ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा है नारद जब राजा हिमाचल में पुरोहित एवं नई के झगड़े का हाल सुना तो उन्होंने दोनों को अपने पास बुलाकर या कहा कि तुम दोनों गिरजा के वार का हाल का सुनाओ या सुनकर पुरोहित ने उत्तर दिया है प्रभु आपकी आज्ञा अनुसार मैं सर्वप्रथम गिरजा के पास गया फिर गिरजा किया गया प्रकार कैलाश पर्वत पर जा पहुंचा और वह शिवजी को तिलक चढ़ा आया मैं शिव जी का पूजन किया फिर उसकी स्तुति करते हुए यह कहा कि तीनों लोग आपकी सेवक है आता है आप कृपा करके गिरजा के साथ विवाह करना स्वीकार कर लीजिए मेरी बात सुनकर पहले तो शिव जी ने मन ही मन किया परंतु फिर मेरी प्रार्थना को स्वीकार कर लिया मैं उन्हें तिलक चढ़ा कर लौट आया है राजा एन शिव जी सब प्रकार से गिरिजा के पति उन्हें योग्य हैं तीनों लोक में उसे उसने बड़ा और कोई नहीं है सब लोग पाल फुल श्री शिव जी की महिमा का वर्णन करते हैं उन्होंने चलते समय मुझे भस्म दी थी जिसे मेरे घर में सब प्रकार के सुख समृद्धि उपस्थित हुई है इतना कहकर पुरोहित अपने घर चला गया हे नाथ पुरोहित के जाने के बाद नहीं आया वह है-है करता हुआ राजा हिमाचल से बोला है राजन आपकी पुरोहित ने सब काम बिगाड़ दिया वह स्थान ऐसा निर्जन था कि वहां एक भी मनुष्य दिखाई नहीं देता था कुछ और आगे चलकर शब्द वृक्ष के नीचे बैठा हुआ केवल एक मनुष्य दिखाई दिया उसका रूप आंदोलन जैसे था वह जोगियो के समान ध्यान मग्न बैठा हुआ था उपरोहित ने बिना पूछे ही उसे तिलक चढ़ा दिया पहले यद्यपि मैं बहुत रोका किंतु पुरोहित ने मेरी एक बात नहीं मानी उसे च** के पास एक बेल के अतिरिक्त और कुछ नहीं था चलते समय उसने हमें कुछ ध्यान भी नहीं दिया केवल एक-एक मुट्ठी भस्म पकड़ा दी है राजन जो सच्ची बात थी वह मैंने कहा सुनाई अब जो आप उचित समझे वह करें हे नारद की समाचार को सुनकर हिमाचल को तो कुछ ही खेद हुआ परंतु मैं को बहुत चिंतन उत्पन्न हुई उन्होंने हिमाचल से कहा है स्वामी मैं जब से यह सुना है कि पुरोहित ने एक भिखारी के साथ में श्री पुत्री का विवाह निश्चय किया है तब से मुझे बहुत चिंता हो रही है मैंने यह भी सुना है कि वह अवधूत बहुत कुरूप और सत्य तथा मूर्ख है मेरी पुत्री परम सुंदरी है तब भला ऐसा पति के साथ उसका विवाह किस प्रकार किया जा सकता है हे नारद हिमाचल में यह सुनकर जब अपने मित्रों को सब वृतांत सुनाया तब उनमें से किसी ने यह बताया कि तुम्हारे धन्य भाग्य है जो गिरजा कैसे श्रेष्ठ पति की प्राप्ति हुई है और किसी ने यह कहा कि ऐसे वर के साथ विवाह करना उचित नहीं है क्रिया का विवाह तो किसी राजा के साथ ही होना चाहिए हिमाचल में सब की बात सुनकर उत्तर दिया एक भाइयों जो भक्त इच्छा होती है उसमें किसी का वास नहीं चलता यह कहकर हिमाचल में यह सब वृतांत का सुनाया कि जिस प्रकार सब देवताओं में गिरजा के सब विवाह करना और स्वीकार कर दिया था फिर उन्हें यह श्राप ही बताया कि देखो शिव जी की भस्म के प्रताप से हमारा पुरोहित के घर किस प्रकार की कमी नहीं रही उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि इन सब बातों पर भली भांति विचार कर आप मुझे अपनी राय दीजिए उसी के अनुसार मैं आचरण करूंगा

Going a little further, only one man was seen sitting under the Shabda tree. His appearance was like that of a hermit. He was sitting engrossed in meditation like a yogi. Uparohita applied tilak on him without asking. Though I tried to stop him a lot, the priest did not listen to me. He had nothing except a vine with him. While leaving, he did not pay any attention to us. He only gave a handful of ashes to each of us. Rajan, I told him the truth. Now do whatever you think is right. O Narada, Himachal felt a little sad on hearing the news but I was very worried.
