श्री शिव महापुराण कथा पहला स्कंध अध्याय 8

ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद मेरे तथा विष्णु द्वारा की गई स्तुति को सुनकर भगवान सदा शिव ने मुस्कुराते हुए इस प्रकार कहा है ब्राह्मण तथा है विष्णु तुमने हमारी माया के मुंह में पकड़ कर परस्पर युद्ध किया और अंत में हमने तुम दोनों को अपना भक्त जानकर अपना लिंग स्वरूप प्रकट किया जिससे तुम दोनों में कोई नहीं पहचान सका आप तुम्हें यह उचित है की पारस्परिक विरोध भाव को त्याग कर तुम दोनों ही अहंकार को नष्ट कर दो और वह कार्य करो जिसकी हम तुम्हें आज्ञा देते हैं हे नारद इतना कह कर भगवान सदा शिव ने सुहास के मार्ग द्वारा मुझे संपूर्ण वेद पढ़ा दिया टाङू प्रांत हुए पांच मंत्र भी बताएं जिसमें संपूर्ण विद्या अमृत है उन्हें सर्वप्रथम प्राण की शिक्षा दी जिसके अक्षर वेद कहलाते हैं शिवजी का सर्वप्रथम वाक्य वही है का दो प्रांत उन्होंने 24 अक्षरों से युक्त वेदों की माता गायत्री का उपदेश दिया फिर महामृत्युंजय मंत्र की शिक्षा देने के उपरांत उसे चिंतामणि मंत्र को सिखाया जो भक्तों को महान सुख देता है उसे हुए तथा मित्रों को पढ़कर हमें अत्यंत प्रसन्नता प्राप्त हुई उसे समय मैं तथा विष्णु जी कृतज्ञता भरी दृष्टि से उन महेश्वर भगवान की ओर देखने लगे और दर्शन के उसे आनंद में अचूर निगमन हो गए उन परम प्रभु के दर्शन से हमें जो सुख प्राप्त हुआ उसका वर्णन किसी भी प्रकार से नहीं किया जा सकता हमारे ही अन्य प्रेम को देखकर भगवान महेश्वर को भी बहुत प्रसन्नता हुई तब उन्होंने मुझे यह कहा है ब्राह्मण तुम धन्य हो जो तुम्हें मेरी कृपा से संपूर्ण सृष्टि का स्वामी होने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ अब तुम मेरी आज्ञा स्वीकार कर सृष्टि करो तुमसे यह कहकर फिर हुए विष्णु की ओर देखते हुए बोले हैं विष्णु तुम सृष्टि का पालन करने के अधिकारी हूं तुम हमें वेद का स्वरूप जानू आयुर्वेद में जो कुछ लिखा है उसे हमारी आज्ञा मानकर स्वीकार करो हे नारद भगवान त्रिशूल प्राणी की आज्ञा सुनकर हम दोनों ने उनसे प्रार्थना करते हुए कहा है प्रभु हमें आपकी आज्ञा स्वीकार है परंतु हम यह जानते हैं कि आप स्वयं भी कोई अवतार ग्रहण कर हमारी सहायता करते रहे तीनों लोकों का पालन करने के पश्चात अंत अर्थात पर ले का अधिकार आप अपने पास रखें हमारा यही मनोरथ है इतना कहा कर हम दोनों मौन हो गए ता दो प्रांत उसकी मौन इस सुकृति प्रकार हमें यह बात कही है प्रभु अब आप सर्वप्रथम हमें यह बताएं कि हम किसी रीति के अनुसार आपका पूजन करें या सुनकर भगवान भूत भावना ने उत्तर दिया है ब्रह्मा तथा विष्णु हमें संसार में तुमसे अधिक प्रिय अन्य कोई ना होगा आप तुम दोनों संपूर्ण चिंता तथा अशोक को त्याग कर शिवपूर्वक अपना कार्य करो तथा उसे कार्य द्वारा अन्य लोगों को भी सुख पहुंचाओ हमने तुम्हें कुछ देर पूर्व जो अपना लिंग स्वरूप दिखाया था उसका पूजन कर सर्वप्रथम योग्य है उसी के पूजन से सुख की प्राप्ति होती है उसे लिंग की उत्पत्ति का भेद दिया है की संपूर्ण संसार जिस क्षेत्र में लीन हुआ है उसी को लिंग कहते हैं हस्तु ऐसे लिंग के पूजन से इस लोक तथा परलोक में सुख प्राप्ति होती है लिंग के पूजन की महिमा अनंत है तुमने जो हमारे अवतार ग्रहण करने की प्रार्थना की है उसके संबंध मैं यह जान को की समय आने पर हम स्वयं ही प्रगति होकर आएंगे हमारे उसे अवतार का नाम रूद्र होग हम चारों अर्थात ब्रह्मा विष्णु शिव और शक्ति एक ही स्वरुप है जो व्यक्ति हम में किसी प्रकार का भेद समझेगा उसे बहुत दुख उठाना पड़ेगा इतना कह कर भगवान सदा शिव ने एक बड़े गुप्त भेद को प्रकट करते हुए मुझे यह कहा यह भेद वेद में भी अधिक गुप्त है अर्थात हम सगुण रूप में शिव और शक्ति दोनों नाम से प्रकट होते हैं तथा तीनों गुना द्वारा ब्रह्मा विष्णु एवं शिव नमक देवताओं के रूप में अलग-अलग प्रगट होते हैं किसी कप में पहले विष्णु फिर ब्रह्मा का दो प्रांत रुद्र की उत्पत्ति होती है तो किसी कप में पहले शिव फिर विष्णु और तत्पश्चात ब्रह्मा की उत्पत्ति होती है इस प्रकार तुम दोनों शक्ति के चिन्ह से रजोगुण एवं सातों गन का ग्रहण करते हो हर अर्थात महादेव हमारे ही हमसे उत्पन्न होकर हमारे ही तपो गुड्डी स्वरूप है इसके अधीन प्रलय कार्य रहता है वस्तु जिस प्रकार हम तपो गुनी रुद्र का स्वरूप धारण कर प्रगति होंगे वह सब हमने तुम्हें बता दिया तुम दोनों श्याम एवं लाल वन का स्वरूप धारण किए हुए जो अंत हमें श्वेत रूप धारण करेगा तुम दोनों पर तमोगुण का प्रभाव न होगा परंतु हमें रूद्र स्वरूप की यह स्थिति होगी कि वह तमोगुण से युक्त होने पर भी दिन-रात पवित्र योग में मैग्ना रहेगा हे नारद मुझे यह आजा देकर भगवान सदा शिव ने विष्णु जी की ओर देखते हुए कहा है विष्णु तुम संपूर्ण जीवन की भली प्रकार पालन करो हमारे दाहिने ओर से ब्रह्मा बाईं ओर से विष्णु तथा हृदय से रुद्रा की उत्पत्ति होगी हमारी शक्ति जो उमा है वह भी दो अंशु में प्रगति होंगे जिससे तुम अलग-अलग नहीं समझ जाओग पहले आम से हुई लक्ष्मी स्वरूप होकर तुम्हें प्राप्त होगी और दूसरे अंत से सारा होकर ब्रह्मा को प्राप्ति होगी उसके उमा स्वरूप को हार स्वीकार करेगा उसे समय संसार में उनका नाम सती प्रसिद्ध हो होगा इस प्रकार ब्रह्मा विष्णु तथा हर यह तीनों देवता अपनी शक्तियों के साथ रहकर वेद का पूजन करेंगे अस्तु तुम दोनों को उचित है कि तुम हमारी उसे आज्ञा का अनुसरण करो ब्रह्मा का एक दिन सहस्त्र चतुर योगी का होगा इस प्रकार की एक 100 वर्ष वायु ब्रह्मा की होगी ब्रह्मा की संपूर्ण आयु का समय विष्णु के आधे दिन के बराबर होगा और विष्णु के संपूर्ण आयु का समय हर कहा एक दिन होगा ऐसा एक दिन व्यतीत हो जाने पर हमारा सत्गुण स्वरूप निर्गुण होकर पहले कर दिया करेगा इतना कहकर भगवान सदा शिव ने हम दोनों के मस्तक पर अपने दोनों हाथ रखे इस प्रकार उपदेश तथा शिक्षा देकर जब भगवान शिव अंतर्ध्यान हो गए तब हम दोनों शौक से व्याकुल हो हाथ जोड़कर शिव शिव कहते हुए जी और वह गुप्त हुए थे उसी और मुंह किए बारंबार दंडवत करते रहेंगे

Lord Brahma said, O Narad, after listening to the praises made by me and Vishnu, Lord Shiva always smiled and said thus, you are Brahmin and Vishnu, you caught hold of our Maya in the mouth and fought with each other and in the end we accepted both of you as our devotees. You revealed your gender form so that neither of you could recognize it. It is appropriate for you both to give up mutual antagonism and destroy the ego of both of you and do the work that we order you, O Narad. Having said this, God always Shiva taught me the entire Veda through the path of Suhas. Also tell me the five mantras which contain the nectar of complete knowledge. He first taught me about life whose letters are called Vedas. The first sentence of Lord Shiva is that of two provinces. He taught the Vedas consisting of 24 letters. Gave the sermon of Mata Gayatri and then after teaching the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, taught him the Chintamani Mantra which gives great happiness to the devotees. We got immense pleasure after reading it to him and our friends. At that time, I and Lord Vishnu, with gratitude towards that Maheshwar Lord, We started looking towards him and got completely absorbed in the joy of seeing him. The happiness that we got from the darshan of that Supreme Lord cannot be described in any way. Lord Maheshwar was also very happy after seeing our other love, then he told me It has been said, Brahmin, you are blessed that by my grace you have got the privilege of being the master of the entire creation. Now you accept my order and create the creation. Having said this to you, he then looked towards Vishnu and said, Vishnu has the right to take care of the creation. You should know us the nature of the Vedas, whatever is written in Ayurveda, accept it as our command, O Lord Narad, after listening to the command of the trident creature, we both prayed to him and said, Lord, we accept your command, but we know that you yourself also Take any incarnation and keep helping us. After following the three worlds, you keep the right to reach the end i.e., this is our wish. Having said this, both of us became silent and his silence in two provinces has told us this as a blessing. Lord, now first of all you tell us whether we should worship you according to any method or after listening to this Lord the ghostly spirit has replied Brahma and Vishnu, there will be no one more dear to us than you in the world, both of you have given up all worries and Ashoka and dedicated yourself to Shiva. Work and through that work, bring happiness to other people too. We had shown you some time back that by worshiping the form of your penis, the one who is worthy of being the first to attain happiness, has given the secret of the origin of the penis, that the whole world in which One who is absorbed in the field is called Linga. By worshiping such a Linga, one gets happiness in this world and the next world. The glory of worshiping Linga is infinite. Regarding the request that you have made for us to take incarnation, I am telling you about the time. When we come, we will progress ourselves and the name of our incarnation will be Rudra. All four of us, i.e. Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and Shakti, are the same form. The person who thinks of any kind of difference between us will have to suffer a lot. Having said this, Lord Shiva has given a big While revealing the secret secret, I was told that this secret is also more secret in the Vedas, that is, we are manifested in the Saguna form by both the names of Shiva and Shakti and through the three gunas, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are manifested separately in the form of salt deities. In some cup first Vishnu then Brahma's two provinces Rudra is born and in some cup first Shiva then Vishnu and then Brahma are born. In this way both of you receive Rajogun and seven gunas from the sign of Shakti. Har means Mahadev is our Being born from us, we are in the form of Tapo Guddi, under it, the work of destruction is going on, the way we will progress by taking the form of Tapo Guni Rudra, we have told you all that, both of you are taking the form of Shyam and Red forest, which in the end will make us white. He will take the form of Tamoguna, there will be no effect of Tamoguna on both of you, but we will have the condition of Rudra form that despite being full of Tamoguna, he will remain magna in sacred yoga day and night. O Narad, by giving me this gift, Lord Shiva always looked towards Vishnu ji. It has been said that Vishnu, you should follow the whole life properly, Brahma will be born from our right side, Vishnu will be born from the left side and Rudra will be born from our heart. Our power which is Uma will also progress in two parts so that you will not understand them separately, first common. From the beginning, you will get it in the form of Lakshmi and from the other end, Brahma will get it in the form of Sara, his Uma form will accept defeat, at that time his name Sati will become famous in the world. In this way, Brahma Vishnu and all these three gods living with their powers will get the Vedas. Therefore, it is right for both of you that you follow our orders, one day of Brahma will be of 1000 clever yogis, in this way, 100 years of Vayu will be of Brahma, the time of the entire life of Brahma will be equal to half the day of Vishnu and During the entire life of Vishnu, there will always be one day. After the passage of one such day, our form of good qualities will be reduced to the first. Having said this, Lord Shiva placed both his hands on the forehead of both of us, thus giving sermons and teachings, when Lord Shiva When Shiva disappeared, both of us were distraught with passion, folded our hands and said 'Shiv Shiv' and he had disappeared and would continue to do obeisance again and again with our faces towards him.
