ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद केतकी पुष्प तथा सुरभि साथ लिए हुए मैं विष्णु जी के समीप जाकर कहा कि मैं लिंग के ऊपर भाग को वास्तव में छू लिया हूं यदि आपको विश्वास ना हो तो इस दोनों साथियों से पूछ लीजिए यह सुनकर या विष्णु जी ने खेत की तथा सुरभि से पूछा तो उन्होंने यह उत्तर दिया है विष्णु जी हम पक्षपा एट रहित होकर यह बात कहते हैं कि ब्रह्मा ने शिवलिंग के ऊपरी भाग को अवश्य छू लिया है हे नारद खेत की तथा सुरभि कैसे मिथ्या वचन सुनकर शिवजी अत्यंत क्रुद्ध हुए इस समय उच्च स्वर में यह आकाशवाणी हुई अरे मूर्ख तुम धर्म के विरुद्ध झूठ क्यों बोल रहे हो ब्रह्म हमारे लिंग का स्पर्श कब कर पाए है खेत की मिथ्या भाषण के कारण हम तुम्हें शराब देते हैं कि आज से तू हमारे ऊपर नहीं चढ़ाई जाएगी तथा है सुरभि तुम्हें भी हम यह श्राप देते हैं कि जिस मूर्ख से तुमने यह बात कही है तथा अपने को नीचे बनाया है इस मुख से तुम कलयुग में मिष्ठान भाषण करोगे यह नारद कि आकाशवाणी को सुन कर मैं अत्यंत भयभीत हो गया तथा मेरा संपूर्ण अहंकार पल भर में नष्ट हो गया उसे समय मैं यह स्वीकार किया कि शिवजी हे परम ब्रह्म तथा उसके स्वामी है हम दोनों ने भयभीत होकर अपनी आंखें बंद कर ली कुछ देर बाद हम दोनों ने आंखें खोली तो शिवजी का केवल एक ही स्वरूप दिखाई देने लगा उसे समय हम दोनों ने शिवजी को अपना स्वामी स्वीकार किया हे नारद तदुपरांत मैंने तथा विष्णु जी ने हाथ जोड़कर शिवजी की बड़ी स्तुति की और यह कहा हे परम प्रभु हम आप में हमें अपना सेवक जानकर यही प्रकट होकर दर्शन दे हमारी इस प्रार्थना को सुनकर शिवाजी वहां तुरंत प्रकट हो गए उसे समय उनका जो स्वरूप था उसका किसी भी प्रकार वर्णन नहीं किया जा सकता इस समय सुरभि ने भी शिवजी की प्रार्थना करते हुए कहा हे प्रभु यद्यपि मैं बहुत बड़ा पाप किया है तो भी माया प्रार्थना करती हूं कि आप कृपा करके मेरी अपराध को क्षमा करें और मेरे मस्ताक्स पर हाथ रखें इसके अतिरिक्त मेरी यह भी इच्छा है कि मैं अपने दूध की धार से आपका अभिषेक करुंगा शिवजी ने हमारे लोगों की प्रार्थना स्वीकार कर ली दादू प्रांत वह एक बड़ी सभा का आयोजन हुआ और सब लोगों ने शिवजी का पूजन करते हुए उनका बारंबार जय जयकार किया हे नारद उसे समय शिव जी ने हम सब की स्तुति सुनकर प्रसन्न हो इस प्रकार कहा है ब्रह्मा तथा ही विष्णु हमने तुम्हारा गर्व नष्ट करने के लिए ही अपने स्वरूप में लिंग रूप में प्रकट किया था आप भविष्य में तुम कभी भी इस प्रकार अभिमान मत करना जो व्यक्ति हमारे लिंग की पूजा करेगा उसके घर में सब प्रकार सिद्धि भारी रहेगी इस प्रकार सबको वरदान देने के उपरांत शिवजी अंतर ध्यान हो गए तब अन्य सब लोगों भी शिवजी की जय जयकार करते हुए अपने अपने स्थान को चले गए हे नारद इस चरित्र को जो व्यक्ति पड़ता सुनता अथवा दूसरों को सुनता है वह इस लोक में अत्यंत प्रसाद न रहता है तथा परलोक में मोक्ष पद प्राप्त करता है

At that time, Surabhi also prayed to Shiva and said, O lord, although I have committed a great sin, still I pray that you kindly forgive my crime and put your hand on my forehead. A big gathering was organized at Dadu province and all the people worshipped Shiva and repeatedly hailed him. O Narada. At that time, Shiva was pleased to hear our praise and said, Brahma and Vishnu, we have I had manifested myself in the form of a Linga only to destroy your pride. You should never be proud like this in the future. The person who worships our Linga, his house will be blessed with all kinds of Siddhis. After blessing everyone in this manner, Lord Shiva went into deep meditation. Then all the other people also went to their places while hailing Lord Shiva. O Narada, the person who reads, listens to this story or narrates it to others, remains blessed in this world and attains salvation in the next world.
