सगर सौदास खट्वागं और प्रभु श्री राम के चरित्र का वर्णन
श्री पाराशर जी बोले है मैथिली कश्यप की पुत्री सुमित तथा विभव राज की पुत्री कैसे में ए राजा सागर की तो पटिया थी उसमें से संतान उत्पत्ति के लिए परम समाधि द्वारा आराधना किए जाने पर और ऋषि ने यह वार दिया एक से वंश की वृद्धि करने वाला पुत्र तथा दूसरी से 60 हजार पुत्र उत्पन्न होंगे इसमें से जिसको जो अच्छा लगे हुआ है इच्छा पूर्वक इस को ग्रहण कर सकती है उनके ऐसे कहने पर कैसिनी ने एक और सुमति ने 6000 पुत्रों का वर्क मांगा महर्षि के तट स्थापित करने पर कुछ ही दिनों में देश ने के वश में वृद्धि करने वाले उसके गर्व से असमंजस नामक पुत्र ने 60000 पुत्रों को जन्म दिया राजकुमार असमंजस के आयुष्मान नमक के पुत्र हुआ आयुष्मान असमंजस बलिया उस्ताद से ही बहुत दुराचारी था उसके पिता ने सोचा की बालियां अवस्था भी जाने पर यह समझदार हो जाएगा परंतु युवा हो जाने पर भी जब उसके आचरण में कोई सुधार नहीं वह आया तो पिता उसे त्याग दिए उसके 60000 पुत्रों में असमंजस के चरित्र का ही अनुसरण किया अतः समस्त देवगन प्रभु पुरुषोत्तम के अंश भूत श्री कपिल देव के पास जाकर प्रणाम कर बोले हे प्रभु राजा सागर के समस्त पुत्र आसमान आसमान के ही चरित्र का अनुसरण कर रहे हैं इन सबके आसान मार्ग पर चलने से जगत की क्या दशा होगी हे प्रभु इस संसार में दिन जनों की रक्षा करने के लिए ही आपने यह शरीर ग्रहण किया है अतः इस घोर संकट से सागर की रक्षा कीजिये देव गानों की बात सुनकर भगवान कपिल बोल क यह सारे ही दिनों में नष्ट हो जाएंगे इस समय सागर ने अश्वमेध यज्ञ शुरू किया उसे यज्ञ में उसके पुत्रों द्वारा सुरक्षित घोड़े को किसी व्यक्ति ने चुरा लिया था वह स्त्री प्रीत में घुस गया तब उसे घोड़े के फूलों के कॉन का अनुसरण करते हुए उनके पुत्रों में से प्रत्येक ने एक-एक योजन पृथ्वी की खुदाई कर डाली और पाताल में पहुंचने पर उन राजकुमारों ने अपने घोड़े को इधर-उधर घूमते हुए देखा और पास में ही सूर्य के समान अपने तेज से समस्त दिशाओं को प्रकाशित करते हुए घोड़े को चुराने वाले कपिल मुनि को सर झुकाए हुए बैठे देखा मुनि को देखते ही हुए दूर आत्मा आपने अपने अपने हाथों में अस्त्र-शस्त्र लेकर इस घोड़े चुराने वाले को मारो यह कहते हुए कपिल मुनि की तरफ दौड़े भगवान कपिल मुनि ने आंख बंद कर देख उसके देखते ही हुए सब अपने शरीर से उत्पन्न हुए अग्नि में जलकर भस्म हो गए महाराज सागर को जब मालूम हुआ की घोड़े का अनुसरण करने वाले उसके सारे पुत्र कपिल मुनि के तेज द्वारा भस्मिथ हो गए तो राजा ने असमंजस के पुत्र अंशुमन को घोड़ा लाने के लिए कहा वह सागर पुत्रों द्वारा होते हुए रास्ते से पाताल में कपिल मुनि के पास पहुंचा और भक्ति विनय होकर उसकी स्तुति की तब कपिल मुनि ने उसे कहा पुत्र इस घोड़े को ले जाकर अपने दादा को दे देना और तेरी जो इच्छा हो वह वर्मा हो तेरा पुत्र स्वर्ग से गंगा जी को पृथ्वी पर लेगा

When Maharaj Sagar came to know that all his sons who were following the horse were burnt to ashes by the glory of Kapil Muni. So the king asked Anshuman, the son of Asmanjas, to bring a horse. He reached Kapil Muni in the underworld via the Sagar Putras and praised him with devotion and humility. Then Kapil Muni told him, son, take this horse to your grandfather. Give it and whatever your wish is, Varma, your son will take Ganga ji from heaven to earth.
