श्री महा भागवत देवी पुराण अध्याय 34

प्रभु हम लोग देवाधि देव शिव के द्वारा भेजे गए प्रथम गण है हम शिव को अपमानित करने वाले इस महायज्ञ को नष्ट कर रहे हैं इसी बीच प्रताप शैली वीरभद्र ने क्रोध में आकर प्रथम गणों से कहा शिव के प्रति द्वेष भाव रखने वाला वह दुराचारी दक्ष कहां है और अभी ग्रहण करने वाले देवगन कहां है यह सभी को पकड़ कर मेरे सामने ले आओ इस प्रकार आदेश पाकर प्रथम घर क्रोधित होकर दसों दिशाओं में दौड़ पड़े हुए क्रोध विभूति होकर सभी देवताओं को पकड़ पकड़ कर होने लगी कुछ गाना नहीं सूर्य को पकड़ कर उसे दांतों को चूर-चूर कर दिया और किसी गांड में आदमी तो एक देव को बलपूर्वक पड़कर उनके लिए काट ली किसी ने भाई के मारे जाते हुए अमृत रूप धारी यज्ञ पुरुष का सिर काट दिया और किसी ने देवी सरस्वती की नाक काट ली किसी गांड में आर्यमन की दोनों भुजाएं काट डालें और दूसरे गाने ऋषियों का वोट ही काट लिया इसी गाने या प्राइवेट वरुण देव को बात किया ब्राह्मणों को देखकर उन्हें विनय पूर्वक प्रणाम करके प्रथम गढ़वाली कहा भी प्रधान आप लोग आए का त्याग कर दीजिए और यहां से चले जाएंगे उसे सुनते ही सभी ब्राह्मण योग में प्रथम वस्त्र अलंकार आदि लेकर अपने अपने घर चले गए परम बुद्धिमान इंद्र ने मोर का रूप धारण कर लिया और उजाड़ कर पर्वत पर जाकर यह सब को चूहा कर देखने लगे इस प्रकार प्रथम गानों के द्वारा भाग दिए गए श्रेष्ठ देवताओं को देखकर नारायण विष्णु मोहन होकर मन ही मन सोचने लगे यह मुख थी दक्ष शिव से विदेश करते हुए यज्ञ कर रहा है तबियत्ती उसे वैसा फल नहीं मिलता तो वेद वचन ही निरर्थक हो जाता शिव के प्रति दक्ष का प्रवेश होने से निसंदेह मेरे प्रति भी उसका द्वेष भाव ही हुआ क्योंकि मैं ही शिव हूं और शिव ही विष्णु है इस प्रकार हम दोनों में कोई भेद नहीं है मैं दक्ष के द्वारा इस विष्णु रूप से विशेष रूप से प्राथमिक हूं और महादेव के रूप में निंदित भी माही हूं इसका भी दो प्रकार का भाव है यह कर्म तथा मन से दोनों तरह का भाव रखता है अतः मैं भी आप वही करूंगा मैं विष्णु रूप से रक्षा और शिव रूप से संघर्ष बनेगा इस प्रकार स्नेहित मिश्रित युद्ध करके और फिर उसमें पराजित होकर स्वयं रूद्र रूप से उसे दक्ष का सम्मान भी करूंगा इसमें संदेह नहीं इसके बाद में देवताओं को साथ लेकर यज्ञ पूर्ण करूंगा यह विष्णु जी की आराधना का फल कहा गया है इस प्रकार मन मे निश्चय करके सोंग्स चक्र तथा धारण करने वाला भगवान विष्णु ने प्रथम गानों को रोक दिया हार्वे सिंह नाथ करने लगे इसके बाद वीरभद्र में क्रोधित होकर क्षमता सनातन विष्णु से कहा विष्णु आप ही यज्ञ अधिपति हैं ऐसा स्तुति करती है इस महायज्ञ में शिव की निंदा करने वाला यह दुराचारी दक्ष कहां है उसे आप स्वयं लाकर मेरे हवाले कर दीजिए नहीं तो आप मेरे साथ भूत कीजिए प्राय विशिष्ट शिव भक्तों में आप एग्री हैं और आप ही शिव के प्रति द्वेष भाव रखने वाले हित के लिए तात्पर्य भी दिखाई दे रहे हैं तत्पश्चात विष्णु ने मुस्कुरा कर कहा मैं तुम्हारे साथ युद्ध करूंगा मुझे युद्ध में पराजित कर दक्ष को ले जाओ मैं भी तुम्हारा पराक्रम देखता हूं इतना कह कर विष्णु में धनुष उठाया और चारों और बड़ों का जाल फैला दिया उन बालों में क्षण भर की प्रथम गानों के सभी 8 छात्र विहित हो गए सैकड़ो रक्त का वह मन करने लगी और हजारों बेहोश हो गए उसके बाद उसे भी उपाध्याय ने भी विष्णु को लक्ष्य करके गड़ा चलाई और उसके शरीर स्पर्श करते ही उसे गधा से सैकड़ो खंड हो गए तब विष्णु ने भी रोक में आकर वीरभद्र की और गधा चलाई महामुनि वह गधा भी उसके पास आते ही इस तरह सो टुकड़ों में हो गई तदांतर क्रोध से तीर्थ नेत्रों वाले अंतरात्मा विष्णु ने क्षण भर में भी लव माय एक दूसरी कथा उठा ली तत्पश्चात खड़कवाद लेकर वीरभद्र ने उसे गदाधर विष्णु के बहू दंड पर प्रहार करके उनकी कथा भूमि पर गिरा दी इसे अत्यंत कुपित विष्णु ने अपने देश से प्रज्वलित भयंकर सुदर्शन चक्र को उसे वीरभद्र रखें ऊपर चला दिया उन्हें उसे देखकर वीरभद्र में भी मन में भगवान शिव का स्मरण किया उसे वीरभद्र के कंठ तक पहुंचा हुआ वह चक्र माला की भांति सुशोभित होने लगा तत्पश्चात युद्ध में भगवान विष्णु ने बहुत होकर सैकड़ो सूर्य की क्रांति वाला खड़क ले लिया और वह वीरभद्र को करने के लिए दौड़े तब विशाल भुजाओं वाले प्रतापी वीरभद्र उसकी छड अपने हुंकार मात्र से खड़क कथा उसे विष्णु दोनों को स्तंभ कर दिया उसके बाद क्रोध उम्मत वह वीरभद्र स्टार माफी हुई और विष्णु को करने के लिए सूट तथा मुंह को उठाकर उनकी ओर जाता इस बीच यह आकाशवाणी हुई वीरभद्र रुक जाओ युद्ध में इस तरह से क्रोध को प्राप्त होकर क्या तुम अपने को भूल गए हो जो विष्णु है वही महादेव है और जो शिव है हुए ही स्वयं विष्णु है इन दोनों में कभी-का भी कोई भी अंतर नहीं है या सुनकर महामति वीरभद्र ने शिव रूप विष्णु को नमस्कार कर दक्ष के केस पड़कर या वचन कहा प्रजापति तुमने जिस मुख से परम पुरुष देवर्षि शिव की निंदा की है तब मैं इस मुख पर प्रहार करता हूं ऐसा कह कर क्रोध से अत्यंत लाल नेत्रों वाले वीरभद्र ने दक्ष के मुख पर बार-बार प्रहार करके अपने नाग के अग्रभाग से उसे काट डाला साथी जो लोग महादेव जी की निंदा सुनकर हर्षित हुए प्रथम अधिपति वीरभद्र में उसकी भी जीव तथा कान काट डाले

Meanwhile, Pratap Shali Veerbhadra, in anger, asked the first Ganas, where is that wicked Daksha who has hatred towards Shiva, and where are the Devgans who are about to accept it. Catch all of them and bring them in front of me. On receiving this order, the first Ganas became angry and ran in all the ten directions. Filled with anger, they started catching all the gods. They caught hold of the Sun and crushed his teeth and forcibly bit a man in the ass and a god for him. Someone cut off the head of the Yagya Purush who had the form of nectar while his brother was being killed and someone cut off the nose of Goddess Saraswati. Someone cut off both the arms of Aryaman in the ass and in other songs, they cut off the votes of the sages. In this song or private Varun Dev spoke, on seeing the Brahmins, after paying obeisance to them with respect, the first Garhwali also said, Pradhan, you all should give up what you have come to and will leave from here. On hearing this, all the Brahmins got dressed in yoga, first clothes, ornaments etc. Taking them, they went to their homes. The supremely intelligent Indra took the form of a peacock and went to the mountain, destroying the place, and started watching them all like mice. Seeing the great gods who were divided by the first song, Narayan Vishnu became enchanted and started thinking in his mind that this was the face of Daksha, Daksha is performing the yagya while avoiding Shiva. If he does not get the desired result, then the words of Vedas become meaningless. Daksha's entry towards Shiva undoubtedly caused him to have hatred towards me too because I am Shiva and Shiva is Vishnu. Thus, there is no difference between us both. I am especially preferred by Daksha in this Vishnu form and I am also condemned in the form of Mahadev. This also has two types of feelings. It has both types of feelings in action and mind. Therefore, I will also do the same. I will protect in the form of Vishnu and fight in the form of Shiva. In this way, I will fight a love-mixed battle and then after being defeated in it, I will also honor Daksha in the form of Rudra. There is no doubt in this. After this, taking the gods along, I will complete the yagya. This is said to be the result of worshipping Lord Vishnu. Thus, having made up my mind, the Song Chakra and Lord Vishnu, the bearer of the first songs, stopped Harvey Singh Nath. After this, Veerbhadra became angry and said to Kshamata Sanatan Vishnu, Vishnu, you are the lord of the yagya, such praises are sung, where is this wicked Daksha who is criticizing Shiva in this great yagya, you yourself bring him and hand him over to me, otherwise you will do the same to me, you are the one who is agreeable among most of the special devotees of Shiva and you are the only one who is seen to have intentions for the benefit of those who have hatred towards Shiva, after that Vishnu smiled and said, I will fight with you, defeat me in the battle and take Daksha away, I too see your bravery, saying this Vishnu picked up his bow and spread a net of arrows all around, in a moment all the 8 students of the first songs were immersed in those hairs, hundreds of blood started gushing out and thousands fell unconscious, after that Upadhyaya also aimed at Vishnu and shot a spear and as soon as it touched his body, the donkey broke into hundreds of pieces, then Vishnu also got stopped and drove the donkey towards Veerbhadra, as soon as the donkey came near Mahamuni, that donkey also broke into hundreds of pieces in this manner Thereafter, in anger, the inner soul Vishnu with sharp eyes picked up another story in a moment. Thereafter, taking the Khadakvad, Veerbhadra hit the arm of Gadadhara Vishnu and made him fall on the ground. At this, the extremely enraged Vishnu threw the fierce Sudarshan Chakra ignited from his country on Veerbhadra. Seeing this, Veerbhadra also remembered Lord Shiva in his mind. That Chakra reaching Veerbhadra's neck started to look beautiful like a garland. Thereafter, in the battle, Lord Vishnu became very angry and took the Khadak having the revolution of hundreds of suns and he ran to attack Veerbhadra. Then the mighty Veerbhadra with huge arms, with his rod and his roar, made both Vishnu and him stand still. After that, Veerbhadra became furious and turned towards Vishnu with his head raised and in the meantime, this voice came from the sky. Veerbhadra stop, have you forgotten yourself by getting angry like this in the battle? The one who is Vishnu is the same Mahadev and the one who is Shiva is Vishnu himself. There is no difference between them at all, or after hearing this, Mahamati Veerbhadra, after saluting Vishnu in the form of Shiva, fell on the hair of Daksha and said, Prajapati, the mouth with which you have slandered the supreme being Devarshi Shiva, then I will strike that mouth, saying this, Veerbhadra, whose eyes were extremely red with anger, struck Daksha's face repeatedly and cut him with the front part of his snake, and those who were happy after hearing the slander of Mahadev ji, the first ruler Veerbhadra cut off his life and ears as well.
