस समय वृक्ष की छाया में खड़े श्री कृष्णा चंद्र जी ने भूमि पर गिरे एक इनका उठाया और भीमसेन को दिखाते हुए हुए छेड़ से एक सिर को भूमि पर रखकर पैर से दबाया और बीच से चीर कर दो भाग कर दिया और दोनों भाग को विपरीत दिशाओं में फेंक दिया उसका संकेत समझ कर उसी क्षण भी मिले जरासंध को पृथ्वी पर पटक कर उसी की एकता का पर अपना पैर रखकर चीर डाला और उसके तन को दो टुकड़ों में विपरीत दिशाओं में फेंक दिया किंतु पूर्व दिशा वाले भाग को पश्चिम की ओर पश्चिम दिशा वाले भाग को पूर्व की ओर फेंक दिया उसी समय राशन की मृत्यु हो गई तब भीमसेन ने भगवान श्रीकृष्ण से पूछा है भगवान जरासंध मेरी गदा से प्रहार से क्यों नहीं मार रहा था भीमसेन के प्रश्न का उत्तर देते हुए श्यामसुंदर जी को उन्हें समझाते हुए कहने लगे हैं भैया भीम जरासंध का जन्म किस युग में हुआ था अर्थात जिस तरह सामान्य बालक जन्म लेते हैं उस तरह ना पैदा हो करवा दो भागों में पैदा हुआ था जिसे उसकी माता ने राक्षस समझ कर बाहर फेंक दिया हुआ है जरा नाम की एक राक्षस सी रहती थी उसने उस बच्चे के दोनों टुकड़ों को उठाकर जोर दिया और जरा राक्षसी नी संधि जोड़ती थी जिससे उस बालक का नाम जरा संग हुआ जिससे तुमने युद्ध में मार डाला भगवान श्री कृष्ण के वचनों को सुनकर भीमसेन आती विनती होकर बोले हे भगवान आपकी कृपा से मैंने जरासंध का वध किया आप आप वह कार्य कीजिए जिससे सबका कल्याण हो तब श्री कृष्णा जी ने जरा संघ के पुत्र सहदेव का राजतिलक कर मध्य देश का राजा बना दिया
