दुर्वासा ऋषि को अपमानित करना

हे राजन एक बार वे तीनों मित्र वन में शिकार के लिए गए शिकार करते हुए हुए सिद्धियों और मुनियों द्वारा सेवित पुष्कर नामक सरवर पर पहुंच गए तथा के होने के कारण उन्होंने वहां आराम किया और अपनी प्यास बुझाई फिर निकट ही एक तीसरा आश्रम को देखकर वे तीनों पैदल ही वहां से चल पड़े वह कश्यप ऋषि का आश्रम था कश्यप ऋषि मुनियों के साथ वहां वैष्णो नामक यज्ञ कर रहे थे उन सब से मिलकर पास ही स्थित दुर्वासा ऋषि के आश्रम पर गए दुर्वासा उस समय लाल को अपनी धारण करके बैठे हुए थे तुम दुर्वासा महा को भी प्रचंड तेज और उग्र वीर वाले ऋषि है उनके को धगनी तीनों लोकों में को भस्म कर देने में समर्थ है अतः आपको पिता अवस्था में देवता भी उसकी ओर देखने का साहस नहीं कर सकते हंस और निगम बा ऐसे परम तेजस्वी दुर्वासा को कयास वस्तुओं के लाल को अपने को देखकर उसका अपमान करते हुए हंसने लगे वह बोले समस्त आश्रम में श्रेष्ठ गृहस्थ आश्रम को छोड़कर यहां एकांत में विचित्र वेद धारण किया तपस्या का अध्ययन करने वाला यह पाखंडी कौन है गृहस्था का जीवन माता की भांति सदैव सबका पोषण करने वाला और धर्म क्यों होता है अन्य किसी भी आश्रम में लोग त्योहार परोपकार तथा अतिथि सत्कार आदि की वैसे सुविधा प्रबंध व मर्यादा नहीं होती अन्य सभी आश्रमों में तो मात्रा अपनी स्वार्थ की सिद्धि का की विधान होता है अतः निश्चय ही गृहस्थ समस्या आश्रमों में सर्वोपरि है फिर यह कौन मूर्खता उत्तम आश्रम का त्याग कर सन्यासी बंद कर यहां आश्रम बनाकर लोगों के साथ ठगी कर रहा है और किसके ध्यान में लीन होने का ढोंग रचाया रहा है ऐसा करते हुए आपने दुर्भाग्य के वशीभूत होते हुए हुए दोनों जनार्दन द्वारा रोके जाने के बाद भी जनाधार को भी साथ लेकर दुर्वासा ऋषि के पास जा पहुंचे और उसने उनसे कहने लगे या कौन महामूर्ख है तुम्हारा गुरु बना बैठा है ऐसा लगता है यह स्वयं किसी योग गुरु से शिक्षा नहीं मिली इसलिए यह विचित्र वेश धारण कर यह पाखंड पर रहा है और तुम सबको ठग रहा है आज हम तुम्हारे इस ढोंगी गुरु सहित तुम सब को गृहस्थ आश्रम में भेजकर ही जाएंगे क्योंकि राजा होने के नाते यह हमारा दायित्व है तब सभी शिष्यों ने उन दोनों भाइयों के अनिष्ट की आशंका से कांपते हुए आपने महा क्रोधी आचार्य दुर्वासा की और भयभीत होकर देखा हुए अपने गुरु का क्रोध जानते थे अभी किसी भी क्षण दुर्वासा की कोख दष्टि उन दोनों भाइयों को राख का ढेर बना देने वाली थी तभी जनाधर दुर्वासा को नमस्कार करता हुआ हंस और दीपक से बोला मित्रों आप इस लोक और परलोक दोनों के लिए भयंकर ऐसा वचन मत कहो मैंने तुमको पहले भी मना किया था अब फिर कहता हूं यह साल दंड की भांति भयंकर तेज वाले महर्षि दुर्वासा है जो आपने बाधा को तथा फूल सहित जीवित रहने की इच्छा रखते हैं उन्हें दुर्वासा को कभी भी खुद नहीं करना चाहिए अतः आप इन से क्षमा मांग लो अन्यथा इसी क्षण अपनी आयु और सौभाग्य को नष्ट हुआ समझो मित्र होने के नाते आप के हित की बात कहना मेरा दायित्व था अब आगे जैसी तुम लोगों की इच्छा अगर तुम लोग नष्ट हो जाएंगे तो मैं भी सिर पटक पटक कर ही हूं प्राण त्याग दूंगा मैं भी अकेले वापस नहीं जाएगा अतः भली प्रकार विचार कर लो दुर्वासा द्वारा प्रेरित हुए दोनों भाई अपने मित्र की बात सुनकर हंसने लगे और दुर्वासा के साथ-साथ अपने उस श्रेष्ठ बुद्धि मित्र जनार्दन सभी उपहास करने लगे तब उसने महा तेजस्वी प्रशन क्रोध वेग वाले उग्र स्वभाव के महर्षि दुर्वासा क्रोधित हो गए
