हे नारद या दशा देखकर शिव जी ने अपने मन मे विचार किया कि यह क्या कारण है जो हम इस स्त्री के द्वारा चले गए ऐसा कौन सा प्रतापी है जिसने हमें ऐसा आचरण करने के लिए विवश कर दिया यह विचार कर क्यों ही उन्होंने चारों ओर दृष्टि घुमाई क्यों उन्हें अपनी भाइयों और एक वृक्ष की आड़ में छिपी हुई कामदेव दिखाई दे गया उसे समय शिव जी के भयंकर स्वरूप को देखकर तीनों लोक काटने लगे और यह प्रतीत होने लगा मानो आप पहले होने ही वाली है वस्तु शिवजी ने कामदेव पर क्रोधित हो जैसे ही अपने तीसरे नेत्र को खोल वैसे ही कामदेव जलकर भस्म हो गए उसे समय तीनों लोकों में आकर मच गया सभी देवता अत्यंत भयभीत परम दुखी तथा दिन हो गए और व्यक्तियों को अनंत प्रसन्नता हुई इतनी कथा सुनकर नाराज जी ने ब्रह्मा जी से कहा है पिता यह चरित्र सुनकर मुझे अत्यंत आश्चर्य होता है शिवजी राम-रामहा निष्पक्ष माया रहित योगी तीनों लोक के स्वामी तथा देवताओं के पूज्य है उनका नाम कमलजीत तथा मृत्यु जीत प्रसिद्ध है उनकी कृपा प्राप्त करके उसकी भक्ति कामदेव को अपने वश में किया रहते हैं ऐसे भगवान सदाशिव को कामदेव ने अपना लक्ष्य क्यों माना और सुगंध पूर्वक से ऊपर विजय कैसे प्राप्त कर ली यह सुनकर ब्रह्मा जी ने उत्तर दिया यह नारद मैं तुम्हें यह वृत्तांत सुन चुका हूं कि पहले मैं संध्या नमक कन्या को उत्पन्न किया था दादू प्राण मैंने मन्नत अर्थात कामदेव को जन्म दिया फिर मैं कामदेव खोया हुआ वरदान भी दिया कि तुम तीनों लोक के स्वामी बनकर सब लोगों को अपने वश में रखोगे या हाथ तक कि मैं विष्णु तथा शिव भी तुम्हारे वशीभूत हो जाएंगे मुझे यह वरदान पाकर उसने सर्वप्रथम मेरे ही ऊपर अपना बढ़ छोड़ और मुझे कुकर्म करना चाहा तब मैंने उसे या श्राप दिया कि तुम शिव के तीसरे नेत्र की ज्वाला में पड़कर भस्म हो जाओगे किसी तरह आपके कारण कामदेव ने पहले तो शिवजी को अपने वश में कर लिया साधु प्रांतवास शिव जी के तीसरे नेत्र की ज्वाला में पड़कर भस्म हो गया उसे समय शिवजी ने कामदेव को भस्म कर दिया उसे समय कुछ लोग को दुख हुआ और कुछ लोग सुखी हुए गिरजा को भी अत्यंत आश्चर्य होगा उसे समय उसके शरीर में बहुत पसीना छूटा और वह अपने सौंदर्य का आकार त्याग मौजूद हो गई उनका कमल के समान मुक्त प्रभात कालीन चंद्रमा के समान तेजस तेझिन हो गया जब साथियों ने उनकी इस अवस्था को दिखा तो वह गिरजा का हाथ पकड़ कर उनका उपचार करने लगे तब दुकान चैतन्यता प्राप्त होने पर गिरजा अत्यंत लज्जित हो अपने घर लौट आई है नारा दी इस घटना के उपरांत शिवजी भी हिमाचल पर्वत को छोड़कर अपने कैलाश पर्वत पर चले गए शिव जी के चले जाने पर क्रिया की यह दशा हुई कि वह हर समय शिव जी के चित्रों का ध्यान करते हुए उन्हें के स्मरण में स्मरण हो गई कामदेव की स्त्री राती में जब अपनी पति की मृत्यु को देखा तो वह बहुत प्रकार से विलाप कर उठी वह अपने पति के चित्रों का वर्णन करते हुए है-है शब्द का उच्चारण करती थी और अपने शरीर की शुद्ध बुद्धि को भूल बैठी थी जब उसे कुछ चैतन्यता प्राप्त हुई तब वह अपने पति के शव को संबोधित करती हुई इस प्रकार कहने लगी है स्वामी मैंने आपको पहले भी बहुत समझाया था कि शिव जी के साथ कुबेर करना उचित नहीं है परंतु आपने दूसरों से वश में पढ़ कर मेरी बात पर कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया है नरत आपने मुझे कुछ भी नहीं कहा और मुझे त्याग कर अकेले ही शिवपुरी वह चले गए आप मैं अनाथ बना कर रहा रही हूं अपने जैसा किया उसका फल अच्छी तरह का लिया यह नियम है कि संसार में कोई किसी को दुख देकर स्वयं सुखी नहीं रहता है उसे कहीं भी आनंद नहीं मिलता है ही पति आप तो शिव वर्णन में सम्मिलित हो गए परंतु अब मेरा कोई नहीं रहा इस प्रकार की बातें कहते हुए रति ने बहुत विलाप किया
