श्री शिव महापुराण कथा द्वितीय खंड अध्याय 27

ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद उसे समय यज्ञशाला में जो अपशगुन हुए आप में उनका वर्णन करता हूं आकाश से पिसी हुई हड्डियों की वर्षा होने लगी तथा ऐसे आचार्य जनक बातें दिखाई देने लगे जिसके कारण कर्म तथा धर्म का विचार शेष न रहा तीनों प्रकार का दुख सब लोगों को दुखी करने लगे दार के मारे उनके मुख से कोई शब्द नहीं निकला था सबके शरीर तर-तर काटने लगे उसे समय यज्ञ करने वाले दक्ष प्रजापति तथा यज्ञ करने वाले ब्रिंग ऋषि की आंखें उत और दिशा की ओर उठ गई तो उन्होंने देखा कि उधर से भारी धूल के उड़ने का कारण क्या है परंतु कोई ठीक बात उनकी समझ में नहीं आई सभा में उपस्थित सभी लोग आश्चर्य में भरकर एक दूसरे से अनेक प्रकार की बातें करने लगे हे पुत्र उसे समय दक्ष की पत्नी विरानी ने सब लोगों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा है सभासदों तुमने मुर्ख बनाकर सती का अनादर किया और उन्हें भस्म होने से नहीं रोक दक्ष प्रजापति ने शिवजी का घोर अपमान किया है और सती की बहनों के सामने ही सटीक का भी तिरस्कार किया है यह सब उपग्रह उसी के प्रतिफल है शिवजी का शत्रु कभी भी आनंद नहीं पा सकता वह कुछ समय के लिए अपने मन को प्रसन्न कर ले परंतु अंत में उसे नरगामी होना पड़ता है अस्तु तुम लोगों को अपने किए हुए पाप का फल अवश्य मिलेगा बिरयानी के इस शब्दों को सुनकर सभी देवता तथा मुनियों को अंतत भाई लगा दक्ष भी भयभीत होकर विष्णु जी के पास पहुंचकर इस प्रकार कहने लगा है विष्णु आप यज्ञ रूप यज्ञ रक्षा तथा यज्ञ के कर्म स्वरूप है आपका कार्य भक्तों की रक्षा करना है वस्तु आप मुझे इस भाई से छुड़ाएं और अपनी कृपा द्वारा यज्ञ को नष्ट होने से बचाए आप सच्चे स्वामी है यह सुनकर विष्णु जी ने हंसते हुए कहा है दक्ष जहां तक संभव होगा हम तुम्हारी रक्षा करेंगे परंतु तुमने शिवजी से सैटरडे स्थापित कर स्वयं ही संकट का वहां कर लिया है तुमने पहले करता एवं जगत स्वामी शिव जी के साथ बेर करके अच्छा नहीं किया आप तुम्हें कौन पर लगा सकता है हम स्वयं तथा अन्य सभी देवता गण भगवान की आज्ञा रूपी राज्यों से बंधे हुए हैं संसार में उनके सामान बलवान अन्य कोई नहीं है कोई शास्त्रों उपाय भी क्यों ना करें परंतु शिवजी की कृपा के बिना किसी को कम का फल नहीं मिलता जिस स्थान पर पूजा करने योग्य शिव जी की पूजा नहीं की जाती वहां कोई भी कार्य सिद्ध नहीं होता जो देवता पूजा करने योग्य नहीं है उसकी पूजा करने से दरिद्रता मृत्यु तथा भाई यह तीनों उपद्रव उत्पन्न होते हैं है नाराज विष्णु के मुख से इन शब्दों को सुनकर दक्ष अत्यंत चिंतित और महा दुखी हुआ अन्य सब लोग भी भाई के मारे कांपने लगे और इस प्रकार कहने लगे कि आप हमारी रक्षा किसी भी प्रकार नहीं हो सकती जिस समय सभी सभा सदस्य आपस में एक दूसरे का मुंह देखते हुए चिंतन मग्न हो रहे थे उसी समय वीरभद्र अपने सी सहित यज्ञ स्थल में जा पहुंचे और बड़े चोर का शब्द करने लगे भैरव तथा कलिंगा आदि भी अपनी सुना सहित वहां पहुंच गई उसे समय वीरभद्र का यह स्वरूप था कि उनके पांच मुख तीन नेत्र तथा 10 हफ्ते हुए अपने मस्तक पर जटाओं को धारण किए थे तथा उनके ललाट का आंध्र चंद्र सुशोभित हो रहा था वह रुद्र की माला पहने शरीर में भस्म लगाए बल पर सवार थे उनके सभी अग्रज के समान अत्यंत कठोर थे वह अपनी अत्यंत सुंदर हाथों में अनेक प्रकार के शस्त्र लिए जवाहर छात्र धारण किए शिव शिव शब्द का उच्चारण करते हुए परम विचित्र स्वरूप से भली भांति अलंकृत थे जिस रात पर हुए अपने नदी सहित अरुण थे वह 25 योजन ऊंचा था और उसे रात को 10 लाख से खींच रहे थे सरदूल तथा हाथी चारों ओर से उसे रात की रक्षा में निर्मित चैतन्य खड़े हुए थे उनकी सेवा में आते ही चारों ओर से धावा करना आरंभ कर दिया अनेक प्रकार की युद्ध के बजे मेरे शंकर पाठ गोमुख सिंह ओपन मृदा आदि पढ़ने लगे उसे समय इंद्र वायु यमराज कुबेर वरुण अग्नि तथा दिगपाल अपने अपने वाहनों पर सवार हो होकर दक्ष के सम्मुख जा पहुंचे दक्ष ने उन सब से कहा हैडिपलों मैं इस यज्ञ को केवल तुम्हारे ही बल पर किया था अतः तुम सब मेरी रक्षा और सहायता करो इस प्रकार शब्द देवताओं से खाने के उपरांत दक्ष प्रजापति ने विष्णु जी के चरणों पर अपने मस्तक को रखते हुए कहा हे प्रभु आप संसार के रक्षक एवं शुभकामनाओं के साक्षी है उसकी कृपा से संसार का पालन होता है अतः आपको मेरी याद किया की रक्षा करनी चाहिए यह सुनकर विष्णु जी ने उत्तर दिया है दक्ष जहां तक हमारा अधिकार है और वहां तक हमें सकती है वह वहां तक हम तुम्हारे यज्ञ की रक्षा अवश्य करेंगे परंतु तुम्हारे कर्मों का स्मरण कर हमारी बुद्धि को आश्चर्य होता है ब्रह्म स्वरूप शिव जी ने क्रोध से भर से तुम्हारी कौन सा रक्षा कर सकता है वस्तु उसे शिव नामधारी ईश्वर से विरोध कर कभी हित साधन नहीं हो सकता हुए शिवजी तीनों गुना से युक्त होने पर भी परम पवित्र है आता है उचित है कि तुम उन्हें शिवजी की सारण में जो जिससे तुम्हारा यह यज्ञ संपन्न हो सके इस प्रकार दक्ष और विष्णु ने बातें हो रही थी कि वीरभद्र की सेवा चारों ओर इस प्रकार गिर आई मानो कोई समुद्र गिर कर आकाश की ओर बढ़ रहा हो उसे सेवा के सेनापतियों में दक्ष तथा विष्णु जी को ब्रह्म ज्ञान हुआ ज्ञान की बातें करते हुए सुनते हुए सब हंस पड़े उसे समय गानों को युद्ध करने के लिए उधम देख इंद्र ने अपना बज उठा लिया और यह इच्छा कि मैं शिव गानों से युद्ध करूं इंद्र युद्ध करने के लिए सामने आए शिवजी के गढ़ हर हर का घोष करते हुए उनके समझ जा पहुंचे

All three types of sorrows started making everyone sad. Due to the fear, no words came out of their mouths. Everyone's body started tingling. At that time, Daksh Prajapati, who was conducting the yagna, and Bring Rishi, who was conducting the yagna, looked in the north and saw the reason for the heavy dust flying from there, but they could not understand anything right. All the people present in the assembly were surprised and started talking to each other in many ways. O son, at that time, Daksh's wife Virani addressed everyone and said, O members of the assembly, you have disrespected Sati by making her a fool and did not stop her from being burnt. Daksh Prajapati has insulted Lord Shiva and has also insulted Satik in front of Sati's sisters. All these troubles are the result of that. The enemy of Lord Shiva can never be happy. He should make his mind happy for some time. But in the end he has to die. So you people will definitely get the result of your sins. Hearing these words of Biryani, all the gods and sages felt ashamed. Daksh also got scared and went to Vishnu ji and said, Vishnu you are the form of yagya, protection of yagya and the form of yagya's karma. Your work is to protect the devotees. You free me from this brother and save the yagya from being destroyed by your grace. You are the true master. Hearing this, Vishnu ji laughingly said, Daksh, we will protect you as far as possible, but you have yourself brought trouble upon yourself by establishing Saturday with Shiv ji. You did not do well by first making a rift with the creator and the lord of the world, Shiv ji. Who can stop you? We ourselves and all other gods are bound by the kingdoms of God's orders. There is no one else as strong as him in the world. No matter what scriptures or remedies are used, but without Shiv ji's grace, no one gets the result of work. At the place where Shiv ji, who is worthy of worship, is not worshipped, no work is accomplished there. By worshipping the god who is not worthy of worship, poverty, death and brotherhood, these three troubles arise. On hearing these words from the mouth of the angry Vishnu, Daksh became very worried and very sad. All the other people also started trembling for their brother and started saying that you cannot protect us in any way. At the time when all the members of the assembly were looking at each other's faces and were lost in thoughts, at the same time Veerbhadra reached the place of sacrifice with his army and started shouting that he is a big thief. Bhairav ​​and Kalinga etc. also reached there with their army. At that time Veerbhadra's form was such that he had five faces, three eyes, ten hairs on his head and matted hair was adorned on his forehead. He was wearing Rudra's garland and had ashes on his body and was riding on Bal. He was very tough like all his elders. He had many types of weapons in his very beautiful hands, wore Jawahar Chatra, uttering the word Shiv Shiv, he was well decorated with a very strange form. The boat on which Arun was with his river was 25 yojanas high and was being pulled at night by 10 lakh Sardools and elephants. Chaitanya was standing from all sides to protect him. As soon as he came, he started attacking from all sides. Many types of war bugles started reciting the Shankar Paath, Gomukh Singh, Open Soil etc. At that time Indra, Vayu, Yamraj, Kuber, Varun, Agni and Digpal, riding on their vehicles, reached in front of Daksha. Daksha said to all of them, Hadipals, I had performed this yagya only due to your strength, so all of you please protect and help me. After saying these words to the gods, Daksha Prajapati, keeping his head on the feet of Vishnu ji, said, O Lord, you are the protector of the world and the witness of good wishes. The world is sustained by its grace, so you should protect me. Hearing this, Vishnu ji replied, Daksha, as far as we have the right and as far as we can, we will definitely protect your yagya, but remembering your deeds, our mind is surprised. Brahma Swaroop Ji, filled with anger, said, who can protect you? He can never be beneficial by opposing the God named Shiva. Shiva ji, despite being endowed with all the three Gunas, is extremely pure. It is appropriate that you take him under the shelter of Shiva ji, from whom this yagya of yours will be performed. Daksh and Vishnu were talking in this way that Veerbhadra's army fell all around as if an ocean was falling and rising towards the sky. Daksh and Vishnu ji, the commanders of his army, got the Brahma knowledge. Listening to the talks of knowledge, everyone laughed. Seeing the zeal of Shiva to fight, Indra picked up his trumpet and with the desire that he should fight with Shiva, Indra came in front to fight the war. Chanting Har Har, he reached Shivaji's fort.
