श्री शिव महापुराण कथा आठवां खंड अध्याय 32

ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद आप मैं पापों को नष्ट करने वाले तथा मोक्ष प्रदान करने वाले काशिपति विश्वनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग का वर्णन करता हूं भगवान विश्वनाथ ब्रह्म हत्या का पाप भी दूर कर देते हैं हे नारद भगवान सदाशिव का यह वचन है कि निर्गुण सद्गुण ब्रह्म में कोई अंतर नहीं है वास्तु दोनों को एक ही रूप समझना चाहिए जब ब्रह्मा ने सद्गुण रूप धारण किया तो उन्होंने अपने शरीर द्वारा शक्ति को भी प्रगट किया इस प्रकार वह एक रूप दो रूपों में विभाजित हो गया उन्होंने अपनी प्राकृतिक स्वरूप शक्ति द्वारा लीला करने के हेतु पांच कोष के विस्तार वाले एक क्षेत्र का निर्माण किया जिसे आनंदवन काशी वाराणसी अभी मुक्त रूद्र क्षेत्र तथा मा शमशान आदि अनेक नाम से पुकारा जाता है वह स्थान शिवजी तथा उनकी शक्ति का अत्यंत प्रिय है शिव कथा शक्ति ने उसे स्थान में बहुत सा समय तक बिहार किया तदुपरांत उनकी यह इच्छा हुई कि हम किसी बलवान पुरुष को उत्पन्न करें अस्तु उन्होंने अपनी बाई भुजा द्वारा एक अत्यंत सुंदर मनुष्य को जो चार भुजाएं धारण किए हुए था उत्पन्न किया उसने जन्म लेते ही शिवजी को प्रणाम करते हुए पूछा है प्रभु मेरा क्या नाम है और आप मुझे किसी कार्य को करने की आज्ञा देते हैं हे नारद उसे पुरुष की बात सुनकर शिव जी ने कहा हे पुत्र तुम तीनों लोकों के स्वामी होने के कारण संसार में विष्णु नाम से प्रसिद्ध होगी अब तुम कठिन तपस्या करो जिससे तुम्हारा तेज की और अधिक वृद्धि हो इतना कह कर शिवजी ने विष्णु जी को श्वास मार्ग द्वारा संपूर्ण वेदों का ज्ञान प्राप्त कर दिया और स्वयं अंतर ध्यान हो गए तब शिवजी की आज्ञा मानकर विष्णु जी ने तपस्या करने के हेतु सर्वप्रथम एक पुष्करणीय को अपने हाथों से गोद फिर उसे अपने पसीने के जल से भरने के उपरांत 50 शास्त्र वर्षों तक ध्यान में मग्न हो गए जब उसे तपस्या का कोई फल नहीं मिला तब वह अत्यंत चिंतित हुए इस समय उन्हें यह आकाशवाणी सुनाई दी की है विष्णु तुम फिर तपस्या करो तब तुम्हें वर प्राप्त होगा आकाशवाणी को सुनकर विष्णु जी ने पुनः तप करना आरंभ किया उसने प्रसन्न होकर शिवजी ने शक्ति सहित प्रकट होकर विष्णु को अपना दर्शन दिया उसे समय शिव जी के कहां से एक मानिक निकाल कर उसे स्थान पर गिर पड़ी जिससे वह स्थल संसार में मनिया के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ तदुपरांत जब शिवजी ने विष्णु से वर मांगने के लिए कहा तो विष्णु जी ने उसकी स्तुति करते हुए यह प्रार्थना किया है प्रभु आप मुझे अपने भक्ति का वार दीजिए तथा इसी कृपा कीजिए जिससे या स्थान सर्वश्रेष्ठ पद को प्राप्त हो शिवाजी ने विष्णु किया प्रार्थना स्वीकार करने के उपरांत कहा है विष्णु तुम सृष्टि को उत्पन्न करने के हेतु पुणे तपस्या करो हे नारद विष्णु जी द्वारा बहुत समय तक दोबारा तपस्या करने पर भी शिवजी प्रसन्न नहीं हुए क्योंकि वह कुछ और लीला करना चाहते थे उधर तपस्या करते-करते विष्णु जी के शरीर से इतना पसीना निकल की संपूर्ण पृथ्वी जल से भर गई उसे जल को देखकर विष्णु जी अत्यंत चिंतित हुए परंतु शिवजी की माया के कारण वास्तविक भेद को नहीं जान सके जिस समय खांसी उज्जवल में डूबने लगी तब शिवजी ने उसे अपने त्रिशूल पर धारण कर ऊपर उठा लिया उसे समय शिवजी ने यह चरित्र किया कि विष्णु जी की नाभि से जो कि तालाब के समान गहरी तथा चौड़ी थी एक कमल उत्पन्न हुआ वह कमल करोड़ सूर्य के समान प्रकाशवाण था तदुपरांत शिवजी ने अपनी दाहिनी भुजा से मुझे उत्पन्न करके उसका माल के ऊपर बैठा दिया परंतु शिवजी की माया में मोहित होने के कारण मुझे यह ज्ञान ना हो सका कि मैं किस प्रकार उत्पन्न हुआ हूं उसका माल पर बैठे हुए जब मैं अपने जन्म के विषय में सोच रहा था तभी अचानक ही मुझे यह ध्यान आया कि जहां से यह कमल उत्पन्न हुआ होगा वह स्थान ही मेरी उत्पत्ति का मूल होगा अस्तु मैं उसका माल की जड़ का पता बताने के लिए कमल नल के मार्ग द्वारा नीचे की ओर चल दिया परंतु 100 वर्ष तक निरंतर चलने पर भी उसे कमल की जड़ का मूल नहीं मिला हे नारद इस समय यह आकाशवाणी हुई की तुम तपस्या करो तब तुम्हें वास्तविक भेद का ज्ञान प्राप्त होगा उसे आकाशवाणी को सुनकर मेहताब करने में लीन हो गया तदुपरांत शिवजी ने अपनी लीला द्वारा विष्णु जी को सचेत करने मेरी पास भेजो जब उन्होंने मेरे समीप आकर वह वर मांगने के लिए कहा तब मैंने उनसे पूछा कि आप कौन हैं उसे समय विष्णु जी ने यह उत्तर दिया कि हम तुम्हारे पिता हैं और संपूर्ण सृष्टि के स्वामी है यह सुनकर मैं उनसे विवाद करने लगा उसे समय शिवजी एक ज्वाला के रूप में प्रकट हुआ वह ज्वाला पृथ्वी से लेकर आकाश तक फैली हुई दिखाई दी हम दोनों उज्वला से प्रारंभिक तथा अंतिम छोर को जानने के लिए बहुत समय तक भटकते रहे परंतु जब सफलता न मिली तो इस कमल पुष्प पर आकर खड़े हो गए उसे समय शिवजी ने प्रसन्न होकर हमें अपना दर्शन दिया और यह कहा है ब्रह्मा जी तथा है विष्णु आप ब्रह्मा जी सृष्टि को उत्पन्न करने का कार्य करें तथा विष्णु जी इसका पालन करें इतना कह कर शिवजी अंतर ध्यान हो गए हे नारद शिव जी के अदृश्य हो जाने पर विष्णु जी भी अंतर ध्यान हो गए उन्होंने बैकुंठ लोक का निर्माण किया और उसी में निवास करने लगे टाङू प्रांत मैं संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड को उत्पन्न किया इस सृष्टि में जो 50 कोटी की वजन विस्तार के 14 लोक तक पृथ्वी के ऊपर नीचे 14 हो जाए दिखाई देते हैं वह सब मेरे ही द्वारा उत्पन्न किए हुए हैं भगवान सदा शिव स्वयं निर्गुण रूप से सर्वस्त्र व्याप्त है तथा मैं विष्णु और हर उसकी सदगुण रूप में प्रगट होकर सांसारिक कार्यों को किया करते हैं हे नारद शिव जी के स्वरूप दो प्रकार के कह गए हैं पहले चार तथा दूसरा अक्षर भगवान सदाशिव निर्गुण तथा साधु रूप से सब जगह विद्यमान है उसकी महिमा को कोई भी नहीं जान पता सभी प्राणियों को यह उचित है कि जब तक निर्गुण रूप का पूरा हाल ना जान ले तब तक सद्गुण रूप के जानने में लगा रहे जो भक्ति निर्गुण रूप को जान लेते हैं उसके संपूर्ण पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं

Brahma Ji said, O Narada, I am describing Kashipati Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, which destroys sins and gives salvation. Lord Vishwanath removes even the sin of killing Brahma. O Narada, this is the saying of Lord Sadashiv that there is no difference between Nirgun and Sadgun Brahma. Both should be considered as one form. When Brahma assumed the Sadgun form, he also manifested Shakti through his body. Thus that one form got divided into two forms. He created an area of ​​five kos area for performing leela through his natural form Shakti. Which is called by many names like Anandvan, Kashi, Varanasi, Mukt Rudra Kshetra and Maa Shamshan etc. That place is very dear to Lord Shiva and his Shakti. Shiva Katha: Shakti stayed in that place for a long time. Thereafter, she desired to give birth to a strong man. So, she created a very handsome man with four arms through her left arm. As soon as he was born, he bowed to Lord Shiva and asked, “Prabhu, what is my name and do you help me to do any work?” O Narada, after listening to the words of that man, Shiv Ji said, O son, because you are the lord of the three worlds, you will be famous in the world by the name of Vishnu. Now you do a tough penance so that your glory increases more. Saying this, Shiv Ji gave Vishnu Ji the knowledge of all the Vedas through his breath and himself went into inner meditation. Then, obeying Shiv Ji's order, Vishnu Ji first adopted a Pushkaraniya with his hands to do penance, then after filling it with the water of his sweat, he got engrossed in meditation for 50 years. When he did not get any result of the penance, he became very worried. At this time, he heard a heavenly voice that Vishnu, you do penance again, then you will get the boon. After listening to the heavenly voice, Vishnu Ji started doing penance again. He was pleased and Shiv Ji appeared with Shakti and gave his darshan to Vishnu. At that time, Shiv Ji took out a ruby ​​from his pocket and fell on that place, due to which that place became famous in the world as Maniya. Thereafter, when Shiv Ji asked Vishnu to ask for a boon, Vishnu Ji prayed while praising him, Lord you Give me the gift of your devotion and do me a favour so that I attain the best position. Shivaji accepted Vishnu's prayer and said to him, "O Narada, Vishnu, you should do penance again to create the universe." Shivaji was not pleased even after Vishnuji did penance for a long time because he wanted to perform some more leela. While doing penance, so much sweat came out of Vishnu's body that the whole earth was filled with water. Seeing the water, Vishnuji became very worried but due to Shiva's illusion, he could not know the real secret. When the lotus started drowning in the ocean, Shivaji held it on his trident and lifted it up. At that time, Shivaji did this act that a lotus was born from Vishnuji's navel which was as deep and wide as a pond. That lotus was as bright as crores of Suns. Thereafter, Shivaji created me with his right arm and made me sit on the lotus, but due to Shivaji's illusion, I could not know how I was born. While sitting on the lotus, I was thinking about my birth, then suddenly I remembered that from where this lotus was born, That place must have been the origin of my origin. So, I started walking down through the path of the lotus tuber to tell him the address of the root of the lotus, but even after walking continuously for 100 years, I could not find the root of the lotus. O Narada, at that time an akashvani (voice from the sky) was heard that you should do penance, then you will get the knowledge of the real secret. On hearing that akashvani, I got engrossed in praying. Thereafter, Shivji sent me to alert Vishnuji through his divine play. When he came near me and asked me to ask for that boon, I asked him who are you. At that time Vishnuji replied that I am your father and the master of the whole universe. On hearing this, I started arguing with him. At that time Shivji appeared in the form of a flame. That flame was seen spreading from the earth to the sky. Both of us kept wandering for a long time to know the starting and the end of the flame, but when we did not get success, we came and stood on this lotus flower. At that time Shivji, pleased, gave us his darshan and said that Brahmaji and Vishnuji, Brahmaji should create the universe and Vishnuji should take care of it. Saying this, Shiv Ji went into meditation. Oh Narada. After Shiv Ji became invisible, Vishnu Ji also went into meditation. He created Vaikunth Lok and started living in it. He created the entire universe in Tangu province. The 14 worlds of 50 crore weight and expansion that are visible in this universe, whether above or below the earth, have all been created by me. Lord Sada Shiv himself is present everywhere in Nirgun form and I, Vishnu and Har, appear in his Sadgun form and perform worldly tasks. Oh Narada, the form of Shiv Ji has been said to be of two types, first four and the second letter. Lord Sadashiv is present everywhere in Nirgun and Sadhu form. No one knows his glory. It is appropriate for all creatures to keep engaged in knowing the Sadgun form until they know the full condition of the Nirgun form. The one who knows the Bhakti Nirgun form, all his sins are destroyed.
