जो उदय कल के के सूर्य मंडल की सी कांति धरण करने वाली है जिसके चार भुजाएं और तीन नेत्र है तथा जो अपने हाथों में पास अंकुर वर्ग एवं अभय की मुद्रा धारण किए रहते हैं उन शिवा देवी का मैं ध्यान करता हूं ऋषि कहते हैं राजन इस प्रकार मैं तुम से देवी की अनुपम माता का वर्णन किया जो इस जगत को धारण करती है कौन देवी का ऐसा ही प्रभाव है वही विद्या ज्ञान उत्पन्न करती है भगवान विष्णु की माया रूप उन भगवती के द्वारा ही तुम यह पैसे तथा अन्य देवी की जन्म मोहित होते हैं मोहित हुए तथा आगे ही मोहित होंगे महाराज तुम उन्हें परमेश्वर की शरण में आओ आराधना करने पर हुए ही मनुष्य को भोग स्वर्ग तथा मोक्ष प्रदान करती है मारकंडे जी कहते हैं कास्टिक की मेधा मुनि के यह वचन सुनकर राजा सूरत ने उत्तम व्रत का पालन करने वाले उन मा भाग महर्षि को प्रणाम किया वह अत्यंत ममता और राज पारायण से बहुत चिन्ह हो चुके थे महामुनि इसलिए विरक्त होकर हुए राजा तथा वैश्य तत्काल तपस्या को चले गए और वह जगदंबा के दर्शन के लिए नदी के तट पर रहकर तपस्या करने लगे हुए वैसे उत्तम देवी सूचक का तप करते हुए तपस्या से प्रभावित हुए हुए दोनों नदी के तट पर देवी की मृत्यु मूर्ति बनाकर पुष्प धूप और हवन आदि के द्वारा उसकी आराधना करने लगे उन्होंने पहले तो आहार को धीरे-धीरे काम किया फिर बिल्कुल निराहार रहकर देवी में ही मन लगाए एकाग्रता पूर्वक उनका चिंतन आरंभ किया वह दोनों अपने शरीर के रक्त से प्रसिद्ध बलित देते हुए लगातार 3 वर्ष तक संयम पूर्वक आराधना करते रहे इस पर प्रसन्न होकर जगत को धारण करने वाली चंडिका देवी से प्रयत्न दर्शन देखकर कहा देवी बोली राजन तथा अपने स्कूलों को आनंदित करने वाली वेश्या तुम लोग जिस वस्तु के अभिलाषा रखते हो वह मुझे मांगो मैं संतुष्ट हुआ था तुम्हें वह सब कुछ दूंगी मारकंडे जी कहते हैं तब राजा ने दूसरे जन्म में नष्ट न होने वाला राज मांगा तथा इस जन्म में भी शत्रुओं की साओ को बलपूर्वक नष्ट करके पुणे अपना राज प्राप्त कर लेने का वरदान मांगा वैश्या का चिंता संसार की ओर से किन एवं विरक्त हो चुका था और वह बड़े बुद्धिमान थे अतः उसे समय उन्होंने तो ममता और आता रूप आशिक का नाश करने वाला ज्ञान मांगा देवी बोली राजन तुम थोड़े ही दिनों में शत्रुओं को मार मार कर अपना राज प्राप्त कर लोगे तब वह तुम्हारा राज्य स्थिर होगा फिर मृत्यु के पश्चात तुम भगवान विश्वास सूर्य के अंत में जन्म लेकर इस पृथ्वी पर आणविक मनु के नाम से विख्यात होंगे वह भी इस वक्त तुम भी जिम वर्क को उसे प्राप्त करने की इच्छा की है उसे देता हूं तुझे मोक्ष के लिए ज्ञान प्राप्त होगा मारकंडे जी कहते हैं इस प्रकार उन दोनों मनवांछित वरदान देकर तथा उसके द्वारा भक्ति पूर्वक अपनी स्तुति सुन कर देवी अंबिका तत्काल अंतर ध्यान हो गई इस तरह देवी से वरदान पाकर क्षत्रियों में श्रेष्ठ सूरत सूर्य से जन्म ले संविक नमक मनु होंगे इति श्री मार्कंडेय पुराने सर्वत्र मन्वंत्रण देवी माता सूरत था प्रधान नाथ त्रयोदशी

Both of them kept on worshipping with restraint for 3 years by offering sacrifice made from the blood of their bodies. Pleased with this, Chandika Devi, who sustains the world, after seeing their darshan, said to the king, and the prostitute who makes her daughters happy, ask me for whatever you desire, I was satisfied and will give you everything. Markande ji says that then the king asked for a kingdom which would not be destroyed in the next birth and in this birth also he asked for the boon of getting his kingdom back by destroying the enemies with force. The prostitute had become detached from the world and he was very intelligent, hence at that time he asked for the knowledge which would destroy the attachment and the lover of love.
