इतनी कथा सुनकर नारद जी ने पूछा हे पिता आप मुझे यह बताने की कृपा कीजिए की चित्र यमुना में डूबने पर भी मरने से किस प्रकार बच गया ब्रह्मा जी बोले हे नारद या वृतांत इस प्रकार है कि यह समय चित्र जल के भीतर पहुंचा तो उसने वहां मांगों की अनेक स्त्रियों को कीड़ा करते हुए देखा उसे स्त्रियों की दृष्टि भी राजा पर पड़ी तो हुए उसकी सुंदरता पर मोहित हो गई और उसे अपने साथ पाताल में ले गए चित्र ने पाताल में जाकर यह देखा कि वह नागों की अनेक नगर बसे हुए हैं इस समय चित्र नागों के राजा तक्षक के रन जाती सिंहासन के समीप पहुंचा उसे समय वहां की विचित्र सामग्री एवं दास दशन की शोभा को देखकर या आश्चर्य चकित रह गए दादू प्रांत उसने परम तेजस्वी नाराज तक्षक को प्रणाम किया तक्षक ने भी उसे अत्यंत सुंदर देखकर अपनी स्त्रियों से पूछा यह राज पुत्र यहां किस प्रकार आया है तुमने इसे कहां से प्राप्त किया है उसे समय नागकन्याओं ने यह उत्तर दिया हे राजन हमें इसके कुल आदि के संबंध में कुछ भी ज्ञात नहीं है हम इसे यमुना नदी के जाल में पड़ा हुआ देखकर यहां ले आए हैं हे नारद नाग स्त्रियों की बात सुनकर तक्षक ने चित्र से पूछा है राजपत्र तुम कौन हो चित्रा ने भगवान सदाशिव का स्मरण कर प्रणाम करते हुए राजा तक्षक को सब वृतांत का सुनाया तब वही तथा यह कहा की है प्रभु पूर्व जन्म के अनेक उंगलियों के प्रताप से ही आज मुझे आपके दर्शन करने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ है मेरे पितरों को भी आज तक आपका शुभ दर्शन नहीं हुए हैं मैं यहां आकर आपके को परम सौभाग्यशाली समझता हूं चित्र के ऐसे विनम्र वचन सुनकर नाराज तक्षक ने अत्यंत प्रसन्न होते हुए कहा है राजपत्र आप तुम अपने मन मे किसी प्रकार की चिंता मत करो तथा सुख पूर्वक यह निवास करो हां एक बात तुम मुझे यह अवश्य बता दो कि तुम किस देवता का पूजन किया करते हो या सुनकर चित्र में उत्तर दिया है प्रभु सभी वेदों में जिन्हें महादेव कहा कह कर वर्णन किया गया है मैं उन्हें भगवान सदाशिव का पूजन करता हूं हे नारद चित्रानंद के मुख से भगवान सदा शिव की प्रशंसा सुनकर नाराज तक्षक ने अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर कहा है राजपत्र तुम्हारी बात सुनकर हम अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए तुम शुद्ध मार्ग को जानने वाले तथा शिवजी के भक्त हो तुम यहां रहकर सुख पूर्वक राज करो यह सर्वत्र आनंद ही आनंद है ना तो यहां कोई वृद्धि होता है और ना कोई रोगी होता है यहां का कोई निवासी मृत्यु को भी प्राप्त नहीं होता नागराज के मुख से यह वचन सुनकर चित्र आनंद ने उत्तर दिया है प्रभु मुझे यहां रहने में कोई आपत्ति नहीं है परंतु मेरे माता-पिता स्त्री तथा प्रजनन मुझे जल में डूबा हुआ जानकर अत्यंत दुख को प्राप्त हो रहे होंगे पता नहीं उनकी क्या हालत होगी आज तू यदि आप कृपा करके मुझे उसके समीप पहुंचा दें तो श्रेष्ठ होगा यह सुनकर नाराज तक्षक ने अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर चित्र आनंद को कुछ दिन तक तो अपने घर ठहरा कर स्वागत सत्कार किया तड़ उपरांत एक दिन अनेक प्रकार के रन वस्त्र आभूषण आई सामग्री उसे भेंट करता था कामयाब नाग नामक एक घोड़ा देकर उसके साथ अपना एक पुत्र तथा एक रक्षा कर दिया उसे यह आजा दिया कि तुम इस राजपत्र को घर तक विदा कर आओ विदा करते समय तक्षक ने चित्र नाम को यह विश्वास भी दिलाया कि इस समय तुम्हें हमें याद करोगे इस समय हम तुम्हारे पास पहुंच आएंगे आज तो नाराज ने विदा होकर चित्रानंद उन सेवकों के साथ घोड़े पर चढ़ या बना तट पर आज खड़ा हुआ वहां पहुंचकर तक्षक का पुत्र तथा चित्र आनंद घोड़े पर चढ़े हुए नदी के किनारो पर भ्रमण करने लगे

After listening to this story, Narad ji asked, O father, please tell me how Chitra was saved from dying even after drowning in the Yamuna. Brahma ji said, O Narad, this story is like this, when Chitra reached inside the water, he saw many women with their hair caressing each other. The women also saw the king and were fascinated by his beauty and took him with them to the netherworld. Chitra went to the netherworld and saw that there were many cities inhabited by snakes. At that time Chitra reached near the throne of the king of snakes, Takshak. He was surprised to see the strange things and the splendor of the Das Darshan there. Dadu province, he bowed to the extremely radiant Takshak. Takshak also seeing him extremely beautiful asked his wives, how did this prince come here, from where did you get him. At that time the snake girls replied, O king, we do not know anything about his clan etc. We have brought him here after seeing him lying in the net of the river Yamuna. O Narad, after listening to the snake women, Takshak asked Chitra, Rajpatra, who are you? Chitra, remembering Lord Sadashiv and bowing before him, narrated the entire incident to King Takshak. He then said, “O Lord, it is because of the power of many fingers of my previous life that I have got the good fortune of seeing you today. Even my forefathers have not had the auspicious sight of you till date. I consider you extremely fortunate to be here.” Hearing such humble words from Chitra, an angry Takshak became very happy and said, “O Rajpatra, you do not worry about anything in your mind and live here happily. Yes, you must tell me one thing that which god do you worship.” Hearing this, Chitra replied, “O Lord, I worship Lord Sadashiv, who has been described in all the Vedas as Mahadev.” O Narada, hearing the praise of Lord Sadashiv from the mouth of Chitranand, an angry Takshak became very happy and said, “O Rajpatra, we are very happy to hear your words. You know the pure path and are a devotee of Lord Shiva. You stay here and rule happily. It is only joy everywhere. There is no growth here and no decline.” No one is sick, no resident of this place even dies. Hearing these words from the mouth of Nagraj, Chitra Anand replied, "Prabhu, I have no problem in staying here, but my parents, wife and children must be feeling very sad knowing that I have drowned in the water. I don't know what their condition would be. If you kindly take me to them today, it would be good. Hearing this, angry Takshak was very happy and welcomed Chitra Anand by making him stay in his house for a few days. After that, one day he gifted him many types of war clothes, jewellery and other things. He gave him a horse named Kamyaab Nag and along with him, he gave him one of his sons and a protector. He gave him permission to send this king home. While sending him off, Takshak also assured Chitra Anand that if you remember us at this time, we will reach you at this time. After leaving, Chitra Anand along with those servants rode on the horse and stood on the bank. After reaching there, Takshak's son and Chitra Anand started roaming on the banks of the river on horseback.
