श्रीमद् भागवत कथा पुराण दसवां स्कंध अध्याय 47 आरंभ

उद्धव का गोपियों को ज्ञान की शिक्षा देना

श्री सुखदेव जी बोले हैं राजा परीक्षित यमुना स्नान करके जब उद्धव वापस नंद जी के घर वापस लौट रहे थे उसी समय सूर्य अस्त हो रहा था सभी गोपियां अपने घरों से निकलकर बाहर आए तो उन्हें नंद जी के द्वार पर एक रात खड़ा देखकर पारस पर इस तरह का हमें लगी है सब की ऐसी प्रतीत होता है कि अक्रूर पापी पुणे आ पहुंचा है हमारे मन मोहन प्यारे हो वहां मथुरा ले आए आया है आपको सी वस्तु हमारे पास ऐसी है जो वह लेने आया है हमें बिरहा की अग्नि में भरम होते देख कर भी उसे चैन नहीं मिल रहा है क्या तब दूसरे को क्या कहने लगी हे सखी मुझे तो ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि श्याम सुंदर प्यारे ने हमारे सुधि लेने के लिए भेजा है अरे सखी थोड़ा उधर तो देखो हमारे चितचोर श्याम सुंदर की तरह पितांबर मुकुट और 1 माला धारण किए हुए वह कौन आ रहा है उन्होंने शीघ्र मथुरा से वापस आने के लिए कहा था कहीं वह ही तो नहीं आ रहे हैं एक गोपी करने पर सभी को किया उस दिशा की ओर देखने लगी जिस ओर से उद्धव जा रहे थे किंतु जब निकट आए तो गोपियों कहे थे उन्हें देख कर पुनः दुखी होने लगा क्योंकि वह श्यामसुंदर ना थे और उद्धव जी की वेशभूषा श्री कृष्ण चंद्र के समान लेकर गोपियां अपने काम का छोरा चारों ओर से घेरकर खड़ी हो गई जब उन्हें ज्ञात हुआ कि उद्धव जी हमारे प्रियतम श्री कृष्ण चंद्र जी के घर ठहरे हुए हैं तब वह अत्यंत प्रेम पूर्वक सत्कार करते हुए कहने लगे हैं उद्धव जी हमारे चितचोर मुरली मनोहर से गिराने के लिए हम से कह कर गए थे किंतु आए नहीं हम उनके बिना मॉल की दासी हैं उनके पीना दिन रात सोना उठना भोजन पानी कुछ भी अच्छा नहीं लगता फिर वह हमें भूल गए क्या मथुरा में हम गोपियों सुंदर स्त्रियां हैं जो उनके वश में हो गए तत्पश्चात दूसरी गोपी कहने लगी है उद्धव जी कन्हैया जी कपटी और नहीं है हमारे मन की पीड़ा नहीं समझते जिस तरह बोर पुष्पों से पराग चूसने की ही प्रतीत करता है पर आप टूटने के पश्चात दूसरे पुष्पों पर जा बैठता है उसी प्रकार श्री कृष्ण चंद्र हम वह क्यों से रसविलास कर चले गए तथा हमें भूल गए हैं उद्धव जी हम सभी के प्रेम में मतवाली हैं रहे हैं उन्हें तो हमारी याद भी नहीं आती होगी जिस तरह विद्यमान पूर्ण हो जाने पर शिष्य अपने गुरु को छोड़ कर चले जाते हैं दक्षिणा मिल जाने पर ब्राम्हण अपने यजमान के घर से चले जाते हैं उसी तरह विवेचना री पुरुष काम बनने के पश्चात स्त्रियों को त्याग देता है चाहे वह इस्त्री उसे कितना भी प्रेम करती हो हे राजा परीक्षित वह गोपियां जिस घड़ी उद्धव जी को खरी-खोटी सुना रही थी उसी समय एक घोड़ा दौड़ता हुआ आया और उस गोपी के मुख चंद्र को चूमने लगा भंवरे के इस कृत्य को देखकर वह बिरहा में अत्यंत व्याकुल होने लगी किंतु तीसरी गोपियां जो अब तक चुप खड़ी थी भवरे की लीला को देख कर कहने लगी हरे भवरा तू हमारे गोपियों के गोपाल ओं को क्यों चिंता है तू श्याम सुंदर का भेजा हुआ दूध है और तेरा भी रंग रूप उसके सामान काला है अतः तेरा ही रह भी काला होगा जिस प्रकार उन्होंने हमें गोपियों के साथ कपट का व्यवहार किया है उसी तरह तू भी कपटी होगा अतः तू यहां से चला जा हमें उसके अलावा कुछ भी अच्छा नहीं लगता तो उन्हीं के पास जाकर गुणगान कर जिसे चरण की सेवा स्वयं लक्ष्मी जकरती फिर हुए हम गवार गोपियों को क्यों याद करेगा तब एक आने गोपियां अपने व्याकुलता प्रकट करती हुई कहने लगे काले रंग के बहुत से जीव होते हैं सर्प का रंग काला होता है जो प्राणियों को अत्यंत दुख पहुंचाता है हेतराम तू हमें इस तरह हार ना तड़पा और मथुरा में जाकर हमारे हृदय में सदैव बसने वाले चितचोर कन्हैया से कह दो कि हम गोपियों को सताना न्याय नहीं है लक्ष्मी जी तुम्हारा स्वभाव नहीं जानते इसलिए तू पर मोहित रहती है मथुरा की स्त्रियां भी हमें हृदय की कठोरता का हाल नहीं जानती पांचवी गोपियां कहने लगी है परंतु श्री श्याम सुंदर के चरण कमरों का रसपान कर आता है इसलिए तेरा नाम मधुर कर हुआ है फोरम सखियों ने श्री कृष्ण के लिए पति पुत्र लोग लालच आदि का त्याग कर उन्हें अपना सब कुछ समझा किंतु वे अत्यंत निर्मोही निकले उसकी बात सुनकर ललिता नाम गोपिया अत्यंत उदास होकर कहने लगी है सखियों इस बेचारे को क्यों भूल जाना देती हो हमारे चित्त के चोर जन्म-जन्म से कपट स्वभाव रखते हैं रामअवतार में उन्होंने पीड़ित शूर्पणखा के नाक कान काट दिया क पी राज बली के ऊपर छिपकर वहां चला आया और वामन अवतार में दैत्य राजबली द्वारा सम्मान पाकर भी छल से तीन पग भूमि के रूप में समस्त ब्रह्मांड आपका देवताओं को दे दिया हुए सदैव कपट ही तो करते आते हैं फिर भी हमें उन्हें चाह कर भी त्याग नहीं सकते क्योंकि उनके मंद मुस्कान हमारे हृदय में सूल बंद करते रहते हैं और आंखें उनका दर्शन करने के लिए उतावले रहते हैं तब एक अन्य गोपिया कहने लगी जो कुब्जा कंस का जूठा खाने वाली दासी थी उसे श्री मुरली मनोहर ने अपनी पटरानी बना लिया यह हम गोपियों के लिए चुल्लू भर पानी में डूब मरने वाली बात है और उद्धव जी से संदेश भेजो आकर जले हुए पर नमक छिड़क रहे हैं मथुरा की परम सुंदरी ने उन पर जादू कर दिया है जिससे हम गवार गोपियों को स्वप्न में भी याद ना करते होंगे हे सखियों या श्यामसुंदर फिर कभी हम सबको अपने मुख चंद्र का दर्शन देने आएंगे उनकी बात सुनकर उनके बगल में खड़ी दूसरी कॉपी करने लगे कि यह बात मुझसे क्यों पूछती हो जो तार तेरी है वह मेरी है जानना ही चाहते हो तो संदेश लेकर आओ आओ जी से पूछ कि वह यहां किस प्रयोजन से आए हैं यह परिचित गोपियों के पूछने पर उद्धवजी करने लगे थे ब्रज की गोपियों श्री कृष्ण जी के प्रति तुम्हारा अद्भुत प्रेम देखकर मुझे स्वयं से गर्ल होने लगी है क्योंकि उनके निकट रह कर भी मैं तुम्हारे जैसे प्रतीत ना कर सका सत्य वचन कहता हूं कि तुम सब सत्य सभाग्यशाली हो तुम्हारे दर्शन कर मैं धन्य हो गया है यह कह कर उन्होंने श्री कृष्ण चंद्र के हाथों से लिखा पत्र उन्हें दे दिया तथा समझने लगे कि तुम सब सतगुरु का ध्यान जोड़कर उनके निर्गुण स्वरूप का ध्यान करो आंखें बंद करके जीवो को दोनों नेताओं के बीच स्थापित करके ध्यान करो कि वह सदैव तुम्हें दिखाई देंगे गोपियों को ज्ञान का और योग साधना को उपदेश देते हुए हुए उन सब से अलग बैठ कर रोती हुई राधा रानी के निकट पहुंचे और मोतियों का हार देते हुए बोले थे राधा रानी तुम रोती क्यों हो इधर दृष्टि डालो श्री श्याम सुंदर ने तुम्हारे लिए सुंदर उपहार भेजा है उस हार को देखकर राधा जी ने कहा है उद्धव जी रत्नों के बने हुए आभूषण जिसमें 14 महान होते हैं हम हारे हुए अनमोल रत्न श्री कृष्ण कहां हैं उनके बिना यह भूषण महत्वहीन है और जो आप हमें योग साधना को उपदेश कर रहे हैं वह पूर्णता व्यर्थ है जरा 29t घुमा खरगोश और देखो श्यामसुंदर के सुकुमार हाथों में लिखे पत्र को पाकर गोपियों किस तरह मग्न हो रही हैं हे राजा परीक्षित राधा रानी के वजन को सुनकर उद्धव जी का ध्यान गोपियों की तरफ आउट हुआ उस दृश्य को देखकर वह उस पत्र को गोपियों के हाथ से वापस लेने के लिए दौड़ पड़े क्योंकि वह सब उस पत्र को एक दूसरे से छीनने का प्रयत्न कर रहे थे गोपियों ने उद्धव को अपने निकट आता देख भाग चली दूसरी गोपी उसके हाथ से पत्र छीन लेने का प्रयोग करने लगे इस तरह वह पत्र छोटे-छोटे टुकड़ों में बांटकर गोपियों के हाथ में पहुंच गया और वह उन टुकड़ों का निस्तारण लगी जैसे श्यामसुंदर कमल का फूल उनकी यह दशा देखकर उठाओ जी अपने मन में विचार करने लगे कि यह गोपियां पागल हैं भला पत्र के टुकड़े करने से क्या लाभ हुआ कृष्णा जी द्वारा लिखित संदेश को भी नहीं पढ़ पाई मैं भी अब क्या करूं यदि बलवारी मुझसे कहती तो मैं ही पढ़कर सुना देता उनकी मूर्खता पर वे पछताने लगी उधर गोपियों पत्र के टुकड़ों को कभी अपने हाथों से लगाती तो कभी घूमने लगती कोई कॉपी अपने हाथ में आए पत्र के टुकड़ों को अपने सीने से लगाकर भर्ती हुई कश्ती की तारे पत्र तू बड़ा भाग्यशाली है जो कन्हैया जी का स्पर्श तुझे प्राप्त हुआ तुझ पर आपने सुकुमार हाथों को उन्होने ने कई बार तेरा होगा तेरा जीवन धन्य हो गया तेरे सामान हमारे भाग कहां उसकी इस तरह के वीरा भरी वाणी सुनकर उद्धवजी करने लगे हे राधा रानी देख रही हो इस मूर्खता को कन्हैया के हाथ से लिखे हुए पत्र को इस तरह प्रेम कर रही है जैसे स्वयं के बीच आ गए हो भाई यह उनके हाल की नंद का सुख प्राप्त करने लगे हो राधा रानी उस समय मोहन खड़ी रो रही थी तब उद्धवजी उन्हें समझाना आरंभ किया और कहने लगी हे राधा रानी तुम तो ज्ञानवान हो तुम्हें श्री कृष्ण जी सबसे अधिक प्रेम करते थे तुम स्वयं विचार करो कि परम ब्रह्म परमेश्वर किसी एक प्राणी के प्रेम में बंद कर नहीं रह सकते इसलिए मैं कहता हूं कि तुम सब निर्गुण ब्रह्मा की उपासना करो इसी में तुम्हारा कल्याण है अन्यथा दोपहर इसी तरह उसके बिरहा में रोते बिलखते रहोगी हिंदू श्री कृष्णा के दर्शन नहीं हो सकेंगे जिसका दर्शन पाने के लिए बड़े-बड़े योगी जन ऋषि मुनि हद्दीन तपस्या करते हैं वर्षों निराहार रहकर उनके चरणों का ध्यान करते हैं क्या तुम सब रोककर उसकी दर्शन पाओगे मैं कहता हूं मेरा ज्ञान से तुम्हें सब कुछ प्राप्त हो जाएगा तुम्हारी समस्त अभिलाषा पूर्ण होगी अपरिचित उधर अंतर्यामी भगवान श्री कृष्णा जी उद्धव जी के मन में उत्पन्न ज्ञान के अभिमान को जान गए और उसी क्षण अपनी माया प्रकट करके राधा रानी के पास पहुंचा है तथा उनके कंधे पर अपना मस्तक रखकर उन्हें आवेदन करने लगे उद्धव श्री कृष्ण मोरनी को मोर मुकुट पीतांबर धारण किए हुए राधा रानी ने के निकट खड़े मद्मन मुस्कुराते हुए देखकर अत्यधिक आश्चर्य में पड़ गए उसी समय भगवान श्री कृष्ण चंद्र की शोभा देखने लायक थी राधा रानी भी मुस्कुरा रही थी हे राजन भगवान की लीला देखकर उद्धव जी रागनी मान नष्ट हो गया और वे अत्यंत दिन होकर श्री कृष्ण के चरणों में लेट गए तथा स्तुति करते हुए कहने लगी हे जगदीश्वर में ज्ञान के अभिमान में पढ़कर आपकी माया को भूल गया था हे भगवान से बड़ा अपराध हुआ है आप समस्त जगत के सिरजनहार सर्वत्र आपकी माया फैली हुई और कण-कण में आप विद्यमान है उद्धव द्वारा इस प्रकार की स्तुति करने पर श्री कृष्णा जी प्रसन्न होकर बोले हैं उद्धव अहंकार एक ऐसा रोग है जो प्राणी को सर्वोच्च तक चीन लेता है और जो मेरा प्रेम होता है वह के आकार को मान लेता हूं अर्थात उसके अहंकार को नष्ट कर सही मार्ग देता हूं तुम मुझे अत्यधिक प्रिय को तुम्हें वह क्यों को ज्ञान का उपदेश देने के लिए मैंने इसलिए भेजा कि तुम्हारे मन में बसे अभिमान का नाश हो जाएगा कि उद्धव मेरा सद्गुण अवतार है जो प्राणी मेरे इस अद्भुत स्वरूप का चिंतन करके वह भयमुक्त होकर परम पद को प्राप्त होगा यह सागर श्री कृष्णा जी क्षण मात्र में अंतर्ध्यान हो गए उस स्थान पर अकेली राधा जी खड़ी रह गई उस समय भी उद्धार उसके चरणों में अपना मस्तक रखे हुए थे तब राधा रानी कहने लगी है उद्धव जी आप परम ज्ञानी हैं इस तरह मेरे चरणों में आपको पड़े हुए देखकर लोग क्या कहेंगे हे परीक्षित राधा के कहने पर उद्धव जी ने अपना सिर ऊपर उठाया वहां नटवर नागर ना थे तब वे अत्यंत लज्जित हुए उनकी यह दशा देखकर आधा जी मुस्कुराने लगी उसकी ज्ञानलोक का गर्भ नष्ट हो गया तत्पश्चात वे करने लगी है देवियों मैं तुम्हें दर्शन पाकर धन्य हो गया तुम सब सत्य कहती हो श्री कृष्ण चंद्र के चरण कमलों से प्रतीत करना ही परमेश्वर की सच्ची भक्ति है धन्य भाग्य है तुम्हारे होठों पर उसके ध्यान में डूबी रहती हो इस प्रकार का कर उद्धवजी भी उनके रंग में डूबकर प्रेम अग्न होते हुए अपनी पर लौट कर वहीं राजनीति अपने तन में लपेटने लगे तत्पश्चात लीला बिहारी के लीलाओं की चर्चा करते हुए उद्धव जी उन स्थानों पर गए जहां लेला बिहारी श्री कृष्ण जी गोपियों के संग रास रचाए करते थे और हे राजा परीक्षित गोपियों के संग हुए यहां भी भूल गए कि उन्हें वापस जाकर यशोदा रोहणी नंद बाबा ग्रुप वालों तथा गोपियों का समाचार नटवर नागर को सुनाना है वह हर घड़ी इसी विचार में डूबे रहते कि इस गवार गोपियों ने नावेद पढ़ाना हुई या क्योंकि आना तपस्या की फिर भी भगवान का आधार प्रेम इन्हें प्राप्त हुआ जो सिद्ध मोनी योगी ब्रह्मा शिवजी आदि महाप्रलय तक ध्यान कर के भी नहीं प्राप्त कर पाते हैं इस तरह गोपियों के बीच उन्हें बहुत दिन व्यतीत हो गए तब एक दिन उन्हें ध्यान आया कि अब मुझे मथुरा जाना चाहिए क्योंकि मुझे तुम सभी के बीच रहते हुए बहुत दिन व्यतीत हो गए तब गोपियां प्रभु श्री कृष्ण के विरह में व्याकुल होकर कहने लगी है उद्धव जी हमने दिया हमने अनजाने में तुमसे जो दूर बेवजह कहे उसके लिए क्षमा मांगती हूं हम भी क्या कर सकते थे आप हमें निर्गुण ब्रह्म की उपासना करने की शिक्षा दे रहे थे और हम सभी वहां नहीं कर सकती थी क्योंकि हमारे पास एक ही हृदय था वह भी श्याम के कारण चला गया फिर हम किस प्रकार आपके निर्गुण ब्रह्म की उपासना करती है उधो मन न भए दस बीस 18 सो श्याम संग गयो क आओ राधे यह सब उधर मन न भए दस बीस तब उद्धव जी कहने लगे हेमराज वला हूं अब मुझे और अत्यधिक लज्जित ना करो और उनके लिए कुछ संदेश देना हो तो कहो तब वह कहने लगी है उद्धव जी क्यों नहीं हमारे लिए ज्ञान वैराग्य दिल्ली भेजा था वह हमारे किसी काम का नहीं तुम जाकर हमारे प्राण प्यारे से कहना कि कब वृंदावन आ रहे हैं कुंज बिहारी की कुंज गलियां उनकी प्रतीक्षा कर रही है तत्पश्चात जी नंद राय के पास गए यहां जाकर उद्धव जी वापस मथुरा जा रहे हैं वे कहने लगे हमारे कन्हैया से कहना कि उनके बिना सब ब्रजवासी रोते हैं तुम्हारे बाबा हर घड़ी तुम्हारे आने का मार्ग देखते हैं तब यशोदा जी रोती हुई कहने लगी है उद्धव तुम देव की बहन से जाकर कहना कि मेरे लाल श्री कृष्णा को शीघ्र भेज दे माय उनके बिना बहुत व्याकुल रहती हूं तत्पश्चात मेरे पुत्रों से कहना कि तुम्हारी मैया तुम्हारे लिए दिन रात होती है और माखन रोटी का कालेवालय कर प्रतीक्षा करती है उनसे कहना कि तुम्हारे बिना ब्रज की गाय पशु पक्षी सभी रोते हैं अतः शीघ्र आकर दर्शन दो यह कह कर यशोदा बिलक बिलक कर रोने लगी तब धवजी में बहुत तरस यशोदा को समझा कर धीरज बंधाया और रोशनी को अपने संग लेकर मथुरा को चल दिए यशोदा ने उद्धव को जाते समय श्री कृष्णा तथा बलराम के लिए दही मक्खन आदि देकर कहा इसे ले जाकर मेरे पुत्रों को देखकर कहना कि इसे तुम्हारी मैया ने तुम्हारे लिए दिया है इस प्रकार का कर उन्हें विदा किया यह परीक्षित रोशनी को संग लेकर उद्धव जी जब मथुरा पहुंचे तब श्री कृष्णा जी बड़े प्रेम से उन्हें अपने निकट बैठाकर पूछने लगे हैं भैया उद्धव तुम बहुत दिन तक ब्रज में रहे नंद बाबा और यशोदा मैया से अवश्य भेद किए होंगे मेरे बाल सखा मुझसे बात की होंगे तब ब्रज की गोपियों से भेंट किए होंगे वह सब मुझे याद करते हैं अथवा भूल गए श्री कृष्ण जी के वचनों को सुनकर उद्धवजी की आंखों से आंसू बहने लगे हुए रोते हुए बोले हे प्रभु राज वासियों का तुम्हारे प्रति जो प्रेम देखा उसका वर्णन कर पाना बड़ा कठिन हाय यशोदा जी या विचार कर सदैव बताती है कि मैंने अपने लाल को कष्ट दिए इसी कारण मुझसे ग्रुप हो गए हैं नंद ज रोते हैं और गोपियों की दशा बड़ी विचित्र है तथा कार्य में यमुना स्नान करके लव धातु है दूर से मुझे देखकर श्री कृष्णा समझने लगे और दौड़ कर मेरे निकट आए दिन तुम मुझे देखकर उदास हो गए तब मैंने बताया कि श्री कृष्ण ने तुम्हारे लिए संदेश भेजा है यह जानकर अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर पूछने लगे कि उन्हें हमारे लिए क्या कहा है वह कब ब्रज भूमि पर आ रहे हैं हे प्रभु जब मैंने अपना आपका पत्र दिखला है तो उस पत्र को मेरे हाथ से छीन कर इस प्रकार कर दिए कि वह टुकड़ों में हो गया और पत्र का जो टुकड़ा जिस गोपी के हाथ आया वह उसी को क्यों ने लगी तब मैंने उन्हें ज्ञान योग्य का उपदेश किया तो वे संपूर्ण दोस्त कुब्जा को देने लगी मेरा संपूर्ण ज्ञान निरर्थक सिद्ध हुआ है भगवान उसकी प्रेम का रंग इस प्रकार मुझ पर चढ़ा कि मैं भी उसी रंग में रंग गया मेरा ज्ञान गर्भ नष्ट हो गया तत्पश्चात श्री कृष्ण जी ने पूछा है भैया उद्धव मैया ने मेरे लिए क्या भेजा है तब उद्धव जी ने उन्हें यशोदा द्वारा दिए गए सामग्री निकालकर उनके सम्मुख रख दिया हे राजन दूध दही मक्खन आदि देखकर त्रिलोकीनाथ अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और प्रेम पूर्वक दोनों भाई कृष्ण बलराम खाने लगे

The gopis stood surrounded by their work, when they came to know that Uddhav ji is staying at the house of our beloved Shri Krishna Chandra ji, then they started welcoming Uddhav ji with great affection and said to bring down our chittor Murli Manohar. We went to tell us but didn't come, we are maids of the mall without them, they drink day and night, wake up, food and water do not like anything, then they forgot us, are we gopis in Mathura, beautiful women who became under their control. The second gopi has started saying that Uddhav ji Kanhaiya ji is not a hypocrite and does not understand the pain of our mind, just as the bore seems to suck the pollen from the flowers, but after breaking you sit on other flowers, in the same way, why are we Shri Krishna Chandra? We have gone away with pleasure and have forgotten us. They leave the house of their host, in the same way after becoming a man of deliberation. The night abandons the women, no matter how much she loves ironing, O King Parikshit, the hour when the gopis were telling Uddhav ji the truth, at that very moment a horse came running and started kissing the moon on the face of that gopi.
