श्री शिव महापुराण कथा नवा खंड अध्याय 10

इतनी कथा सुनकर नारद जी ने कहा हे पिता मैंने आपसे किया सुना की शिवजी को भस्म अत्यंत प्रिय है इससे बढ़कर श्रेष्ठ हमने कोई भी वस्त्र तथा भूषण नहीं है आप मेरी इच्छा है कि आप मुझे भस्म का माता सुनने की कृपा करें तथा इस संबंध में कोई आख्यान भी कहे यह सुनकर ब्रह्मा जी बोले हे नारद भस्म चारों पदार्थों को देने वाला है जो मनुष्य से अपने शरीर में लगता है उसके संपूर्ण दुख तथा अशोक नष्ट हो जाते हैं भस्म शारीरिक तथा अधिक बल को बढ़ाकर मृत्यु के समय भी अत्यंत आनंद प्राप्त करता है इसके संबंध में मैं तुम्हें एक आख्यान और सुनता हूं हे नारद दशहरा 10 हरण नमक देश में ब्रजबहु नामक एक राजा राज करता था उसके संख्या स्त्रियां थी भाग्य वर्ष जब बड़ी रानी के गर्भ ठहराया तो अन्य स्त्रियों में ईशा के वास्तु भूत हो उसके बीच खिला दिए यह व्यक्ति उसे बहुत कष्ट उठाने पड़े परंतु उपचार होने पर वह ठीक हो गई उसे बीच से भी उसके उधर में पहुंचकर कोई हानि नहीं पहुंची नियत समय पर उसके एक अत्यंत सुंदर पुत्र को जन्म दिया यह देखकर उसकी सौतन की और अधिक हिस्सा होने लगी परंतु 20 के प्रभाव से नवजात शिशु हर समय रोता रहता था तब रानी भी पुत्र के जन्म के उपरांत अत्यंत व्याकुल होने लगी उसे राजा ने बड़े-बड़े श्रेष्ठ व्यक्तियों को बुलाकर आने के उपाय कारण परंतु उसे कोई लाभ नहीं हुआ हे नारद कुछ समय तक इस प्रकार कम चला रहा एक दिन राजा ने अत्यंत दुखी होकर अपने मन में है विचार किया कि यह माता तथा पुत्र दोनों पूर्व जन्म के महा पापी प्रतीत होते हैं इसलिए उन्हें इस प्रकार दुख होना पड़ रहा है किसी शुभ कार्य के कारण ही यह मेरे यहां आने है परंतु आप पाप कर्मों के कारण दुख भोग रहे हैं उन्होंने हफ्ते रोकने पीटने से मेरे आहार बिहार में भी विधान डाल रखा है वस्तु आप मुझे नहीं अपने घर से निकाल देना चाहिए यह विचार कर राजा ने अपने एक सेवक को यह आज्ञा दी कि तुम रानी को उसके पुत्र सहित रात पर चढ़कर वन में छोड़ आओ तब वह राजा की आज्ञा से वहां दोनों को वन में ले जाकर छोड़ आया वहां रानी अपने पुत्र के साथ सुखी प्यासी अत्यंत व्याकुल हो ब्राह्मण करने लगी वन में उसे एक पाखंडी दिखाई दी उसे पर चलती हुई वह एक अन्य नगर में जा पहुंची उसे नगर में पधार कर नामक एक वैश्या राजा राज करता था उसे राजा की दासी ने जब उसे रानी को देखा तो वह अपने हृदय में अत्यंत चिंतित हुआ था दो प्रांत हुआ उसे पर कृपा करके राजा पधार कर के पास ले पहुंचे पाटकर ने जब रानी को दुखी देख और उसके मुख से संपूर्ण वृतांत सुना तो दया करके उसने अपने मुख मंदिर में ठहरा दिया और माता के समान समझ कर उसकी अत्यंत सेवा करने लगा हे नारद पधारकर उसे श्रेष्ठ भोजन से सदैव प्रसन्न रखता था उपचार के हेतु से श्रेष्ठ व्यक्तियों का भी प्रबंध कर दिया परंतु इतना सब होंगे पर भी उसे रानी में बालक को कोई लाभ नहीं पहुंचा था कुछ दिन जीवित रहने के पश्चात वह 20 के प्रभाव से मृत्यु को प्राप्त हो गया उसे समय रानी ने अत्यंत विलाप किया यह दिव्या में स्त्रियों ने उसे बहुत कुछ शानदार ना दिया परंतु वह किसी भी प्रकार धर्य धारण कर सकी अपने पुत्र की याद में वह अत्यंत शक करने लगी इस समय भाग्य व श्री नमक शिव जी का एक भाग दो वहां आ पहुंचा उसने भी रानी बहुत प्रकार से समझाते हुए धीरज बांध तब रानी ने हाथ जोड़कर रसिया कहा हे महानुभाव में पति तथा बंदूक से रहित रहीम को अब आप जो विदेश करें उसके अनुसार भाषण करने में दिए में प्रस्तुत हूं हे नारद यह सुनकर ऋषि ने उसे कविता के लड़के के समीप पहुंच कर जिससे की रानी ने अब तक देखने नहीं दिया था शिवजी के मंत्र का पाठ किया था दो प्रांत उसे मृतक बालक के मुख से भस्म डाल दिया जिससे वह तुरंत ही जीवित हो बैठा इस आचार्य को देखकर सब लोग चकित रह गए उसे समय पद्माकर रानी तथा अन्य राज कॉलोनी व्यक्तियों को जो प्रसन्नता हुई उसका वर्णन नहीं किया जा सकता रानी ने अत्यंत आनंद में भरकर बाला को गोद में उठाया और उसकी योग के चरणों पर अपना मस्तक रख दिया उसे समय ऋषि ने अत्यंत कृपा करके उसे बालक के संपूर्ण शरीर में भस्म लगा दिया था दो प्रांत योगी ने प्रसन्न होकर रानी को आशीर्वाद देते हुए कहा है रानी तुम जरा मृत्यु से रहित होकर पर लेकर जीवित रहोगी और यह बालक भी अपने पिता के राज को प्राप्त कर अपनी रानियां सहित आनंद का उपभोग करेगा जब तक यह बालक विद्या पढ़कर बड़ा ना हो जाए तब तक तुम यहीं रहो हे नारद इतना कह कर ऋषि तो अपने स्थान को चले गए और रानी अपने पुत्र भद्र वायु सहित वहीं रहने लगे पद्माकर ने भद्र आयुष के पढ़ने का उचित प्रबंध कर दिया जिससे कुछ ही समय में हुआ संपूर्ण विधाओं में पारंगत हो गया जब वह बालक 16 वर्ष का हुआ तो उन्हें योगी ने एक दिन गुना जाकर उसे शिवजी के पूजन की विधि बताई तथा सहस्त्र अक्षर मंत्र उपदेश  दिया फिर उसके संपूर्ण शरीर में भस्म लगा दी जिससे भद्र आयुष को 12 सहस्त्र हाथियों का बल प्राप्त हो गया फिर वह उसे एक गद्धक तथा एक शंकर देकर विदा हो गया था तो प्रांत भद्र आयु सपना पिता की राजधानी में जा पहुंचा और वहां के राजा सिंहासन प्रार्थना थी अधिकार कर लिया फिर वह विवाह आदि करने के उपरांत आनंदपूर्वक प्रजा पालन एवं बिहार करने लगा यह आप फरमाकर को अपने भाई के समान समझकर अत्यंत आनंद प्रदान करता रहा भद्र आयुष शिवजी की ऐसा परम भक्त था कि उसकी प्रशंसा तीनों लोक में फैल गए यह नारद भस्म का ऐसा माता और प्रभाव है जो व्यक्ति इस चरित्र का श्रवण आठवा पाठ करता है उसे भी अत्यंत आनंद मिलता है

Hearing this story, Narad ji said, O father, I have heard from you that Shiv ji is very fond of ashes. We do not have any clothes or ornaments better than this. I wish that you please tell me the meaning of ashes and also tell me a story in this regard. Hearing this, Brahma ji said, O Narad, ashes give all the four things. When a man applies them to his body, all his sorrows and sorrows are destroyed. By increasing the physical strength, ashes give immense joy even at the time of death. In this regard, I will tell you one more story, O Narad. In a country named Brajbahu, there were many wives. He had many wives. When the eldest queen conceived, the Vastu ghost of Isha was placed in the other women and they fed her with this person. She had to suffer a lot but after treatment, she got cured. She did not suffer any harm even from the other women. At the appointed time, she gave birth to a very beautiful son. Seeing this, her co-wife started getting more share. But due to the effect of the poison, the newborn baby kept crying all the time. Then the queen also started crying for the son. After the birth of the queen, she became very anxious. The king called many great persons to come to her but it did not help. The work continued like this for some time. One day the king became very sad and thought in his mind that both the mother and son seem to be great sinners of their previous birth, that is why they are suffering like this. They have come to me because of some good deed but you are suffering because of your sinful deeds. They have put restrictions on my food and living by stopping and beating me. You should not throw me out of your house. Thinking this, the king ordered one of his servants to go to the forest at night and leave the queen along with her son. Then by the king's order he took both of them to the forest and left them there. The queen, happy and thirsty with her son, became very anxious and started praying to a Brahmin. In the forest, she saw a hypocrite. Following him, she reached another city. A prostitute named Narada ruled in that city. When the king's maid saw the queen, she became very worried in her heart. There was a division between the two provinces. The king took him to the queen with kindness. When Patkar saw the queen sad and heard the whole story from her, he took pity on her and placed his face in the temple and started serving her like a mother. Narada came and kept her happy with the best food. He also arranged for the best people for her treatment. But even after all this, the boy did not get any benefit. After living for a few days, he died due to the effect of the disease. At that time, the queen mourned a lot. The women in the divine gave her a lot of wonderful things but she could somehow keep patience. She started doubting a lot in the memory of her son. At this time, a part two of Bhagya and Shri Namak Shivji reached there. He also tried to convince the queen in many ways and gathered patience. Then the queen folded her hands and said, Rasiya, O noble one, now whatever you want to do, Rahim, who is devoid of husband and gun, I am ready to give a speech according to that. O Narada, on hearing this, the sage took her near the boy of Kavita, whom the queen had not allowed to see till now. He recited the mantra of Lord Shiva and threw the ashes from the mouth of the dead boy, due to which he immediately came alive. Everyone was surprised to see this Acharya. The happiness that Padmakar Rani and other royal colony people felt cannot be described. The queen filled with immense joy took the boy in her lap and placed her head on the feet of the Yogi. The sage was very kind and applied ashes on the entire body of the boy. The Yogi was pleased and blessed the queen and said, "Queen, you will live without death and with wings. This boy will also get his father's kingdom and enjoy happiness with his queens. You stay here till this boy grows up after studying. O Narada." Saying this, the sage went to his place and the queen started living there with her son Bhadra Vayu. Padmakar made proper arrangements for Bhadra Aayush's studies, due to which in a short time he became proficient in all the subjects. When the boy turned 16, the Yogi went to Guna one day and made him worship Lord Shiva. He told him the method and preached the thousand letter mantra, then applied ashes on his entire body due to which Bhadra Ayush got the strength of 12 thousand elephants, then he gave him a gadhak and a shankar and left. Then the king Bhadra Ayush reached his father's capital and took over the throne of that place. Then after getting married etc. he started ruling the subjects and living happily. He kept giving immense happiness to the king by considering him as his brother. Bhadra Ayush was such a great devotee of Shiva that his praise spread in the three worlds. This Narada ash has such a power and effect, the person who listens to the eighth reading of this character also gets immense happiness.
