श्री शिव महापुराण कथा पहले स्कंद अध्याय 3

शिव गानों की बात सुनकर नाराज जी वहां से उठकर एक पानी से भरे तालाब के पास जा पहुंचे वहां जल के भीतर जब उन्होंने अपने मुख का प्रतिबिंब देखा तो उसे अत्यंत आश्चर्य हुआ आपने उसे मृत रूप को देखकर उन्हें अत्यधिक क्रोध हो आया और इस क्रोध में उन्होंने उन दोनों शिव गानों को श्राप दिया अरे मूर्ख तुमने हमारी बहुत अप्रतिष्ठा की है अतः तुम दोनों भी चली तथा पापी हो जाओ तुम अपने किए का फल पाव की जिससे फिर ऐसा नीच कर्म करने की तुम्हें हिम्मत ना पड़े नारद जी के मुख से इस शराब को सुनकर हुए दोनों गधा अत्यंत चिंता चतुर हो गए हो वहां से लौटकर अपने लोक में जा पहुंचे और शिव की स्तुति करने लगे इधर नारद जी भी कुछ देर बाद अपनी यथा दशा में आ गए परंतु उनके मन में यह विचार निरंतर चक्कर काटता रहा कि विष्णु द्वारा चल किए जाने के कारण ही मेरा यह अपमान हुआ है अतः यह तो मैं विष्णु को श्राप दूंगा नेता अपने प्राण त्याग दूंगा है ऋषियों या नीचे करना राज्य भगवान विष्णु के बिल्कुल धाम को चल दिए उसे समय नारद जी की इच्छा जानकर विष्णु भगवान ने उन्हें मार्ग में ही मिल गए विष्णु भगवान के साथ वहां कमियां भी थी जिसको उन्होंने स्वयंवर में प्राप्त किया था अस्तु विष्णु भगवान ने नारद को प्रणाम करते हुए हास्य पूर्ण शब्द में कहा हे नारद जी आप इस प्रकार चिंतित होकर कहां जा रहे हैं विष्णु के ऐसे वचन सुनकर नारद जी अत्यधिक क्रोधित हुए उन्हें क्रोध अवस्था में नारद जी के मुख में यह शब्द निकल ही विष्णु तुम इस समय हमको अच्छे मिले तुम बड़े चली हो तुम्हारा वह चल जो तुमने देती के पुत्रों के साथ मोहनी रूप धारण करके अमित को बांटने में किया था प्रसिद्ध है कि तुम ही ने छल से जलधार की स्त्रियों से उसका पति व्रत धर्म तुड़वाया सदाशिव ने भी तुमको वरदान देकर संपूर्ण सृष्टि का स्वामी बनाकर उचित नहीं किया है अब सदाशिव भी तुमको ऐसा ईश्वर दिन एवं संपूर्ण सृष्टि का स्वामी बनाकर अपने मन में चिंतित है अब हम सदा शिव की आज्ञा अनुसार ही तुमको तुम्हारे कर्मों का फल देते हैं जिससे कि तुम भविष्य में फिर ऐसा कोई काम ना करो यद्यपि तुमको सदा शिव ने वरदान दिया है तो भी हम तुमको केवल शिक्षा देने के लिए ही श्राप देते हैं नारद जी ने इतना कहकर विष्णु को या श्राप दिया है विष्णु तुमने जिसके समान हमारा मुख कर दिया था वही वानर तुम्हारी सहायता करेगा जिस स्त्री के लिए तुमने हमारा अपमान किया तुम भी इस स्त्री के वियोग से अत्यंत दुखी होकर 11 में घूमते फिरोगे विष्णु जी ने यह सुनकर नारद जी के चरणों पर अपना मस्तक रख दिया परंतु नाराज जी ने उन्हें क्षमा नहीं किया भगवान सदा शिव ने याद देखकर नाराज जी के मन में अपने माया हटा ली उसे समय ना तो नारद जी की ही वहां दशा रही और ना ही कोई स्त्री ही दिखाई दी तब नारद जी ने आश्चर्यचकित होकर खेत प्रगति करते हुए कहा कहां कहीं जा सकता है कि यह सब वृतांत सत्य है या मैं इस स्वप्न में देखा है फिर आपकी माया अपरंपार है जिससे हम जैसे बुद्धिमान भी भ्रमित हो जाते हैं कहते हुए नाराज जी विष्णु जी के चरणों पर गिरते हुए बोले हैं नारायण आप मेरे सब का दनदन कर दीजिए तथा जो कठोर शब्द मैंने कहे हैं उसका महा पाप के लिए मुझे क्षमा कर दीजिए यह सुनकर विष्णु जी ने कहा है नारा तुमने सदा शिव के वचनों को जो भाव किया है वह सब उसकी का फल मिला है आप भी उचित है कि तुमने चैतन्य होकर सदाशिव को महान समझो वही तीन स्वरूप धारण करके तीनों कार्य द्वारा संपूर्ण सृष्टि का संचालन करते हैं वह स्वयं प्रलय के स्वामी है मैं केवल सदाशिव के ताप के कारण ही सबसे बड़ा गिना जाता है हे नाथ तुम उन्हें सदा शिव की तपस्या करो क्योंकि उसकी आराधना और तपस्या के बिना कोई भी परम पद प्राप्त नहीं किया जा सकता है अब तुम्हें उचित है कि सब कुछ त्याग कर सदा शिव का भजन करो एवं उसकी सतनामों का जाप करो वही ही मेरी शक्ति है तुम हृदय में शिव जी के चरणों का ध्यान रखकर देश आयतन करो जिसे तुम्हें दुख ना होगा तुम्हारे लिए यही उचित है कि समस्त भूमंडल पर भगवान सदाशिव की महिमा देखते हुए काशी जी को सुधारो उसे रूद्र क्षेत्र वाराणसी मुक्त क्षेत्र तथा मा श्रम सनी भूमि भी कहते हैं इतना कहकर विष्णु जी अंतर ध्यान हो गए और नाराज जी सदाशिव जी के पास चल दिए मार्ग में वे दोनों घर मिले और वह भी नारद के चरण में गिर कर क्षमा याचना करते हुए बोले ही ऋषिराज हम ब्राह्मण नहीं अपितु सदा शिव के गण है हमने आपका बहुत बड़ा अपमान किया है इसलिए हमें आप दास समझकर कृपा करें क्योंकि हम अपने कर्मों का फल प्राप्त कर चुके हैं नारद जी नया सुनकर खेत प्रगति करते हुए कहा मेरी बुद्धि भ्रष्ट हो गई थी सदाशिव की माया परंपरा है मैंने जो कुछ कहा है है शिव गानों वह होकर ही रहेगा परंतु मैं तुम्हें यह व देता हूं कि तुम दोनों भाई मुनि के वीर्य एवं राक्षसी के गर्व से उत्पन्न होंगे तथा बहुत प्रतापी होंगे संपूर्ण सृष्टि पर विजय प्राप्त करोगे तथा अनेक प्रकार के भोग भोग कर भी सदाशिव की भक्ति से अचित ना होगी अंत में वानर और मनुष्य द्वारा तुम मुक्ति प्राप्त करोगे इतना कह कर नारद जी पहले सदाशिव के पास तथा फिर ब्रह्मा के पास गए और वहां दोनों हाथ जोड़ स्थिति करते हुए बोले ही पिता अपने विष्णु जी की जो कथा मुझे कही थी उसमें भक्ति वैराग्य तप दान की रीति तथा तीर्थ आदि का वर्णन है वह तो मैंने सुनी परंतु मैं सदाशिव की भक्ति से अपनी अंजूरित हूं इसलिए कृपया कर मुझे कम से बताएं कि सदा शिव आदि मध्य तथा अंत में क्यों रहते हैं और कैसे प्रसन्न होते हैं हुए निर्गुण होकर भी सद्गुण कैसे हो जाते हैं आप अपनी तथा विष्णु जी की उत्पत्ति के ऊपर भी प्रकाश डालिए शिव और पार्वती के जितने भी चरित्र हो कृपा कर उन पर भी प्रकाश डालिए जिससे मुझे और आपको भी प्रसन्नता प्राप्त हो

Oh fool, you have dishonored us a lot, so both of you should also go and become sinners. May you reap the consequences of your actions so that you may not have the courage to do such despicable deeds again. This wine will come from the mouth of Narad ji. Hearing this, both the donkeys became very worried and clever, returned from there to their world and started praising Shiva. Meanwhile Narad ji also came back to his normal condition after some time but this thought kept revolving in his mind that Vishnu I have been insulted only because of being followed by Lord Vishnu, hence I will curse Vishnu, the leader, I will give up my life, the sages or will bring down the kingdom, I will go to the very abode of Lord Vishnu. Knowing the wish of Narad ji, Lord Vishnu told him at that time. Lord Vishnu met him on the way, there were also shortcomings which he had achieved in Swayamvar, hence Lord Vishnu, while saluting Narad, said in humorous words, O Narad ji, where are you going with such worries, such words of Vishnu. Hearing this, Narad ji became extremely angry. In his state of anger, these words came out of Narad ji's mouth - Vishnu, you have found us good at this time, you have done well, you have done the same thing that you did in dividing Amit by assuming the form of Mohini with the sons of Deti. It is famous that you are the one who cheated the women of Jaldhar and made her husband break his fast and Sadashiv has also not done right by giving you a boon and making you the master of the entire creation. Now Sadashiv is also worried in his mind by making you such a god and the master of the entire creation. Now we always give you the fruits of your deeds as per the orders of Shiva so that you do not do any such thing again in the future. Although Shiva has always given you a boon, still we curse you only to give you education, Narad ji. Having said this, have you cursed Vishnu? O Vishnu, the same monkey whom you had made us like will help you. The woman for whom you insulted us, you will also be extremely sad due to the separation of this woman and will roam around in 11. Hearing this, Lord Vishnu said to Narada. He placed his head at the feet of Narada ji but Narada ji did not forgive him. Lord Shiva, seeing the memory, removed his illusion from the mind of Narada ji. At that time, neither Narada ji was in the same condition nor any woman was seen there. Then Narad ji was surprised and said while progressing in the field, where can one go that all this story is true or I have seen it in this dream, then your illusion is limitless due to which even intelligent people like us get confused, angry ji said, Lord Vishnu. Falling at his feet, he said, Narayan, please forgive me for all my sins and forgive me for the great sin of the harsh words I have spoken. Hearing this, Vishnu ji said, 'Nara, whatever meaning you have always given to the words of Shiva, all that. You too have got the fruits of his action. It is appropriate that you consider Sadashiv great by being conscious. He takes three forms and controls the entire creation through all three tasks. He himself is the master of destruction. I am considered the greatest only because of the heat of Sadashiv. Oh Lord, you should always do penance to Shiva because without his worship and penance no supreme position can be attained. Now it is appropriate for you to leave everything and always worship Shiva and chant his Satnaam, that is my power. You should keep the feet of Lord Shiva in your heart and expand the country, which will not hurt you. It is right for you to see the glory of Lord Sadashiv on the entire earth and improve Kashi ji, Rudra area, Varanasi free area and also the land filled with labor. It is said that after saying this, Vishnu ji went into inner meditation and angry ji went towards Sadashiv ji. On the way, both of them met home and he also fell at the feet of Narad and apologized and said, Rishiraj, we are not Brahmins but always belong to Shiva. We have insulted you a lot, so please consider us as your slaves because we have received the fruits of our deeds. Narad ji heard this while making progress in the field and said, "My mind has become corrupt. It is the Maya tradition of Sadashiv. Whatever I have said is true." Shiva songs, that will always happen but I promise you that both of you brothers will be born from the semen of a sage and the pride of a demon and will be very glorious, you will conquer the entire creation and even after enjoying many types of pleasures, you will remain unperturbed by the devotion of Sadashiv. It will not happen, in the end you will attain salvation through monkeys and humans. Having said this, Narad ji first went to Sadashiv and then to Brahma and there with folded hands he said, "Father, in the story that my Vishnu ji had told me, devotion and dispassion" I have heard the description of the ritual of penance and pilgrimage etc. but I am committed to the devotion of Sadashiv, so please tell me at least why Shiva etc. always remain in the middle and the end and how do they become happy despite being devoid of qualities. How do virtues arise? Please throw light on your origin and that of Lord Vishnu. Please throw light on all the characters of Shiva and Parvati so that I and you too can be happy.
