हे नारद रावण की बात सुनकर शिवजी ने दो लिंगों के रूप में विभाजित हो गए परंतु रावण उन दोनों लिंगों में मंजूषा में हराकर अपनी नगर को चल दिए इस समय शिव जी ने यह माया की की मार्ग में एक स्थान पर रावण को बड़े जोर से लघु शंका लगी रावण उसे लघु शंकर को किसी भी प्रकार रोकने में असमर्थ हो गया तब उसने यह विचार किया कि यदि यह कोई व्यक्ति मिल जाए तो मैं उसे कुछ देर के लिए क्या मंजूषाढ़ लेकर लघु शंकर कर लो तदुपरांत आगे बडूंगा इस विचार से जब रावण ने इधर-उधर दृष्टि दुदाई तो उसने एक ग्वाला दिखाई दिया जो पशुओं को चरा रहा था रावण ने उसके पास पहुंचकर कहा है बंधु तुम इस मंजूषा को कुछ देर तक उठा रहो तब तक मैं लघु शंकाय किए लेता हूं रावण की बात सुनकर गोपी ने उत्तर दिया है दशानन में एक घड़ी तक इस मंजूषा को अपने हाथ में लिए रहूंगा तब प्रांत इस पृथ्वी पर रख दूंगा गोप की यह बात रावण ने स्वीकार कर ली हे नारद एक घड़ी के स्थान पर रावण दो घड़ी तक लघु संकाय करता रहा परंतु उसकी मूत्र किसी प्रकार भी ना रुक तक उसे रोकने रावण को संबोधित करते हुए कहा है रावण तुम्हें देना समय व्यतीत हो गया आज तो मैं इस मंजूषा को पृथ्वी पर रख देता हूं इस प्रकार गोप न्यूज़ मंजूषा को पृथ्वी पर रख दिया जिससे दोनों लिंग उसी स्थान पर स्थिर हो गए जब रावण लघु शंका है करके उठा तो दोनों लिंग को उठाने का प्रयत्न करने लगा तो लिंग अपने स्थान से तनिक भी विचलित न हुई तब से हुए दोनों लिंग वही स्थित है जो लिंग पीठ की ओर था वह बैजनाथ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ उसकी गणना 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में की जाती है जो लिंग सामने की ओर था वह चंद्रपाल के नाम से प्रसिद्ध होकर गांव कारण क्षेत्र में स्थित हुआ है नारद शिवरात्रि के दिन ही शिवलिंगों का पूजन करने के हेतु देवता मुनि सिद्ध मनुष्य आदि सब लोग चारों दिशाओं से आते हैं वह सब इन लिंगो का पूजन करके निष्पाप हो जाते हैं मांग मास की कृष्ण चतुर्दशी के दिन उसे स्थान से चार कोष की दूरी तक सी है हाथी आदि सभी दुखदाई जीवन वन से भीतर भाग जाते हैं उसे स्थान किया विचित्रता संसार में प्रसिद्ध है इन विचित्र चित्रों को देखकर सब लोग जय जयकार शब्द का उच्चारण करते हैं तथा भगवान सदाशिव का गुणगान करते हैं चतुर्दशी तक शिवजी अपने पूर्ण सहित वह निवास करते हैं यह नारद शिवरात्रि का जागरण संपूर्ण मनोरथ को प्रदान करने वाला है इस कथा को जो व्यक्ति पड़ता सुनता अथवा दूसरों को सुनता है वह संसार में प्रसन्न रहकर अंत में शिव पद को प्राप्त होता है

O Narada, on hearing Ravana's words, Shivji got divided into two lingas, but Ravana defeated both the lingas and left for his city. At this time, Shivji played this magic that on the way, at one place, Ravana felt the urge to urinate very strongly. Ravana was incapable of stopping his urination in any way. Then he thought that if he finds any person, then he will take him to Manjushaad for some time and urinate thereafter, he will proceed further. With this thought, when Ravana looked around, he saw a cowherd who was grazing the animals. Ravana went to him and said, "Brother, you keep this Manjusha lifted for some time, till then I will urinate." On hearing Ravana's words, the Gopi replied, "Dashanan, I will keep this Manjusha in my hand for one hour, then I will put it on this earth." Ravana accepted the words of the Gopi, O Narada. Instead of one hour, Ravana kept urinating for two hours, but his urine could not be stopped by any means. Addressing Ravana, he said, "Ravana, you are going to urinate." The time has passed, today I will put this box on the earth. In this way Gop News put the box on the earth, due to which both the Lingas got stable at the same place. When Ravana got up after urinating, he tried to lift both the Lingas, but the Lingas did not move from their place at all. Since then, both the Lingas are situated at the same place. The Linga which was towards the back became famous by the name of Baijnath, it is counted among the 12 Jyotirlingas. The Linga which was towards the front became famous by the name of Chandrapal and is situated in the village Karan area. On the day of Narada Shivratri, to worship the Shivlings, gods, sages, Siddha humans etc. all come from all four directions. They all become sinless after worshipping these Lingas. On the day of Krishna Chaturdashi of the month of Maang, all the painful creatures like elephants etc. run away from the forest at a distance of four kos from that place. The strangeness of that place is famous in the world. On seeing these strange pictures, everyone utters the word Jai Jaikar and praises Lord Sadashiv. By Chaturdashi, Shivaji with his full form remains there. This Narada resides here. The vigil on Shivaratri is the fulfiller of all desires. The person who reads, listens or narrates this story to others remains happy in this world and finally attains the state of Shiva.
