श्री शिव महापुराण कथा 11वां खंड अध्याय 5

ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे पुत्र अब तुम तलाताल लोक का वृतांत सुनो यह सूत लोक के नीचे बसा हुआ है तथा उसका विस्तार भी सूत लोक जितना ही है इस लोक का राजा मैदान है वह अत्यंत मायावी मैदाने ने ही त्रिपुर को इस प्रकार बनाया था कि वह किसी देवता को दिखाई भी नहीं देता था शिवजी की कृपा प्राप्त करके उसे व्यक्तियों में इतनी प्रतिष्ठा मिली है इतने प्रतिष्ठा देवताओं में विश्वकर्मा को प्राप्त है तलाताल लोक के उद्यान फल फूलों से युक्त है उसे लोक को भी स्वर्ग के समान ही समझना चाहिए हे नारद माय दाना वहां रहकर अपनी संपूर्ण प्रजा सहित शिव जी स्मरण एवं पूजन किया करता है इतनी कथा सुना कर ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद आप तुम पांचवें महातललोक का वृतांत सुनो उसे लोक में क्रोध का पुत्र तक्षक राज करता है तक्षक के फंड में जितने रन जड़े हुए हैं कि वह कभी भी अंधेरा नहीं होता रक्षक सुमेर का हक आदि मा बी धार शार्प जिनके मस्तक में मनी लगे हुए हैं वह निवास करते हैं उसके बिहार के हेतु सब प्रकार की सुख सामग्री वहां उपस्थित है वह सब भगवान सदाशिव के परम भक्त हैं हे नारद तक्षक प्रतिदिन शिवजी के स्मरण पूजन एवं ध्यान में सलंगड़ा रहकर इस प्रकार स्तुति किया करता है हे भगवान सदाशिव आप भक्तों का पालन करने वाले हैं आपकी महिमा को ब्रह्मा विष्णु शेष शारदा महाराज व्यास आदि देवता तथा ऋषि मुनि भी नहीं जान पाए हे नारद अब तुम हर्स्ट लाल लोक का वृतांत सुनो यह लोग महाकाल के नीचे बसा हुआ है तथा उसका विस्तार भी अन्य लोगों के समान है उसे लोक में कालकाई तथा कवच नामक दानव एवं दैत्य निवास किया करते हैं वह सब अत्यंत प्रतापी तथा बलवान है एक बार देवताओं ने उन्हें परम तेजस्वी जानकर उसके राजा पहाड़ के समीप सुरक्षा को भेजा था सुरसा ने वहां पहुंचकर यह कहा था कि विष्णु जी सब दैत्यों को मार कर तीनों लोक को अपने अधीन करना चाहते हैं अस्तु तुम लोग उन्हें श्रवण पाने के हेतु भगवान सदाशिव का पूजन करो सुरमा की बात सुनकर वहां के सभी निवासी अत्यंत भयभीत हुए तभी हुए दिन-रात भगवान सदाशिव का स्मरण पूजा एवं ध्यान करने लगे शिव जी के कृपा पात्र हो जाने के कारण अब हुए सब पूर्णतः निर्भय है हे नारद अब तुम पाताल लोक का वृतांत सुनो यह लोग रास्थल लोक के नीचे है तथा विस्तार में भी उसी के समान है रसातल लोक में वासुकी शंकर को लिखित राष्ट्र धनंजय कमल सतरन देवोतान तथा करकट आदि नाग निवास करते हैं उसके फलों में पास से लेकर शास्त्रों की संख्या में मनी लगी हुई है हुए मडिया ऐसे प्रकाशमान है कि उसे दिन और रात का भेद नहीं जाना जाता है इस उसे लोक में जरा मृत्यु निर्बलता दो शोक आदि का कोई भी भाई नहीं है शिवजी के कृपा पर पत्र होने के कारण उन्हें किसी प्रकार का भाई शोक अथवा दुख नहीं है हे नारद पाताल लोक के राजा वासुकी नमक नाग है वह भगवान सदा शिव की हर समय इस प्रकार स्तुति किया करते हैं है आदि अनंत हैं भगवान सदाशिव आप तीनों लोक को उत्पन्न करने वाले हैं पालन करने तथा संघार करने वाले हैं आप ही सबके स्वामी परम ब्रह्म आप सर्वे सर्वत्र स्वतंत्र होते हुए भी भक्तों के अधीन रहते हैं यही आपकी विशेषता है हे नारद जिन सात लोगों का यह वृत्तांत मैं तुम्हें कहा है उसे सप्ताह अंबर का कर पुकारा जाता है

Brahma Ji said, O son, now listen to the story of Talatal Lok. It is situated below Sut Lok and its expanse is also as much as Sut Lok. The king of this Lok is Maidan. He is extremely illusionary. Maidan had made Tripura in such a way that it was not visible to any deity. By getting the blessings of Lord Shiva, he has got so much respect among the people. Vishwakarma has got so much respect among the deities. The gardens of Talatal Lok are full of fruits and flowers. That Lok should also be considered like heaven. O Narada, Maya Dana stays there and remembers and worships Lord Shiva along with his entire subjects. After telling this much story, Brahma Ji said, O Narada, you listen to the story of the fifth Mahatalok. Takshak, the son of anger, rules in that Lok. Takshak has so many runes embedded in his turban that it never becomes dark. The protector Sumer's Hak etc. Ma Bi Dhar Sharp, those who have Mani embedded in their foreheads, reside there. All kinds of comforts are present there for his stay. All of them are the ultimate devotees of Lord Sadashiv. O Narada, Takshak worships Lord Shiva daily. While remembering, worshipping and meditating, he used to praise in this way: O Lord Sadashiv, you are the protector of your devotees. Even Brahma, Vishnu, Shesh, Sharda, Maharaj, Vyas and other gods and sages could not know your glory. O Narada, now you listen to the story of Hurst Lal Lok. This place is settled below Mahakal and its expansion is also similar to that of other places. Demons and devils named Kalkai and Kavach reside in that world. They are all very majestic and strong. Once the gods, knowing them to be very illustrious, sent them for security near the king mountain. Surasa, after reaching there, said that Vishnu ji wants to kill all the demons and bring the three worlds under his control. Therefore, you people worship Lord Sadashiv to get him to listen to you. Hearing Surama's words, all the residents there became very scared. Then they started remembering, worshipping and meditating Lord Sadashiv day and night. Due to being the recipient of Shiva's grace, now everyone is completely fearless. O Narada, now you listen to the story of Patal Lok. This people live below Rasthal Lok. It is similar to it in size and is also similar to it in Rasatal Lok. Vasuki Shankar's written Rashtra Dhananjay Kamal Satran Devotan and Karkat etc. snakes reside in Rasatal Lok. There is money in its fruits from the feet to the scriptures. Its Madiya is so bright that it cannot differentiate between day and night. In this world, he has no brother of old age, death, weakness, grief etc. Being the grace of Lord Shiva, he does not have any brother, grief or sorrow. O Narada, the king of Patal Lok is Vasuki, a snake. He always praises Lord Sadashiv in this way. He is eternal and infinite. Lord Sadashiv, you are the creator, nurturer and destroyer of all the three worlds. You are the master of all, the supreme Brahma. Despite being independent everywhere, you are under the control of the devotees. This is your specialty. O Narada, the seven people whose story I have told you are called the tax of the sky.
