श्री शिव महापुराण कथा नवा खंड अध्याय नौ

इतनी कथा सुनकर नारद जी बोले हे पिता आपने मुझे अत्यंत श्रेष्ठ आज्ञा सुना अब मैं आपसे एक अन्य बात पूछता हूं जो मनुष्य वेद के जाने वाले तथा परम ज्ञानी है उन्हें को गुरु बनाने से और उन्हें से उपदेश लेने पर भगवान सदा शिव प्रसन्न होते हैं तथा संपूर्ण कार्य की सिद्ध होती है अथवा अन्य लोगों से उपदेश लेकर भी सीट प्राप्त की जा सकती है इतनी कथा सुना कर श्री सूद जी ने कहा है शंकर नदी ऋषियों नारद जी की इस प्रश्न को सुनकर ब्रह्मा जी ने उसके अत्यंत प्रशंसा दादू प्रांत उत्तर दिया है पुत्र श्रद्धा ही संपूर्ण मनोरथ को पूरा करने वाले तथा संपूर्ण पाठकों को नष्ट करने वाले श्रद्धा होने पर नीची लोगों पर भी देवता कृपा करते हैं बिना श्रद्धा के सभी कार्य निष्फल हो जाते हैं जब तक यज्ञ हवन मंत्र तंत्र पूजा स्मरण ध्यान आदि सभी कार्य श्रद्धा के बिना व्यर्थ है भगवान सदा शिव ने स्वयं अपने प्रमुख से कहा है कि सुख-दुख और पाप पुण्य की प्रति भावना के ही कारण होती है बिना श्रद्धा के भी किए हुए सभी करमुश्फल हो जाते हैं इस विषय में एक आसान समय तुम्हें सुनाता हूं हे नारद प्राचीन समय में सिंह केतु नामक एक राजा पांचाल देश में राज करता था वह संपूर्ण विधाओं से युक्त शिवजी के परम भक्त था एक दिन वह श्रेष्ठ सैनिकों को साथ लेकर शिकार खेलने के लिए वन में गया उसके साथ ही एक सबर जाति का शंकर नमक मनुष्य भी था वन में जाकर उसने एक शिवालय देखा जिसमें एक टूटी फूटी शीला आधार से बाहर पड़ी हुई थी शंकर ने उसे शिवलिंग को अत्यंत प्रेम पूर्वक अपने हाथों से उठा लिया तथा राजा के समीप पहुंचकर उसे दिखाते हुए इस प्रकार बोला है प्रभु भाई इस शिवलिंग का पूजन करता हूं आज तो आप मुझे पूजन की विधि बताने की कृपा करें हे नाथ यद्यपि मैं निजी जाति का हूं परंतु मैं या सुना है कि नीचों को ही भगवान सदा शिव के पूजा एवं ज्ञान का अधिकार प्राप्त है इसलिए आप मेरी कामना को भी पूर्ण करने की कृपा करें हे नारद यह सुनकर राजा ने उत्तर दिया के निषाद मैं तुम्हें शिवपूजन कि वह सरल रीति बताता हूं इसमें शिवजी शीघ्र ही प्रसन्न होते शिवलिंग का पूजन करने वाले मनुष्य को सर्वप्रथम स्नान करके पवित्र वस्त्र धारण करने चाहिए तदुपरांत पवित्र स्थान पर बैठकर भस्म धारण करके शिवजी को स्नान करना चाहिए फिर चंदन आहट पुष्प बेलपत्र धूप दिया डेविड आदि से शिवजी का पूजन करने के उपरांत उसके सम्मुख नृत्य कहां स्थित प्रणाम करके गाल बजाना चाहिए तथा विधिपूर्वक प्राधीक्षण करनी चाहिए शिवजी को चिंता की भस्म अत्यंत प्रिय है अतः उसे शरीर में धारण करने से अत्यंत आनंद प्राप्त होता है शिवजी की पूजन की यह अत्यंत सरल तथा सम रहती है तो तुम भी इस प्रकार आचरण करो इतनी कथा सुना कर ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा है नारा दे दे पीर राजा ने यह विधि हंसी में सुनाई थी परंतु सबर ने उसे अत्यंत श्रद्धा पूर्वक सुना तड़पा सातवां अपने घर लौट आया और उसे शिवलिंग का पूजन करने लगा उसे जो वस्तु अच्छी लगी उसका भोग सबसे पहले शिवजी को लगता पूजन दादू प्रांत स्वयं खाता वह अपनी स्त्री सहित शिवजी का पूजन करता और मूर्ति के सम्मुख नृत्य ज्ञान करता इस प्रकार जब उसे उसे समय व्यतीत हो गया तो शिवजी ने प्रसन्न होकर उसकी परीक्षा लेने का निश्चय किया एक दिन जब वह पूजन करने के लिए बैठा था तो चिंता भस्म जो उसके समय भी रखी थी अचानक अदृश्य हो गई जब ढूंढने पर भी उसे वह भस्म कहीं दिखाई ना दी तो उसे अत्यंत आचार्य में भरकर अपनी स्त्री से कहा यह प्रिया मैं भस्म को बहुत ढूंढा परंतु वह कहीं भी नहीं मिल रही है इस प्रकार पूजन में विज्ञान उपस्थित होने में से अत्यंत दुखी हूं और यह अनुभव करता हूं कि आप मेरा जीना भी व्यर्थ है हे नारद अपने पति की ऐसी दशा देखकर उसे स्त्री ने उत्तर दिया है स्वामी आप अपने मन में इस प्रकार चिंतित ना हो मैं इस समय चिंता जलाकर अपने शरीर को भस्म किया किया देता हूं तथा आप उसे ब्रह्म से अपना पूजन किए हैं यह सुनकर सबर बोला है प्रिया तुम्हारा शरीर मेरे बिहार के लिए तथा चारों पदों को प्राप्त करने के निर्माता है या सुनकर स्त्री बोली है स्वामी मैं शत्रु से यह सुना है कि यदि कोई मनुष्य पढ़ाई उपकार के लिए अपना शरीर त्याग कर तो उसका जन्म सफल हो जाता है वस्तु शिव जी के कार्य भी यदि मेरे शरीर का नाश हो तो इसे अधिक उत्तम और क्या होगा तो आप मुझे ऐसा शुभ कर्म करने से ना रोके और अपने पूजन को विधिपूर्वक पूर्ण करें हे नारद सवारने अपनी स्त्री की इस बात को स्वीकार कर लिया तब वह पवित्र हो शिवजी का ध्यान धरती हुई चिंता में बैठ गई और कुछ ही देर में जलकर भस्म हो गई साधु प्राण सवार ने इस भस्म को अपने शरीर में मालकर शिवजी का पूजन किया जब पूजन करते समय अपने प्रतिदिन नियम अनुसार अपने हाथ में प्रसाद लेकर पीठ की ओर चढ़ना तो एक अत्यंत आश्चर्य जनक घटना घटी वह घटना यह थी की सबर प्रतिदिन पूजन करके अपने स्त्री को प्रसाद दिया करता था और तू नित्य के निर्माण अनुसार उसे दिन भी उसने अपने प्रसाद को हाथ में पीछे की ओर बढ़ाया क्योंकि उसे यह ध्यान नहीं रहा था कि उसकी पत्नी जलकर भस्म हो गई है परंतु जिस समय उसका हाथ पीछे की ओर गया इस समय उसने देखा कि उसकी स्त्री जो जलकर भस्म हो गई थी फिर से जीवित हो पहले के समान ही वस्त्र आदि से सुसज्जित होकर अपने मुख से शिव का नाम उच्चारण करती हुई उसके सामने चली आ रही है जब वह है स्त्री हाथ जोड़कर उसके समूह का बैठी तब सबर ने आश्चर्य चकित होकर उससे पूछा अरे तू तो भस्म हो गई थी तब जीवित किस प्रकार हो गई यह सुनकर पत्नी ने उत्तर दिया है पति मैं जिस समय अग्नि में प्रवेश किया तो मुझे कोई दुख नहीं हुआ ऐसे लगा कि मानो मैं अमित के खून में बैठ गई हूं दादू प्रात जब मैं उसमें भस्म हो गई तो किसी ने मुझे फिर जीवित कर दिया इतनी कथा सुनकर ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद जी समय हुए दोनों या वार्तालाप कर रहे थे उसी समय शिव जी ने अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर कर गानों सहित अपना विमान उसके पास भेज दिया शिवजी के घरों में वह जाकर सबर तथा शबरी को अत्यंत ने पूर्वक उसे स्थान में बैठा दिया ताड़ूपरान हुए उन दोनों को शिव लोगों में ले गए जहां हुए शिव स्वरूप को प्राप्त हो आनंदपूर्वक निवास करने लगे हे नारद भस्म की ऐसी की महिमा है जो मनुष्य पवित्रता पूर्वक भस्म को धारण करता है तथा शिव जी के गानों का वर्णन करता है उसे दोनों लोक में आनंद मिलता है

After listening to this story, Narad ji said, O father, you have given me a very great command. Now I want to ask you one more thing. By making a person who knows Vedas and has the utmost knowledge, Guru and taking teachings from him, Lord Sada Shiv is pleased and all the work is accomplished. Or by taking teachings from other people, one can also get a seat. After narrating this much story, Shri Sood ji said, after listening to this question of Narad ji, Brahma ji praised him a lot and gave an answer like Dadu. Son, faith is the only thing that fulfills all the desires and destroys all the worries. When there is faith, even the gods bless the lowly people. Without faith, all works become futile. As long as yagya, havan, mantra, tantra, worship, remembrance, meditation etc. are useless without faith, Lord Sada Shiv himself has told his chief that happiness, sorrow and sin are only due to the feeling of respect for virtue. All the deeds done without faith also become fruitless. O Narad, in ancient times, a king named Singh Ketu ruled in Panchal country. He was completely He was a great devotee of Lord Shiva, endowed with knowledge. One day, he went to the forest for hunting along with his best soldiers. Along with him was a man named Shankar of Sabar caste. After going to the forest, he saw a Shiva temple in which a broken stone was lying outside the base. Shankar picked up the Shiva lingam with his hands very lovingly and reaching near the king, showing it to him said, "Prabhu brother, I worship this Shiva lingam today. Please be kind enough to tell me the method of worship. O Nath, although I belong to a noble caste, but I have heard that only the lowly have the right to worship and gain knowledge of Lord Shiva. Therefore, please be kind enough to fulfil my wish also. O Narada." On hearing this, the king replied, "Nishad, I will tell you the simple method of worshipping Shiva. In this, Lord Shiva gets pleased soon. The person worshipping the Shiva lingam should first take a bath and wear holy clothes. Thereafter, sitting at a holy place, wearing ashes, should bathe Lord Shiva. Then, after worshipping Lord Shiva with sandalwood, flowers, Bel leaves, incense sticks, etc., one should stand in front of him and bow down. Shivji is very fond of the ashes of Chinta and hence, wearing it in the body gives immense pleasure. This method of worshipping Shivji is very simple and easy, so you should also act in this manner. After narrating this much story, Brahma ji said, give the slogan. The king had narrated this method jokingly, but Sabar listened to it with utmost devotion. The seventh tormented returned to his home and started worshipping the Shivling. Whatever thing he liked, it was first offered to Shivji. He used to eat the food himself. He used to worship Shivji along with his wife and used to dance in front of the idol. In this way, when his time passed, Shivji got pleased and decided to test him. One day, when he was sitting to worship, the Chinta Bhasma which was kept there suddenly disappeared. When he could not find the ashes even after searching, he filled it in a very sacred thread and said to his wife, “My love, I have searched for the ashes a lot but I am not able to find it anywhere. In this way, I am very sad due to the absence of poison in the worship and I feel that you are my Life is also useless, O Narada. Seeing such a condition of her husband, the wife replied, "Swami, do not worry in your mind like this. I am burning my worries and burning my body to ashes and you have worshipped it with Brahma." Hearing this, Sabar said, "My love, your body is for my life and for achieving all the four positions." Hearing this, the woman said, "Swami, I have heard from the enemy that if a man sacrifices his body for studies and charity, then his life becomes successful. What can be better than the destruction of my body for the work of Lord Shiva, then you should not stop me from doing such a good deed and complete your worship according to the rules." O Narada Sabar accepted this thing of his wife, then she became pure, sat in worry, meditated on Lord Shiva and in a short while she was burnt to ashes. Sadhu Pran Sawar put this ash in his body and worshipped Lord Shiva. When, while worshipping, he used to take prasad in his hand as per his daily routine and climb towards the back, then a very surprising event occurred. That event was that Sabar, after worshipping his wife daily, He used to give Prasad to her and as per his daily routine, that day also he extended his Prasad in his hand backwards because he was not aware that his wife had been burnt to ashes, but when his hand went backwards, he saw that his wife who had been burnt to ashes was alive again, dressed in the same clothes as before, and was coming towards him uttering the name of Shiva with her mouth. When that woman sat in his group with folded hands, then Sabar was astonished and asked her, "Hey you had been burnt to ashes, then how did you become alive?" Hearing this the wife replied, "Husband, when I entered the fire, I did not feel any pain, it felt as if I have sat in the blood of Amit. Dadu, in the morning when I was burnt to ashes, someone brought me back to life. Hearing this much story, Brahma ji said, "Oh Narad ji, both of them were talking, at that time Shiva ji, being very pleased, sent his plane to her along with songs. She went to Shiva's house andAnd he made Sabar and Shabari sit in that place with great love. After worshipping them, he took them to the abode of Shiva, where they attained the form of Shiva and started living happily. O Narada, such is the glory of ashes that the person who wears ashes with purity and recites the songs of Lord Shiva, gets bliss in both the worlds.
