इतनी कथा सुनकर नारद जी ने कहा हे पिता अपने भस्म धारण करने की विधि तो बतलाई आप कृपा करके कोई ऐसा इतिहास बताएं जिससे भाषण के प्रभाव से किसी पापी के मुक्त होने का वृतांत हो ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा है पुत्र रामदेव नामक एक शिव भक्त काम क्रोध में लोग आदि से रहे थे वह सबको सब दृष्टि से देखते हैं किसी की कोई वस्तु नहीं होती तथा सदेव मूल धारण कर शिवजी का स्मरण करते हुए संसार में भ्रमण किया करते थे वह बहुत धारण करते तथा प्रत्येक अवस्था में प्रसन्न रहते थे उसकी परमहंस गति को देखकर सब लोग उन्हें श्रद्धा पूर्वक प्रणाम करते थे हे नारद एक दिन हुए कोचाचरण नामक वन में जा पहुंचे उसे वन में केवल भूत प्रेत रहते थे वही एक अत्यंत भयानक ब्रह्मराक्षस भी रहता था कोई भी मनुष्य धाम के कारण वही नहीं जाता था वह ब्रह्मराक्षस अपने पापों के कारण बहुत दिनों का भोग प्यास था और तू अब उसने रामदेव को वहां आते हुए देखा तो उन्होंने खाने के लिए दौड़ पड़ा परंतु मुनि को कोई उपाय नहीं हुआ वह चुपचाप अपने स्थान पर खड़े रहे क्या देख ब्रह्मराक्षस अपने शरीर से लिपट गया और यह अभिलाषा करने लगा कि मैं उन्हें अपने दोनों भुजाओं से उठाकर एक ही ग्रास में खा जाऊंग परंतु जिस प्रकार चिंतामणि का स्पर्श करने से लोहा सोना बन जाता है उसी प्रकार शिव भक्त बामदेव के शरीर का स्पर्श करते ही उसे राक्षस को संपूर्ण पाप नष्ट हो गए और वह शुद्ध हो गया शिवजी की महिमा को देख हुए रक्षा बामदेव को भाषण करने के लिए आया था वह आनंदित हो अपने सामने हाथ जोड़कर खड़ा हो गया वह आमदेव के शरीर में जो भस्म लगी हुई थी वह उसे ब्रह्मराक्षस के भी लगी इसलिए ऐसा परिवर्तन हुआ हे नारद तब वह ब्रह्मराक्षस बामदेव के चरणों पर गिरकर हाथ जोड़कर प्रणाम करता हुआ बोला है प्रभु आपका स्पर्श करने से मुझे अत्यंत सुख प्राप्त हुआ है अब आप कृपा करके मेरा उधर कीजिए है स्वामी यदि आप मुझ पर अनुग्रह करें तो मैं इस गम शरीर से भी मुक्ति प्राप्त करूंगा यह सुनकर रामदेव बोला है रक्षा तुम किस प्रकार के कारण ब्रह्मराक्षस हुए वह वृतांत मुझे चुनाव इस भयानक शरीर को पकड़ भूख प्यास से तुम अत्यंत व्याकुल रहते हो यह मैं देख रहा हूं हे नारद बामदेव की यह वचन सुनकर वह ब्रह्मराक्षस दंडवत करता हुआ बोला है प्रभु में जन्म में पूर्व 25 में जन्म में यह वन देश का राजा था उसे समय मेरा नाम दुर्जन था मैं अत्यंत पापी अहंकारी क्रोधी बुद्धि हीनता मैं वेद शास्त्रों का निरादर करते हुए गर्भवती स्त्रियों के साथ भोग किया इसकी अतिरिक्त जो स्त्रियां भोग करने योग्य थी उन्हें मैंने अपने बंदीगिरी में डाले रखा हे स्वामी माय पर स्त्रियों से भोग विलास में मांग ना रहा परंतु अपनी स्त्री के साथ कभी मिथुन नहीं किया एक बार मेरे शत्रुओं ने मुझे दुर्बल जानकर चढ़ाई कर दी और मुझे राज्य से छूट कर दिया बुद्धिमान मंत्री भी गिरना पूर्वक मेरा साथ छोड़ कर चले गए इस शोक में मेरी मृत्यु हो गई जब यमराज के घर मुझे पड़कर यमपुरी ले गए तब यह यज्ञ से उन्होंने मुझे रुधिर के कुएं में डाल दिया तदुपरांत मुझे पिशाचार का जन्म प्राप्त हुआ एक महा भयानक वन में जहां कोई भी प्राणी ना था यमराज ने मुझे जन्म दिया वहां मैं 100 वर्ष तक भूख प्यास से व्याकुल रहा कर मृत्यु को प्राप्त हुआ फिर मुझे तीसरे जन्म में सिंह चौथ में अधिकतर 5 मिनट में बिच्छू छत में सूअर सातवें में वर्ग आठवी में चौहान नाव में फेरू दसवीं में फेल 11वें में हिरण भर में बंदर 13 में 22 14 में नेवला 15 में कौवा और लंबे में आचार 17 में गधा 18 में बिल्ली 19 में बकरी विश्व में मछली की इसमें में चूल्हा 22 में मेंढक 23 में घूम और 24वें जन्म में हाथी का शरीर प्राप्त हुआ हे ब्राह्मण यह जो आप मेरा ब्रह्मराक्षस का शरीर देख रहे हैं तो मेरा 25 में जन्म है इस शरीर को पाकर मैं अत्यंत दुखी हूं मुझे खाने के लिए कुछ नहीं मिलता और मैं अपने पापों का स्मरण करता हुआ दिन रात सोता रहता हूं ना जान मैंने ऐसा कौन सा जप्त प्रयोग अथवा प्राप्त किया था जिससे मैं इस शुभ गति को प्राप्त हुआ और अपने यहां आकर मुझे सर के पापी के दर्शन दिए हे नाथ मैं समझता हूं कि अब मैं अरे अच्छे दिन आ गए हैं आज तो आप मेरे ऊपर विशेष अनुराग का मेरा दुख दूर कर दे इतना कह कर वापस ब्रह्म राक्षस साथ जोड़कर खड़ा हो गया

After listening to this story, Narad ji said, O father, you have told me the method of wearing ashes. Please tell me such a story which tells the story of a sinner getting freed from the effect of speech. Brahma ji said, son, there was a Shiv devotee named Ramdev who was suffering from lust and anger since the beginning. He looked at everyone with all eyes. He did not belong to anyone and always used to roam around the world wearing Dev Mool and remembering Shiv ji. He used to wear a lot and remained happy in every situation. Seeing his Paramhansa status, everyone used to bow down to him with respect. O Narad, one day he reached a forest named Kochacharan. Only ghosts and spirits lived in that forest. There also lived a very dreadful Brahmarakshas. No human being used to go there because of the Dham. That Brahmarakshas was thirsty for many days due to his sins. Now when he saw Ramdev coming there, he ran to eat but the sage could not do anything. He quietly stood at his place. Seeing this, Brahmarakshas clung to his body and started wishing that I will eat him. I will lift him with both my arms and eat him in one bite. But just as iron turns into gold on touching Chintamani, similarly, on touching the body of Shiva devotee Baamdev, all the sins of that demon were destroyed and he became pure. Seeing the glory of Shiva, Raksha, who had come to deliver a speech to Baamdev, became happy and stood in front of him with folded hands. The ashes that were on Baamdev's body also touched Brahmarakshas's body, that is why such a transformation took place. O Narada. Then that Brahmarakshas fell on Bamdev's feet and bowing down with folded hands said, Lord, I have got immense pleasure by your touch. Now please help me. Swami, if you shower your favour on me, then I will get freedom from this body of sorrows also. Hearing this, Ramdev said, Raksha, tell me the reason why you became a Brahmarakshas. I can see that holding this dreadful body, you remain extremely restless with hunger and thirst. O Narada. Hearing these words of Baamdev, that Brahmarakshas bowing down said, Lord, in my previous birth, In my 25th birth, I was the king of a forest country. At that time my name was Durjan. I was a great sinner, arrogant, short-tempered and lacking in wisdom. I disrespected the Vedas and scriptures and had sexual relations with pregnant women. Besides this, I kept those women who were fit for sexual pleasure in my captivity. O lord, I never asked for sexual pleasures from women, but I never had sexual intercourse with my own wife. Once my enemies, knowing me to be weak, attacked me and released me from the kingdom. Even the wise ministers left me helplessly and went away. I died in this grief. When Yamraj took me to Yampuri, then after this yagya, he threw me in a well of blood. Thereafter I was born as a vampire in a very dreadful forest where there was no living being. Yamraj gave me birth there and I remained restless for 100 years due to hunger and thirst and then I died in my third birth. In the fourth birth, I was a lion, in the fourth birth, in the fourth birth, in the scorpion in the roof in the maximum 5 minutes, in the pig in the seventh birth, in the eighth birth, in the Chauhan boat, in the tenth birth. I failed in 11th birth, deer in 13th birth, monkey in 22nd birth, mongoose in 14th birth, crow in 15th birth, pickle in 17th birth, donkey in 18th birth, goat in 19th birth, fish in 20th birth, stove in 22nd birth, frog in 23rd birth, and in the 24th birth, I got the body of an elephant. Oh Brahmin, this body of Brahmarakshas that you are seeing of mine is my 25th birth. I am very unhappy after getting this body. I don't get anything to eat and I keep sleeping day and night remembering my sins. I don't know which special practice or attainment I had done due to which I got this auspicious state and after coming to your place, you gave me the darshan of the sinner of the head. Oh Lord, I think that now good days have come. Today, please remove my sorrow by showing special affection towards me. Saying this, Brahmarakshas again stood up with his hands folded.
