रौच्य मनुकी उत्पत्ति कथा 

मारकंडे जी कहते हैं ब्राह्मण पूर्व कल की बातें हैं प्रजापति रुचि ममता और आशा से रहित इस पृथ्वी पर विराजते थे उन्हें किसी से भाई नहीं था वह बहुत कम सोते थे उन्होंने ना तो अग्नि की स्थापना की थी और ना अपने लिए घर ही बना रखा था वह एक बार भोजन करते थे और बिना आश्रम के ही रहते थे उन्हें सब प्रकार की आसक्तियों से रहित एवं मनोवृति से रहते थे उनके पितरों ने उन्हें कहा पीटर बोल बेटा विवाह स्वर्ग और उपसर्ग का हेतु दूर होने के कारण एक पुण्य में कार्य है उसे तुमने क्यों नहीं किया गृहस्थ पुरुष समस्त देवताओं पितरों ऋषियों और अतिथियों की पूजा करके पूर्णिमा में लोगों को प्राप्त करता है वह इस वाहन के उच्चारण से देवताओं को स्वाध्याय शब्द से पितरों का तथा अन्यादान वाली वैदिक आदि से भूत और प्राणियों एवं अतिथियों को उनका भाग समर्पित करता है बेटा हम ऐसा मानते हैं कि गृहस्थ आश्रम को स्वीकारना करने पर तुम्हें इस जीवन में क्लेश भारत कॉलेज उठाना पड़ेगा तथा मृत्यु के बाद और दूसरे जन्म में भी कल सी भोगना पड़ेगा रुचि ने कहा पितृगन परिग्रह मात्र ही अत्यंत दुख एवं पाप का कारण होता है तथा उस मनुष्य की अधोगति होती है यही सोचकर मैंने पहले स्त्री संग्रह नहीं किया मां और इंद्रियों को निमंत्रण में रखकर जो यह आत्म संयम किया जाता है वह भी परिग्रह करने पर मोक्ष का साधन नहीं होता  ममता रूप खिचड़ी में भी सना हुआ होने पर भी यह आत्मा तो परिग्रह शून्य चित्र रूपी जल से प्रतिदिन धोया जाता है वह श्रेष्ठ पर्यटन है जितेंद्रिय विधि मानव को चाहे कि वह अनेक जनों द्वारा सचित्र कर्म रूपी पकड़ में सने हुए आत्मा का संडास रूपी जल से प्रति लक्षण करें पीटर बोले बेटा जितेंद्र होकर आत्मा का पर लक्षण करना उचित ही है किंतु तुम जिस पर चल रहे हो वह मोक्ष का मार्ग है किंतु फल अचूरित दान और शुभ अशुभ के उपभोग से भी पूर्व कृत अशोक कर्म दूर होता है किसी प्रकार दयाभाव से प्रेरित होकर जो कर्म किया जाता है वह बंधक कारक नहीं होता फल कामना से रहित कम भी बंधन में नहीं डालता पूर्व जन्म में किया हुआ मानव का शुभ अशुभ कर्म सुख-दुख में भोगने के रूप में प्रतिदिन भोगे पर ही छेद होता है इस प्रकार विद्यमान पुरुष आत्मा का पर लक्षण करते और उसकी बंधनों से रक्षा करते हैं ऐसा करने से वह अभिव्यक्त के कारण पाप रूपी कीचड़ में ही नहीं फसता रुचि से पूछा पितामह को वेदों में कर्म मार्ग को अविघा ही कहा गया है इसमें तनिक भी मिथ्या नहीं है फिर भी इतना तो निश्चित है कि उसे विद्या की प्राप्ति में कर्म ही कारण है विद्युत कर्म का पालन न करने के जो आदम मनुष्य यह रखते हैं वह संयम अंत में मोक्ष की प्राप्ति नहीं करता अपितु आध्या प्रति में ले जाने वाले होता है वात्सल्य तुम तो समझते हो कि मैं आत्मा का पर लक्षण करता हूं किंतु वास्तव में तुम शास्त्र विद्युत कर्मों के न करने के कारण पापों से दाग हो रहे हो कम आदित्य होने पर भी विधि के पालन द्वारा शोध्य हुए विषय की भांति मनुष्यों का उपकार करने वाला ही होता है इसके विपरीत वृत्तीय भी विधि की अवहेलना से निश्चय ही हमारे बंधन का कारण बन जाती है अतः वर्षा ले तुम विधि पूर्वक स्त्री संग्राम करो ऐसा न हो कि इस लोक का लाभ न मिलने के कारण तुम्हारा जन्म निष्फल हो जाएगा रुचि ने कहा पितरों आप तो मैं बूढ़ा हो गया भला मुझको कौन स्त्री देगा इसके सिवाय मुझे जैसे दरिद्र के लोग स्त्री को रखना बहुत कठिन कार्य है पीटर बोले वात्सल्य यदि हमारी बात नहीं मानोगे तो हम लोग का पतन हो जाएगा और तुम्हारे भी अधोगति होगी मारकंडे जी कहते हैं मुनिश्रेष्ठ योग का आकार पिता और उसके देखते-देखते वायु के बुझे हुए दीपक की भांति साहस अदृश्य हो गए पितरों की बात से रूचि का मन बहुत उदित हुआ वह अपने विवाह के लिए कन्या प्राप्त करने की इच्छा से पृथ्वी पर विचारने लगे हुए पितरों के वचन रूप अग्नि से तक हो रहे थे कोई कन्या ना मिलने से उन्हें बड़ी भारी चिंता हुई उनका चित्र अत्यंत व्याकुल हो उठा इसी अवस्था में उन्हें यह बुद्धि सूजी की मैं तपस्या के कारण श्री ब्रह्मा जी की आराधना करूं ऐसा निश्चय करके उन्होंने कठोर नियम का आश्रय ले श्री ब्रह्मा जी का आराधना के निर्माता 100 वर्ष तक भारी तपस्या की तप तथा अंतर लोग पितामह ब्रह्मा जी ने उन्हें दर्शन किया और कहा मैं प्रशांत हूं तुम्हारी जो इच्छा हो मांग लो तब रुचि ने जगत के आधारभूत ब्रह्मा जी को प्रणाम करके पितरों के कथन अनुसार अपना अभीष्ट निवेदन किया रुचि की अभिलाषा सुनकर ब्रह्मा जी ने उससे कहा प्रिया पर तुम प्रजापति हो जाओगे तुमने प्रजा की सृष्टि होगी प्रजा की सृष्टि तथा पुत्रों की उत्पत्ति कारण ने के साथ ही शुभ कर्मों का अनुष्ठान करके सब जब तुम अपने अधिकार का त्याग कर दोगे तब तुम्हें सिद्धि प्राप्त होगी अब तुम स्त्री प्राप्ति की अभिलाषा लेकर पितरों का पूजन करो वही प्रसन्न होने पर तुम्हें अनुवांशिक पत्नी पुत्र प्रदान करेंगे भला पीटर संतुष्ट हो जाएंगे तो वह क्या नहीं दे सकते मारकंडे जी कहते हैं मुनि अभ्यक जन्म ब्रह्मा जी ने यह वचन सुनकर रुचि ने नदी के एकांत तट पर पितरों का तर्पण किया और भक्ति से मस्तक झुका कर एक आग्रह एवं जीत चिंता चित हो नीचे लिखे स्रोतों द्वारा आदर पूर्वक उसकी स्तुति की रूचि बोली जो श्रद्धा में अधिष्टा देवता के रूप में निवास करते हैं तथा देवता श्री श्रद्धा में इस बात को वचन द्वारा जिनका दर्पण करते हैं उन पितरों को मैं प्रणाम करता हूं भक्ति और मुक्ति की अभिलाषा रखने वाले महीसागर स्वर्ग में ही मानसिक श्रृद्धाओं के द्वारा भक्ति पूर्वक जिन्हें तृप्ति करते हैं सिद्ध गांठ दिव्या उपहार द्वारा श्रद्धा में जिनको संतुष्ट करते हैं अत्यधिक समृद्धि की इच्छा रखने वाले गुहा भी तन्मय होकर भक्ति भाव से जिसकी पूजा करते हैं भूल लोग मनुष्य गण जिनकी सदा आराधना करते हैं जो श्रद्धा में श्रद्धा पूर्वक पूजित होने पर मनवांछित लोक प्रदान करते हैं पृथ्वी पर ब्राह्मण लोग अभिलाषित वस्तु की प्राप्ति के लिए उनकी अर्चना करते हैं तथा जो आराधना करने पर प्रजापति लोग प्रदान करते हैं उन पितरों को मैं प्रणाम करता हूं तपस्या करने से जिनके पाप धुल गए हैं तथा जो समय पूर्वक आहार करने वाले हैं ऐसा वनवासी महात्मा वन के फल मूल्य द्वारा श्रद्धा करके जिन्हें तृप्ति करते हैं उन पितरों को मैं मस्तक झुकता हूं नास्तिक ब्रह्मचर्य व्रत का पालन करने वाले साइन ममता ब्राह्मण समाधि के द्वारा जिन्हें सदा तृप्ति करते हैं क्षत्रिय सब प्रकार के श्रद्धा उपयोगी पदार्थ के द्वारा विद्युत श्रद्धा करके दिन को संतुष्ट करते हैं जो तीनों लोकों में अभीष्ट फल देने वाले हैं स्व कम पारायण बेस वक्त पुरुष पर धूप आज और जल आदि के द्वारा जिसकी पूजा करते हैं कथा सूत्र भी श्रृद्धांतों द्वारा भक्ति पूर्वक जिसकी तृप्ति करते हैं और जो संसार में सुकली के नाम से विख्यात एवं पितरों को मैं प्रणाम करता हूं पाताल में बड़े-बड़े दैत्य भी दम और मध्य त्याग कर श्रृद्धाओं द्वारा दिन स्वाध्याय भौजी पितरों को सदा तृप्ति करते हैं मनवांछित लोगों को पाने की इच्छा रखने वाले नागन रसातल में संपूर्ण भोगो एवं श्रद्धा से उसकी पूजा करते हैं तथा मंत्र भोग और संपत्तियों से युक्त सर्पगंधा भी करासत ताल में ही विधि पूर्वक श्रद्धा करके जिन्हें सर्वदा तृप्ति करते हैं उन पितरों को भी मैं नमस्कार करता हूं जो साक्षात देवलोक में अंतरिक्ष में और भुट्टल पर निवास करते हैं देवता आदि समस्त देवधारी जिनकी पूजा करते हैं उन पितरों को मैं नमस्कार करता हूं वह पिता मेरे द्वारा अर्पित किए हुए इस जल को ग्रहण करें जो परमात्मा स्वरुप पिता मूर्ति मां होकर भी मानव में निवास करते हैं जो समस्त कलेशों से छुटकारा दिलाने में हेतु है तथा योगी सारंगढ़ निर्मल हृदय से जिनका यॉन करते हैं उन पितरों को मैं प्रणाम करता हूं जो स्वाध्याय भौजी पिता दिव्य लोक में मूर्ति मां होकर रहते हैं काव्या फल की इच्छा रखने वाले पुरुषों की समस्त कामनाओं को पूर्ण करने में समर्थ है और इसका मन पुरुषों को मोक्ष प्रदान करने वाले हैं उनको मैं प्रणाम करता हूं वह समस्त भीतर इस जल से तृप्त हो जो चाहने वाले पुरुषों को इच्छा अनुसार भोग प्रदान करते हैं देव तत्व इंद्र तत्व तथा उसे ऊंचे पद की प्राप्ति करते हैं इतना ही नहीं जो पुत्र पशु धन बल और ग्रह भी देते हैं जो पीटर चंद्रमा की करने में सूर्य के मंडल में तथा श्वेत विमान में सदा निवास करते हैं वह मेरे दिए हुए अंतरजाल और गद्य आदि में तृप्ति एवं पोस्ट को अग्नि में आवेश का हवन करने से जिनको तृप्त होती है जो ब्राह्मणों के शरीर में स्थित होकर भोजन करते हैं तथा पिंडदान करने से जिन्हें प्रसन्नता प्राप्त होती है वह पितरों यहां मेरे दिए हुए अन्य और जल से तृप्त होंगे और देवताओं से भी पूजित है तथा सब प्रकार के श्रद्धा उपयोगी पदार्थ जिन्हें अत्यंत प्रिय है हुए पिता री पधारे मेरे निवेदन किए हुए पुष्प गधा अन्य एवं भोजन पदार्थ के निकट उसकी उपस्थिति को जो प्रतिदिन पूजा ग्रहण करते प्रत्येक मास के अंत में जिनकी पूजा करनी चाहिए उचित है जो अन्य सत्ता में वर्ष के अंत में तथा इबू डाल कल में भी पूजनीय है वह मेरे पिता वहां तृप्ति लाभ करें जो ब्राह्मणों के यहां कुमार और चंद्रमा के समान शांति धारण करके आते हैं छतरियां के लिए जिनका वाहन नमोहित सूर्य के समान है जो वैश्यों को यहां सुवर्ण के समान उचित उज्ज्वल क्रांति धारण करते हैं तथा स्रोतों के लिए जो श्याम बनके हो जाते हैं वह समस्त पीतल मेरे दिए हुए पुष्पा गांधी धूप अन्य और जल आदि से तथा अग्निहोत्र से सदा तृप्ति लाभ करें मैं उन सबको प्रणाम करता हूं जो वेद देवी पूर्वक समर्पित किया हुए श्रद्धा को पूर्ण तृप्ति के लिए भोजन करते हैं और तृप्त हो जाने पर ऐश्वर्या की सृष्टि करते हैं वह पिता री तृप्त हो मैं हूं सबको नमस्कार करता हूं जो राक्षसों भूतों तथा भयानक असुरों का नाश करते हैं प्रजा जनों का अनुमान दूर करते हैं जो देवताओं को भी पार्वती तथा देवराज इंद्र के भी पूज्य हैं हुए यहां तृप्त हो मैं उन्हें प्रणाम करता हूं अग्नि व्रत पितृगन मेरी पूर्व दिशा की रक्षा करें बहिष पद पितृगन दक्षिण दिशा की रक्षा करें आप क्या नाम वाले मित्र पर स्कीम दिशा की तथा स्वंपॉप यज्ञ सहयोग्य पीतल उत्तर दिशा की रक्षा करें उन सबके स्वामी यमराज राक्षसों भूतों की सच्चर तथा सुरों के दोस्त से सब और से मेरी रक्षा करें विश्व विश्व आराध्य धाम धन्य सुभान भूत भूत का भूत के पितरों के नव गानों है कल्याण कल्याण करता कप कल्यारत कल यात्रा हेतु तथा अध्ययन के पितरों के छह गन मन गए हैं वरवेशन क पृष्ठित कृषि भी साथ तथा ग्राहक के पितरों के साथ गण है महान महात्मा महेश महिमा वन और महाबल यह पितरों के पाप नाशक  पंचगंद है सुखद धनत धर्म और भूत आदि पितरों के चार गुण कहे जाते हैं इस प्रकार कुल 31 पितृगन है जिन्होंने संपूर्ण जगत को व्याप्त रख कर रखा हैवह सब पूर्ण तृप्त होकर मुझ पर संतुष्ट हो और सदा मेरा हिट करें मारकंडे जी कहते हैंमनु इस प्रकार इस स्मृति करते हुएरुचि के समक्ष साहस एक बहुत ऊंचा तेज पूर्ण प्रकट हुआ है जो संपूर्ण आकाश में व्याप्त है समस्त संसार को व्याप्त करके स्थिति हुए उसे महान तेज को देखकर रुचि ने पृथ्वी पर घुटने टेक दिए और इस स्तोत्र का गण किया रूचि बोली जो सबके द्वारा पूजित अमूर्त अत्यंत तेजस्वी धनी तथा दिव्या दृष्टि प्रसन्न है उन पितरों को मन सदा नमस्कार करता हूं जो इंद्र आदि देवताओं दक्ष मार्जित शब्द ऋषि तथा दूसरों के भी नेता है कामना की पूर्ति करने वाले उसे पितरों को वह प्रणाम करता हूं जो मनु आदि राज ऋषियों मुनीश्वरों तथा सूर्य और चंद्रमा के भी नायक है उन समस्त चित्रों को मजल और समुद्र में भी नमस्कार करता हूं नक्षत्र ग्रहण वायु अग्नि आकाश एगो लोक तथा पृथ्वी के भेजो अभिनेता है उन पितरों को मैं हाथ जोड़कर नमस्कार प्रणाम करता हूं जो देवर्षि के जन्मदाता समस्त लोगों द्वारा वर्जित तथा सदा अक्षय फल के प्रदाता उन पितरों को मैं हाथ जोड़कर प्रणाम करता हूं प्रजापति कश्यप सोंग वरुण तथा योगेश्वर के रूप में स्थित चित्रों को सदा हाथ जोड़कर प्रणाम करता हूं सातों लोगों में स्थित सात पितृगन को नमस्कार है मैं योग दृष्टि संपन्न कि राहु ब्रह्मा जी को प्रणाम करता हूं चंद्रमा के आधार पर प्रतिष्ठित तथा योग मूर्ति धारी चित्रों को मैं प्रणाम करता हूं साथ ही संपूर्ण जगत के पिता सोम को नमस्कार करता हूं तथा अग्नि रूप अग्नि स्वरूप अन्य पितरों को बीमा प्रणाम करता हूं क्योंकि यह संपूर्ण जगत अग्नि और सोमवार है जो पिक्चर तेज में स्थित है जो यह चंद्रमा सूर्य और रागिनी के रूप में दृष्टिगोचर होते हैं तथा यह जगत स्वरूप एवं ब्रह्म स्वरुप है उन संपूर्ण योगी पितरों को मैं एकाग्रचित होकर प्रणाम करता हूं उन्हें बारंबार नमस्कार है हुए स्वाध्याय भौजी भीतर मुझ पर प्रसन्न हो मारकंडे जी कहते हैं मनी श्रेष्ठ रुचि के इस प्रकार स्तुति करने पर वह पीटर दसों दिशाओं को प्रकाशित करते हुए उसे देश से प्रसन्न निकले रुचि ने जो फूल चंदन और आप आदि संपत्ति किए थे उन सब ने विभूति होकर हुए पीटर सामने खड़े दिखाई दिए तब रुचि ने हाथ जोड़कर पुणे भक्ति पूर्वकों ने प्रणाम किया और बड़े आदर के साथ सबके पृथक पृथक कहा आपको नमस्कार है आपको नमस्कार है इससे प्रसन्न होकर पितरों ने मुनिश्रेष्ठ रुचि से कहा वसले तुम कोई और मांगो तब उन्होंने मस्तक झुका कर कहा पितरों इस समय ब्रह्मा जी ने मुझे सृष्टि करने का आदेश दिया है इसलिए मैं दिव्या गुना से संपन्न उत्तम पत्नी चाहता हूं जिन्हें संतान की उत्पत्ति हो सके पितरों ने कहा वत्सल यही इस समय तुम्हें अत्यंत मनोहर पत्नी प्राप्त होगी और उनके गर्व से तुम्हें मनु संज्ञा को उत्तम पुत्र की प्राप्ति होगी वह बुद्धिमान पुत्र मन्वंत्रण का स्वामी होगा और तुम्हारे ही नाम पर तीनों लोक में रुचि के नाम से उनकी ख्याति होगी उनके भी महा बलवान और पराक्रमी बहुत से महत्व पुत्र होंगे जो इस पृथ्वी का पालन करेगी धाम यज्ञ तुम भी प्रजापति होकर चार प्रकार की प्रजा उत्पन्न करोगे और फिर अपना अधिकार छेद होने पर सीडीओ को प्राप्त होगा जो मनुष्य इस स्रोत से भक्ति पूर्वक हमारी स्तुति करेगा उनके ऊपर संतुष्ट होकर हम लोग उसे मनवांछित भोग तथा उत्तम आत्मज्ञान प्राप्त करेंगे जो की रोग शरीर धन और पुत्र पुत्र आदि की इच्छा करता हो वह सदा ही स्रोत से हम लोगों की स्तुति करेगा यह स्रोत हम लोग की प्रसन्नता बढ़ाने वाला है जो श्रद्धा में भोजन करने वाले श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण के समान खड़ा हो भक्ति पूर्वक की स्त्रोत का पाठ करेगा वह यह स्रोत श्रवण के प्रेम से हम निश्चय की उपस्थित होंगे और हमारे लिए किया हुआ श्रद्धा भी निशान दे अक्षय होगा चाहे स्रोतित ब्राह्मण से रहित श्रद्धा हो चाहे वह किसी दोस्त से दूषित हो गया अथवा आदमी आने उपार्जित धान से किया गया हो अथवा श्रद्धा के लिए अयोग्य दूषित सामग्री से उनका अनुष्ठान हुआ हो अनुचित समय अयोग्य देश में हुआ हो या उसमें विधि का उल्लंघन किया गया हो अथवा लोगों ने विनाश श्रद्धा के या दिखावे के लिए किया हो तो भी वह श्रद्धा इसके स्रोत के पाठ से हमारी तृप्ति करने में समर्थ होगा हमें सुख देने वाला या स्रोत यहां जहां श्रद्धा में पढ़ा जाता है वह हम लोगों को 12 वर्ष तक बनी रहने वाली तृप्ति प्राप्त होगी यह स्रोत यह मंत्र ऋतु में श्रद्धा के अवसर पर सुनने से हमें 12 वर्ष के लिए तृप्ति प्रदान करता है इसी प्रकार शिविर शिशिर ऋतु में यहां कल्याण में स्रोत हमें 24 वर्ष तक तृप्ति कारक होता है वसंत ऋतु में श्रद्धा में सुनने पर यह 16 वर्ष तक तृप्ति कारक होता है तथा ग्रीष्म ऋतु में पढ़े जाने पर यह उतने ही वर्ष तक तृप्ति का साधन होता है रुचि वर्ष ऋतु में किया हुआ श्रद्धा यदि किसी और से भी कल हो तो भी इस ऋतु में पहाड़ से पूर्ण होता है और उसे श्रद्धा से हमें अच्छा तृप्ति होती है शरीर तत्काल में भी श्रद्धा के अवसर पर यदि इस प्रकार पाठ हो तो यह हमें 15 वर्ष तक के लिए तृप्ती प्रदान करता है जिस घर में यह स्रोत श्रद्धा लिखकर रखा जाता है वहां श्रद्धा करने पर हमें निश्चय ही उपस्थित होती है अतः मा भाग श्रद्धा में भोजन करने वाले ब्राह्मणों के सामने तुम्हें यह स्रोत अवश्य सुनना चाहिए क्योंकि यह हमारी पुष्टि करने वाला है मारकंडे जी कहते हैं पौष्टिक जी तदांतर रुचि के समीप उसे नदी के भीतर चर्चा रे अनु वाली मनोहर अप्सरा प्रज्वलित प्रकट हुए और महात्मा गुरु जी से मधुर वाणी में विनय पूर्वक बोली तपोषणीयों में श्रेष्ठ रुचि मेरी एक परम सुंदरी कन्या है जो वरुण के पुत्र महात्मा पुकार से उत्पन्न हुई है मैं उसे सुंदरी कन्या को तुम्हें पत्नी बनने के लिए देता हूं ग्रहण करो उसके गर्भ से तुम्हारे पुत्र महा बुद्धिमान मनु का जन्म होगा तब रुचि ने तथास्तु का कर उसकी बात स्वीकार की इसके बाद पर लब ने अपने कन्या मलिक को जल के बाहर प्रकट किया 19 श्रेष्ठ रुचि ने महेश महर्षियों को बुलाकर नदी नदी के तट पर उसकी विधि पूर्वक पाणिग्रहण किया उसी के गर्व से महाप्रक में परम बुद्धिमान पुत्र का जन्म हुआ जो इस मंडल में पिता के नाम पर अनुचित मुनि के नाम से विख्यात हुए उसके मनोरंजन में जो देवता सप्तऋषि तथा मनु पुत्र होने वाले हैं उन सबके नाम तुम्हें बतलाए जा चुके हैं इस मनुवंत्रण की कथा सुनने पर मनुष्यों के धर्म की वृद्धि आरोग्य की प्राप्ति तथा धन-धान्य और पुत्र की प्राप्ति होगी इसमें तनिक भी संदेह नहीं है महामुनि पितरों का स्थान तथा उसके विभिन्न गानों का वर्णन सुना कर मनुष्य उन्हीं के प्रसाद से संपूर्ण कामनाओं को प्राप्त करता है

Markandeji says that the Brahmins lived in the past. Prajapati Ruchi lived on this earth, devoid of attachment and hope. He had no brother. He slept very little. He had neither established a fire nor built a house for himself. He ate only once a day and lived without an ashram. He was devoid of all attachments and lived with a disciplined attitude.
