वन में पहुंचकर भरत जी बड़े प्रेम भाव से रामचंद्र जी से मिले और उनके हाथ जोड़कर बोल भाई आप मेरे साथ चलकर अयोध्या का राज का संभाले क्योंकि मैं राजगद्दी पर नहीं बैठ सकता भारत जी की बात सुनकर रामचंद्र जी ने उन्हें बड़े प्रेम भाव से पिता श्री के वचनों की बात बताई और कहा कि वह पिता को दिया हुआ वचन नहीं तोड़ सकते इसलिए तुम अयोध्या जाकर राजकाज संभालो अपने बड़े भाई रामचंद्र जी के समझाने पर भारत की उदास मन से राज का संभालने के लिए अयोध्या वापस चल पड़ लेकिन चलने से पूर्व उन्होंने रामचंद्र जी से उसकी दोनों खड़ाई के लिए फिर अयोध्या पहुंचकर भारत जी ने राजमहल में जाकर राज सिंहासन पर रामचंद्र जी के खड़ाऊ रखकर एक सहायक की तरह अयोध्या का राजकाज देखने लगे इधर रामचंद्र जी 11 घूमते हुए एक अति भयंकर वन दंड कार्य में पहुंचे और वहां पर रामचंद्र जी ने विराट नमक निशाचर का वध किया और दोनों महान तपस्वी को दर्शन देकर उन्हें मृत किया महान ऋषि अगस्त्य के कथा अनुसार रामचंद्र जी ने इंद्र के धनुष हुआ एक तार कारण और कृपाण को प्राप्त किया यह तरकश बहुत अद्भुत था इस तरकश में रखे हुए बाद कभी काम नहीं होते थे फिर रामचंद्र जी ने लक्ष्मण व सीता जी के साथ इस वैन में निवास किया रामचंद्र जी ने अपने भाई लक्ष्मण जी वह सीता जी के साथ वन में निवास कर रहे थे तो एक दिन उसे वन में रहने वाले समस्था ऋषि गांड रामचंद्र जी के पास पहुंचे और उनसे असुरों का वध करने की ऋषियों की बात सुनकर उन्हें वचन दिया कि वह समस्त असुरों का वध करेगा इस वैन में सूर्पनखा नामक राक्षसी रहती थी जो अत्यधिक कम प्रिया थी वह सदैव अनेक रूपों में वन में विचरण करती रहती थी एक दिन रामचंद्र जी ने लक्ष्मण द्वारा सूर्पनखा राक्षसी के नाम कान काट दिया शूर्पणखा के नाक कान काटने की खबर सुनते ही उसे वन में समसा रक्षा रामचंद्र जी से युद्ध करने के लिए आ गया रामचंद्र जी ने उसे दिन वन में 14000 राक्षसों का वध किया रामचंद्र जी द्वारा राक्षसों का वध की खबर जब असुरों के महाराज रावण को पता चली तो वह क्रोध में आग बबूला हो गया और अशोक राज ने अपने मामा वर्जित के द्वारा रामचंद्र जी से बदला लेने की ठान ली फिर असुर राज ने अपने मामा मस्जिद को अपने पास बुलाया और उन्हें रामचंद्र जी द्वारा असुरों का वध करने व उन्हें प्रतिशोध होने की बात कही असुर राज की बात सुनकर रक्षा मस्जिद असुर राज रावण से बोल असुर राज रामचंद्र जी जैसे महान सब महान बलशाली से शत्रुता करना अपनी मृत्यु को निमंत्रण देना है लेकिन असुर राज ने मस्जिद को इस बात पर छिड़क दिया फिर मर्जी दासु राज की आज्ञा अनुसार स्वर्ण अमीर हिरण बनाकर वन में उसे स्थान पर जा पहुंचा जहां पर रामचंद्र जी लक्ष्मण जी वह सीता जी निवास करते थे अपनी कुटिया के आगे इतना सुंदर मिल्क हिरण देखकर सीता जी ने रामचंद्र जी से मृग हिरण लेने की इच्छा प्रकट की रामचंद्र जी उसे हिरण के पीछे चल दिए जब काफी समय तक भी रामचंद्र जी वन से हिरण लेकर नहीं लौटे तो लक्ष्मण जी उनकी तलाश में वन को चले गए और जाने से पहले कुटिया के बाहर एक रेखा लक्ष्मण रेखा खींचकर सीता जी को उसे पर न करने की हिदायत देते दे दिए थे लक्ष्मण जी के वन में जाते ही असुर राज साधु वेश में सीता जी के पास कुटिया पर भिक्षा मांगने आया जब सीता जी दीक्षा देने आई तो वह साधु वेश में असुर राज उनसे बोला आप मुझे भिक्षा कुटिया से बाहर आकर दिन सीता जी जैसे ही कुटिया से बाहर लक्ष्मण रेखा पर आई तो आंसू राज ने तुरंत ही सीता जी का हरण कर लिया और उन्हें वायुयान द्वारा आकाश मार्ग द्वारा ले जाने लगा
