दधीचि बोले हे अविनाशी पुरुष भगवान विष्णु तुम्हारी तरह मुर्ख नहीं है जो कि वह भी मोहित होकर तुम्हारे लिए स्वयं युद्ध करेंगे जिन विष्णु को तुम भगवान शिव से यज्ञ की रक्षा के लिए यहां आया हुआ देख रहे हो वह जिस प्रकार यज्ञ की रक्षा करेंगे उसे तुम अपने आंखों से सीख रही देखोगे श्री महादेव जी बोले अंदड़ी जी की यह बात सुनकर क्रोध से अत्यंत लाल नेत्रों वाले दक्ष ने अपने अनुचर से या कहा इस ब्राह्मण को यहां से दूर ले जाओ मुनिश्रेष्ठ दधीचि भी उसे दक्ष की बात पर हंस पड़े और बड़े बोले अरे मुठ तुम मुझे क्या दूर करोगे तुम तो स्वयं भी अपने कल्याण से दूर हो गए हो दुरमति भगवान शिव के क्रोध से उत्पन्न दंड तुम्हारे सिर पर शीघ्र ही गिरेगा इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है ऐसा कह कर मध्य मां काल में सूर्य के समान तेज संपन्न तथा क्रोध से लाल नेत्रों वाले मुनिश्रेष्ठ दादी की सभा के मध्य से निकल गए तत्पश्चात शिव तत्व को जाने वाले दुर्वासा रामदेव चमन गौतम आदि समस्त ऋषिगढ़ भी वहां से उठकर चल दिए उन सभी ऋषियों के चले जाने पर दक्ष ने शेष ब्राह्मणों को दुगनी दक्षिणा देकर महान यज्ञ आरंभ किया भारत सभी बंधु बांधों के कहने पर भी उसे दक्ष में देवी सती को यज्ञ में किसी प्रकार नहीं बुलवाया उसने अत्यंत छेद होने वाले दक्ष ने उसे पर प्रारंभ प्राकृतिक का घोर अपमान किया दक्ष प्रजापति तो इस समय महामाया स्वरूपिणी जगदंबा के द्वारा तक दिए गए इसके बाद गिरजा राज हिमालय पर भगवान शिव के पास विराजमान सर्वज्ञ जगदंबा का वह सब बातें जान गई और वह विचार करने लगी मुझे पुत्री रूप में प्राप्त करने के लिए गिरिराज हिमालय की पत्नी में नाम विनम्रता पूर्वक प्रेम भाव से सच्ची भक्ति के साथ मेरी प्रार्थना की थी मैंने उसे स्वीकार कर लिया था कि मैं उसकी पुत्री के रूप में नहीं संडे जन्म दूंगा इस प्रकार पूर्व काल में जब दक्ष प्रजापति ने मुझे पुत्री रूप में पानी के लिए उसे प्रार्थना की थी तब मैंने उनसे कहा था कि जब मेरी प्रति आपका आदर भाव कम हो जाए तब आपका पुण्यक्षण हो जाएगा उसे समय अपने माया से आपको मोहित करके माय नियमित रूप से आपका त्याग कर दूंगा तो वह समय आ गए हैं इस समय मेरे प्रति अनादर भाव वाले दक्ष प्रजापति का पूर्ण नष्ट हो चुका है आता अपनी लीला सिंह का परित्याग कर मैं अपनी स्थान को चली जाऊंगी तदांतर हिमालय के घरों में जन्म लेकर एक मात्र प्राण वल्लभ देवेश महेश्वर शिव को प्रतीक रूप में न प्राप्त करूंगी इस प्रकार अपने मन मे विचार करके दक्ष पुत्री माहेश्वरी सती उसे छड़ की प्रतीक्षा करने लगी जब दक्ष के यज्ञ का विनाश होगा उसे समय ब्रह्मपुत्र धारा दक्ष के घर से वहीं पर आ जाएगा जहां भगवान शिव विराजमान थे तीन नेत्र वाले देव अति देव शिव की तीन बार परिक्रमा करके नारद ने कहा और दक्ष ने अपने उसे महायज्ञ में सभी को बुलवाया है देवता मनुष्य गंधर्व किन्नर नाग पर्वत तथा अन्य जो प्राणी स्वर्ग मृत्यु लोक और आशा ताल में है उन सभी को उसने बुलाया केवल आप दोनों शिव सती को ही छोड़ दिया उसे प्रजापति दक्ष की पूरी को आप दोगे दोनों से रहित देखकर उसका परित्याग करके दुखी मन से मैं आपके पास आया हूं आप दोनों का वह ज्यादा उचित है अतः अब आप विलंब मत कीजिए शिवजी बोले देवर्षि हम दोनों के वहां जाने का प्रयोजन ही किया है जैसी उसकी रुचि हो उसके अनुसार वह प्रजापति दक्ष अपना यज्ञ करें नारद जी बोले यदि वे दक्ष आपका अपमान की इच्छा करते हुए वह महान यज्ञ संपन्न करते हैं तो इसके आपके प्रति लोगों में आधार का भाव उत्पन्न हो जाएगा परमेश्वर या जानकर आप यह तो अपना ही आजा भाग ग्रहण कीजिए अथवा सुरेश्वर होश यज्ञ में से विद्या विद्या विधान डालिए ताकि वह संपन्न ना हो सके शिवजी बोले वहां ना मर जाऊंगा और ना तो मेरी प्राणप्रिया वहां सती ही जाएगी वहां पहुंचने पर वह भी दक्ष मुझे या भाग नहीं देंगे श्री महादेव जी बोले तब शिव जी के ऐसे गाने पर महर्षि नारद ने सती से कहा जग जननी उसे यज्ञ में अपना जाना तो उचित है अपने पिता के घरों में यज्ञ महोत्सव होने का समाचार सुनकर कोई कन्या धर्य धारण कर घर में भला कैसे रह सकती है जो आपके सभी दिव्या बहने हैं कोई यज्ञ में आए हुए हैं और दक्ष ने इस सभी स्वर्ण आदि के अनेक विधि आभूषण प्रदान किए हैं सुरेश स्वयं जगदंबा के अभियान के कारण इस प्रकार उन्होंने एक मात्र आपको नहीं बुलाया इस प्रकार आप भी उनके गमन को नष्ट करने का प्रयत्न कीजिए मन तथा अपमान के प्रति समभाव वाले परम योगी शिवनाथ तो उसे यज्ञ में जाएंगे और ना तो विधान ही पैदा करेंगे तदांतर दक्ष पुत्री सती से ऐसा कह कर महर्षि नारद ने शिवजी को प्रणाम करके पूरा दक्ष प्रजापति के घर के लिए प्रस्थान किया इस प्रकार श्री महा भागवत को महापुराण के अंतर्गत श्री शिवनाथ संवाद में दक्ष प्रजापति यज्ञ आरंभ वर्णन संपन्न हुआ

After all those sages left, Daksha told the remaining Brahmins He started a great yagya by giving double the dakshina. Even after being requested by all his brothers and sisters, Daksha did not invite Goddess Sati to the yagya. Daksha, who was extremely cunning, insulted the nature of the beginning. At that time, Daksha Prajapati was given the protection by Mahamaya Swarupini Jagdamba. After this, the omniscient Jagdamba, who was seated near Lord Shiva on Giriraj Himalaya, came to know about all those things and she started thinking that to get me as a daughter, the wife of Giriraj Himalaya, had prayed to me with humility, love and true devotion. I accepted her and said that I will not give birth to him as his daughter. Similarly, in the past, when Daksha Prajapati had prayed to him for me as his daughter, then I had told him that when your respect for me decreases, then your Punyaksha will be over. At that time, after enchanting you with my Maya, I will abandon you regularly. So, that time has come. At this time, Daksha Prajapati, who had disrespect for me, has been completely destroyed. Now, abandon your Leela Singh. I will go to my place and then I will not get the symbolic form of my only beloved Lord Maheshwar Shiva by taking birth in the houses of Himalayas. Thinking thus in her mind, Daksha's daughter Maheshwari Sati started waiting for the rod. When Daksha's yagya will be destroyed, at that time the stream of Brahmaputra will come from Daksha's house to the place where Lord Shiva was seated. Narada said after circumambulating the three-eyed god Shiva thrice and Daksha has called everyone in his great yagya, gods, humans, Gandharvas, Kinnars, snakes, mountains and other creatures who are in heaven, death, world and Asha Tal. He called all of them. Only you two, Shiva and Sati were left. You will give her the puri of Prajapati Daksha. Seeing her devoid of both of them, I have abandoned her and have come to you with a sad heart. It is more appropriate for both of you. Therefore, do not delay now. Shivji said, I will neither die there nor will my beloved go there as Sati. On reaching there, Daksha will also not give me this share. Hearing the news of Yagya Mahotsav being held in her father's house, how can a girl remain patient and stay at home, when all your divine sisters have come to the Yagya and Daksha has given all these ornaments of gold etc. Suresh, due to the campaign of Jagadamba herself, he did not invite only you, in this way you also try to prevent their departure. Shivnath, the supreme yogi who is equanimous towards mind and insult, will neither go to that Yagya nor will he create any Vidhan. Thereafter, saying this to Daksha's daughter Sati, Maharishi Narad bowed to Shivji and completed the prayer. He left for the house of Daksha Prajapati.
