ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद मैंने तुम्हें अप लोगों सहित भूलोक का वृत्तांत सुनाया अब तुम स्वर्ग लोक के विषय में सुनो स्वर्ग लोक के ऊपर स्थित है इसमें भी कई प्रयोग है स्वर्ग लोक का विस्तार सूर्य मंडल से लेकर ध्रुव मंडल तक है अब तुम सूर्यनारायण के संबंध में कुछ वृतांत सुनो हे नारद सूर्य की गति तीन प्रकार की है उसे शीघ्र मध्य तथा समझना चाहिए उसके नाम यह है उत्तरायण दक्षिणायन विधु पद सूर्य की इन गतियां द्वारा छह ऋतु तथा 12 महीने प्रगट होते हैं तीनों लोक को प्रकाशित करने वाले सूर्य का रथ केवल एक पहले का है उनका एक फिर सुमेरु पर्वत के ऊपर आता है दूसरा मान सरोवर पर्वत के ऊपर उसका रथ तेल करने के फूलों के समान चारों ओर घूमता है सूर्य के घोड़े को अक्षांश तथा सारथी अरुण कहते हैं उनके रात के आगे आगे अंगूठे के बराबर आकार वाले 60 सहस्त्र बाल खेल ऋषि उसे स्वर से वेद मित्रों का पाठ तथा सूर्य के पास का पूर्ण करने चलते हैं उसके अतिरिक्त सख्त ऋषि तथा नमक आदि भी सूर्य की सेवा में प्रस्तुत रहते हैं सप्त ऋषि प्रत्येक मास में बदल जाते हैं अर्थात एक मास में जो सप्त ऋषि उसके साथ रहते हैं दूसरे मास में उसके साथ पर दूसरे सप्त ऋषि आ जाते हैं और पहले वाले है जाते हैं सूर्य के रात का विस्तार नव सहस्त्र जोजन है वह एक लाख योजन ऊंचा है इस प्रकार सूर्य संपूर्ण सृष्टि को प्रकाश तथा आनंद प्रदान करते हैं हे नारद सूर्य ने ऐसा कुछ पद भगवान सदा शिव का तप करने के प्राप्त किया है तथा संक्षेप में इस प्रकार है मेरे पुत्र मार्जित के द्वारा कश्यप का जन्म हुआ जब कश्यप ने गृहस्थ आश्रम को स्वीकार किया था तब दक्ष प्रजापति ने अपनी 13 का नियमों का विवाह उसके साथ कर दिया उसे 13 कन्या में से जिसका नया का नाम अदिति था उसे 12 पुत्रों को जन्म दिया उसे 12 पुत्रों में से एक सूर्य इस प्रकार सूर्य का जन्म कश्यप द्वारा आदिति के गर्भ से हुआ है हे नारद सूर्य ने शिव जी का तप किया तदुपरांत शिवजी ने उन्हें दर्शन दिए सूर्य ने भगवान शंकर ने मनोहारी स्वरूप को देखकर दंडवत प्रणाम किया फिर प्रार्थना करते हुए यह कहा हे प्रभु आप घाट घाट व्यापी अंतर्यामी प्रेम महिमा संपन्न पुरातन पुरुष दुखारी भक्त वात्सल्य तथा अपने अंत से ही है मेरे ध्यान भगवान है जो अपने शरीर धारण कर मुझे दर्शन प्राप्त करने की कृपा की है हे नाथ आपने मुझे दर्शन दिए इससे अधिक सौभाग्य की बात और क्या हो सकती है मेरी यह कामना है कि मैं हर समय आपकी सेवा किया करुंगी हे नारद इतना कह कर जब सूर्य चुप हो गए तब शिवजी ने अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर उन्हें बिना मांगे ही वार देते हुए यह कहा है सूर्य तुम परम तेजस्वी तथा प्रकाशवाण होकर सब्जियों के कर्मों के साक्षी रहेंगे तथा अपने भक्तों को सब प्रकार के आनंद प्रदान करते रहेंगे तुम्हारी सेवा करने वाले के रोग दूर हो जाएंगे इस प्रकार सूर्य को वरदान देने के उपरांत भगवान सदाशिव अंतर्ध्यान हो गए तब सूर्य प्रसंग होकर अपने लोक में लौट आए तभी से हुए शिव जी का ध्यान धरते हुए संपूर्ण सृष्टि को प्रकाशित किया करते हैं जो लोग सूर्य का व्रत तथा सूर्य के निर्माता तपयाग आदि करते हैं वह सूर्य लोक में जाकर अत्यंत आनंद प्राप्त करते हैं

Brahma Ji said, O Narada, I have told you the story of the earth along with you people. Now listen to the story of heaven. It is situated above heaven. There are many experiments in it too. Heaven extends from the solar system to the polar system. Now listen to some story about Suryanarayan. O Narada, the sun has three types of movements. They should be understood as fast, middle and right. Their names are Uttarayan, Dakshinayan, Vidhupad. Six seasons and twelve months emerge from these movements of the sun. The chariot of the sun, who illuminates the three worlds, has only one chariot. One of them comes above the Sumeru mountain and the other one above the Maan Sarovar mountain. His chariot revolves around like flowers in oil. The horse of the sun is called Akshat and the charioteer is called Arun. In front of him, 60 thousand haired sages of the size of a thumb walk and recite the Vedas and complete the rituals near the sun. Apart from them, the strong sages and salt etc. also remain present in the service of the sun. The Sapta Rishis change every month, i.e. one The Saptarshis who stay with him in one month, other Saptarshis come with him in the next month and the first ones go away. The expanse of Sun's night is Nav Sahastra Yojna; it is one lakh Yojna high. Thus, Sun provides light and bliss to the entire universe. O Narada, Sun has attained such a position by performing penance for Lord Sada Shiva and in brief it is as follows. Kashyap was born from my son Marjit. When Kashyap had accepted the Grihastha Ashram, then Daksh Prajapati married him as per his 13 rules. Out of his 13 daughters, the new one was named Aditi. She gave birth to 12 sons. Out of his 12 sons, one was Surya. Thus, Surya was born to Kashyap from the womb of Aditi. O Narada, Surya performed penance for Shiva and thereafter Shiva appeared before him. Surya bowed down on seeing the enchanting form of Lord Shankar and then while praying he said, O Lord you are omnipresent, omnipresent, loving, glorious, ancient man, suffering devotee. My focus is on the Lord who has taken a body and has blessed me to have darshan. O Lord, you have given me darshan. What can be more fortunate than this. My wish is that I will serve you all the time. O Narada. After saying this, when Surya became silent, Shivji became very pleased and gave him a boon without asking for it. He said, Surya, you will be the witness of the deeds of the people by being extremely radiant and full of light and will keep giving all kinds of happiness to your devotees. The diseases of those who serve you will be cured. In this way, after giving the boon to Surya, Lord Sadashiv disappeared. Then Surya returned to his world after the Sun's presence. Since then, while meditating on Shivji, he illuminates the entire universe. Those who observe the fast of Surya and do tapayagya, the creator of the Sun, get immense happiness by going to Surya Lok.
